I can perfectly explain the situation this show was put in
Lupis is a young animator, she was very young when she whipped up this idea and blind to the obvious answer that she cannot run a web series with traditional hand drawn quality (that even studios on tv networks don't do due to time constraints and ridiculous budget) there was simply no way she could do this alone, I also notice there is a lot of un sketched animation in this episode, or low budget panning shots
Lupis finally realized she can't manage a giant project like this on her own when this one episode which was a pilot took such a long time to make, over the span of a year
voice actors and writers are easy to get in this fandom, but animators who have the ability to have on proportion, principles of animation and a deeper understanding like Lupis are hard to find,
this is another case of having more food on your plate than you can eat
Lupis works on memes now with her busy life, short looping animation basically
but I'm glad to know someone out of the "meme" community dedicated themselves to make something like this while realizing how foolish they were to even think of making something big as this

@@silhouettedstar No, more foolish. Lupis didn't understand that you can not make a fully animated show with only one animator. This episode took a year to make, and its obvious she took a lot of shortcuts with the animation. She overestimated her animation skills and it didn't end well.

+clpfox I think he and Lupis fell out or had creative differences, I would say more but it's not my place to say, it was kind of a private matter and I don't want to have them get angry at me for explaining what they should have announced rather than just put aside. I was really looking forward to this show but these things happen, people can think things are more important than others in productions like this and if they disagree and don't fix it... Well what happened to this show can be the outcome.

Not at all. Plenty of single animators try to make animations and give up after the first episode. They're often lucky to get past the first, if anything.
Mimzy I think it's sad. After 1 episode, people just quit.
Quiet Stream Sure, it's sad, but if it's animated and directed by one single person, you gotta give them a break. Managing to script, collaborate with voice actors/sound producers/music producers, story board, outline, color, shade, and animate a consistent story is a huge feat for one person. Imagine constantly doing that over and over for each episode; I wouldn't be surprised if they went insane sitting behind their computer screen for at least 8 hours a day (to keep a consistent uploading schedule, as well).
Mimzy Yea but, why bother animating the first episode and getting everybody hyped up? Why not just write out the story instead? It's a lot easier.
Quiet Stream I'm not sure how well you know the mind of an animator, but people like us tend to hype ourselves up as well. We are so full of hope and confidence in the series due to a sudden burst from short-lived inspiration that we have no problem hyping other people up as well. I don't exactly know how writing out the story would substitute animation, given how some animators might not even fancy writing in the first place. Often, animators of a potential series surprisingly don't work on the story as much they do the animating-- aesthetics come first in the majority of animators. As I said before, writing may not be easier than animating for certain people.

I remember watching this when it came out with my friend. we were still in elementary school and thought it was the coolest thing ever. all Christmas break we obsessed over it. We would make our own characters and play pretend, acting out how we thought the story would go with our characters in it. My friend was really into drawing (and she still is) so she would draw out scenes and our characters. this honestly brings back so many good and vivid memories. I'm so sad it's not going to b continued but at least this one episode is still here. It was a big part of a surprisingly huge milestone in my life. thank you.

It may, the person who got most of the characters that made a big appearance (Litho, Showtime, Toonny, etc), who was making Cascade actually released a post a bit ago saying that Audience may be continuing, that he got permission to do so by Lupis.

Even though it was just one episode, Audience is the best show I have ever seen. If you can, I'm begging you to bring it back! It's so amazing! All of the characters, all the music, it was obviously really well thought out. I hope that you bring it back and make more episodes. I literally watch it everyday when I get home from school. I love each and every single character in it and I would absolutely LOVE to see them and what they're doing in more episodes. Every single thing about this is just so creative and awesome that I would literally cry tears of joy if you and Lupis Vulpes made more episodes. Every friend I've recommended this to loved it as well and I also know that there are tons and tons of people who love it and want more of it! So please, if it's possible, could you bring back Audience?

According to some comments, the guy who got the important characters like Litho, Showtime, and Toonny said that they actually might continue the series (they apparently have Lupis' permission) though it might be continued in comic form instead of animated form. I'm still not sure if this will happen, though.

