- Today we are doing some unboxing and explaining of walleye trolling rods. Spring walleye fishing is here and trolling is a great way to catch walleyes all season long. I am rigging up my new trolling rods from 2bfishing and figured it was worth some explaining. If you are new to walleye trolling this video should provide some clarity on what you are looking for in a rod to fit your needs. Awesome info. You should do a whole walleye trolling series of videos. From the very basics(starting up) to advance techniques and everything in between.. Been looking for a complete video series about trolling with no luck. I think a lot of people on your channel would love something like that.

Tom, awesome information on trolling rods. Please do one on Superior Trout fishing. In regards to both Walleye and Trout. Reel and line information would be great.
Would you recommend an 8 foot rod for a river situation or should I move down to a 7 foot? Trolling with and without planar boards. All depends on boat traffic.

Found out leadcore trolling in one of my main lakes I fish a lot is very uncommon. Which is ok cuz I hammer the eyes using it when they get out on the basin. I get some weird looks from the lindy rigging old farts.

As a kayak fisherman in Saskatchewan I won’t be running multiple rods at the same time on my kayak. Is there any reason to stick with a longer rod like the ones you are running if I was to try a single planer board. I mostly just want get my lure further from the boat when running them shallow. Wouldn’t mind if this rod served another purpose like leadcore or dipsy divers later in the season when fish are deep.

I use a fixed tree rod, using the same length rod, how can i bring the planer board from the farthest planer in without tangling themiddle and closest rod?

What reels do you use for trolling
Hey Tom, what line counter reel would you recommend for leadcore?
Don’t most lead ore lines have different Color’s so you can keep track by the number of colours you let out.
Tom I know you promote Picifun......what do you recommend for a line counter reel?
Okuma....reasonably priced and work well
These kinda rods make good float rods and catch catfish all sizes and large fresh water fish
I'll have to trust you that these telescoping rods can handle the load of trolling with boards without snapping in two. At their price point, it's an expensive trail compared to other non telescoping options out there. Hope they work...
They handle dipsey divers no problem, same pull as boards if not more
