At the Basildon Lower Academy, students in Year 7, 8 and 9 follow a traditional academic curriculum which has been designed to successfully prepare them for the rigours of Key Stage 4 at the Upper Academy. From this curriculum, the vast majority of students will choose GCSE subjects at the end of Year 9 which will count towards the Progress 8 measure.