The drama personally to me doesn’t mean i can’t still enjoy what used to be. Separating the creation from the creator. As a lesbian woman, I’m appalled by a huge figure in my childhood being brought into the light for not supporting something that is basic human rights. But as horrible as the extremely homophobic and transphobic talk is, this was still a huge part of my childhood and partially pushed my art to where it is today. I won’t be forgetting that. But I won’t be supporting lupus from now on.
I recently entered the furry animation community, and when I found lupus, I was amazed at her work. I am also a lesbian woman, and I am very sad.
I also loved this. I remember not knowing this was cancelled and I just waited for years to start. I wouldn't have pursued art and character design if it wasn't for lupis.

i don't know why anyone expected this series to continue. it would have taken years for just one animator to draw a whole series, especially with all those detailed designs, assuming that nothing goes wrong
it still looks mostly fine, but the story confused me when i was a kid and didn't know any of the characters. it's also paced weirdly. at least the music's good tho! nice fundraiser too

this was 3 years ago, but lol-
I watched this around the time it came out and was a huge fan from there. Made my own characters, stories and ideas inspired by this. Such a shame how time treated it so poorly and how we will never see this expanded upon, but I'm glad that we got even just a piece of this. It changed a lot of my perspective on art and animation and made me realize so much that I didn't understand. I hope more people create things like this in the future, good people, and universes like this are expanded upon in the form of an animated RUclips series that is successful. Until then, I can watch this every few years and reminisce on my middle/highschool obsession.

i feel like its wrong to get people so hyped about something, make a map about it, make animated shorts out of it, and make one episode and leave it at that. i know that it is a lot of work, but i still think they should continue this in some form of animation, whether it be short animated parts of it, shorter episodes, or even just a comic version of it, i think it's too good of a concept to just leave it at this. anyone else agree with me? my best opinion is that you could make a comic version of it, like home stuck or something. idk, just some advice.

So I wish there was an episode before this that explains... everything. I mean the characters, what Darkkys are, you know, that stuff. Not to say this isn’t a great pilot, I loved it. But I had to go on the Lupisvulpes wiki to even find out what a Darkky was. I really wish this was continued, but it’s impossible now. Oh well. This had a lot of potential that didn’t get to be shown.
God, I remember the day that this came out. I was so into it and dressed up as showtime for Halloween the same year. I randomly got the theme song stuck in my head and came back to this. I completely forgot that I stole Litho's name for a DnD character of mine lol. I really wish this could've continued :( good times back then

Lupis hinted that AUDIENCE was just a figment of Oxy's mind, which would explain why litho and the others are aware of a "new character". the series was cancelled... or was it? it could possibly mean that oxy lost the dream before it went too far. this is just a theory though
I'm so sorry for everyone who was inspired, and friends with lupisvulpes. I remember discovering this when it was vary new getting vary inspired from her. My stomach churns whenever I look at her works now especially this pilot. I won't wish ill for lupis but hope she can change her ways or whatever that made her become like this. ya see, that's what we call a literary shortcoming. character introductions should be smooth and contain enough information to stand on their own. this series seems to start out by dunking a lot of stuff onto the viewer. i bet it would have been bigger. so much promise.. i wonder what is going on now a days..

like to make ongoing productions at this tier with only a couple of people would require basically constant CONSTANT work. Like it's probably hell. Animated shows usually have an entire crew. Don't nag about wanting this to continue, cause it's expecting an army's worth of effort from a handful.
i remember waiting for SO long for Lupis to release this show, and it dropped the night before my first day of middle school. i’m a senior now! so crazy to return and get a blast from the past.
Considering Vulpe’s homophobia I’m starting to suspect the reason for the “disagreements” that canceled the show.
I'm glad that ChaoticCanineCulture uploaded this onto his channel. It's sad to know that a series you enjoyed isn't going to continue. I respect Lupis' decision, but hey, maybe someone will help get this series back up on its feet again. Only time will tell. I really enjoy Audience, especially the music. This show got me drawing again, and singing again. The show must go on!
The animation and voice work are pretty good, but I can't say I was all that invested in the story, mostly because I didn't really know what was going on, or who anyone really was. Typically a Pilot explains the premise of a series, maybe a bit of world building, but especially who the characters are, or in this case, what they are. Apparently they're "Characters". Does that mean they're in a fictional world and they're being created, or what? It's hard to get invested in what isn't understood.
This isn't really of any use for this piece as you've discontinued it, but maybe you'll take it to mind if you create another pilot in the future.

