    i have heard that these 8kW heaters are to overpowered for a small van. Did it turn your van into a sauna?

    Nice content! thanks for sharing your experience. May I ask how you routed the exhaust pipe?

      Hey! I drilled a hole through the floor and it sticks out of the side of the vehicle. I have a video on doing this

    Is the temperature sensor on the monitor? If you set it to a certain temperature will it come on and shut down when reaching that temp? Sort of like how you would set your furnace thermostat?

    • @JoelsStuff
      @JoelsStuff  2 года назад +1

      Exactly yes! If it is on auto mode. If you set it to manual you can just adjust what power to have it on which I prefer

    Hi, brilliant video. One question. I'm I've got a diesel heater too. I'm going to move into my van. How do you manage to keep your batteries topped up during winter. do you have enough power to run the heater?

    • @JoelsStuff
      @JoelsStuff  3 года назад

      The heater I have only drains about 4 amps maximum, so on a 75ah battery this should last a good 15 hours or so. I personally only use it for a couple of hours here and there, and i drive in between uses which keeps the battery topped up

    If it burns diesel I suppose it has an exhaust of sorts? How does that work? Did you drill a hole to let the fumes out?
    I own a T4 as well and it gets pretty damp inside: could you keep it running through the night at low speed/ temperature just enough to keep the ice of the windows? So many questions, sorry! Ah one more: how much did you spend on this one? Cheers.

      Hi! I perhaps should have explained that - yes there is an exhaust going to the outside through a hole in the van floor. You cold leave it running overnight, but the diesel pump clicking is a bit noisy for some people. Good luck!

      Yeah mine is through the floor also and fed to my main deisel tank. You can leave it on all night long if you want it's not a problem. I just use mine for 30mins at a time maybe then turn it off so only when needed. I have been told when using at low temp for a long time just to give it a 10minute blast at high temperature to blast out any left over soot from the burning process. By the way I couldn't be bothered to fit it myself and opted for a local garage I frequent. He charged 150 which if I knew I would of fit it myself. It takes a couple minutes to get warm so you could turn it on via the little fob you get with it from inside the house then get ready for work/have a cuppa. Then by the time you go out the frost on the van should be gone. Also as for the damp it's just clean heat no moisture at all from it. Heres another channel I frequent

    Nice video. Is the pump click really noisy once optimum temp is reached?

    • @JoelsStuff
      @JoelsStuff  3 года назад

      It stays the same however it’s running, it just that the fan drowns it out at higher settings

    When did 2C become cold? Here we call that a sweater day, it regularly gets to -30C at night, can hit -56C and we do have weeks in a row where it doesnt get above -30C. I was looking for an actual cold weather test of the heater.

      There's another guy on RUclips living the van life his channel is. He says outta his (and he visits snowtrails and ski resorts in America) he gets on the lowest setting at 24 hours a day he gets a week outta 10 litres of deisel. At the highest setting at 24 hours a day he gets about 2 days outta 10 litres of deisel