Maybe this show was supposed to be like adventure time. They didn't do a pilot that explained everything. And later explained what the land of oo's about in later episodes. But since this is not going to continue, I guess we will never know. You also can look up the plot on wiki if you're interested.

Audience was such a beautiful cartoon, certainly better than most of the new cartoons on tv these days. I understand why lupis would discontinue it though. I am also pretty angry at anyone getting mad when something like this takes months and months to create.

This could've been an interesting series that improved many many years later.
Now I really like this, character designs are great, and so are backgrounds and voice actors/actresses. But I feel the storyline seems to get a little off track. For one thing, his leg just... fell off? It confuses me that there is no background for this, or at least none shown. And, their homes that got destroyed seems to not be one of their worries after another character shows up. Now, although I realize that these two things could very well have backstories, but I think it should at least hint at it. And, if there isn't going to be any more in the story about these (specifically the homes being destroyed) it should not be included at all. Furthermore, I understand this was made a while ago, and I'm sure whoever made the storyline has improved, these are just some (hopefully) helpful tips I hope you and other storymakers will find interesting. Overall, the story has some pretty cool ideas, I love the part about the one character having no voice especially! And if you read this whole paragraph you deserve a gold star.

I try not to watch this because then I see endless possibilities and then remember this was cancelled and feel disappointed knowing that there will possibly not be any RUclips pilot as perfect as this.
Now I think about what would've happened if I never found Lupis. She was the first domino in a big chain. She helped me evolve my style faster than it would've taken before, she got me into animation, she even made me become a furry. My life would've been completely different. But my point is, I found Lupis through Audience. She inspired me to make a comic that has evolved into a completely different thing! Now my comic is going to blossom into it's own thing while Audience stays stuck in one episode.

I'm so excited to see this as an LGBTQ+ fundraiser now. This animation meant a lot to me as a young artist and (especially as a trans guy) the vibes got thrown off so hard after all the drama. I feel like I can actually watch and enjoy this again. Thank you so much CCC!!! :)

Glad to see this up again. I'll be honest, my first few times seeing this, I never realized that Oxy and Showtime had the same voice. Maybe it was the lisp(?) that Showtime had. Also a testament to being able to give them their own personality with the same voice, like the Clone Wars series.Also, dang, I love the music, especially the intro and outro!

It's a shame that Audience was cancelled before it could become a series. I really enjoyed this.
I rewatched this a lot, its such nonsense which is why I love it, it isn't downright stupid like most of today's cartoons, this is fun and magical

I miss lupis so much but I hate that she's homophobic. I've seen situations like this because I'll be honest lupis is a very nice person she's never been agressive or anything but she's not understanding that homophobia is bad and she sees it more as an opinion when it's really not. She's just not understanding what lgbtq is fighting for which is rights and to be normalized.
I feel like lupis is the perfect example of how "It's just my opinion, i'm not homophobic" while continuing to be discriminatory.
Around the time of audiences production I would go to her streams a lot, we added each other on skype and in general I really enjoyed talking to her. I was really excited, it felt like we had a blooming friendship going and we even did an art trade together and I made fanart.
One day I overheard rumors of her being homophobic and I asked her about it. I basically said "I don't think you're homophobic at all, after all i'm trans and you've been just as respectful to me and accepting!"
After that, she stopped talking to me completely. I always found it really weird. Before telling her I was trans I could message her and say hi, or even just leave a comment on her profile and she'd interact. Afterwards it was like radio silence.. And only until some years later did I see the bigger picture.
tl;dr, she completely lost interest in being friends with me after finding out I was trans. She's fully allowed to surround herself with people she feels comfortable around, but it doesn't make it any less hurtful or transphobic. If I had never told her my identity, chances are we would have stayed talking, and that really stings.

I also think lupis may be a bit brain washed by religion or something because I did hear about her going to some kind of church camp and when she came out it was like she was an entirely different person.
Some people told me she used to be apart of lgbtq but when she came out of that camp she wasn't.
