In hope of reconciling both of you: Kosen judo is Kodokan judo. Kosen refers to a set of rules applied in some colleges in Japan that allows a lot more of groundwork. I have no idea if Maeda went through such college but he definitely learnt the techniques that then mostly disappeared from IJF competitions and survived in Kosen judo.
@@dimitrisdm6997 Oda and Isogai worked together to build Ne-Waza. They were both students of Kano. My BJJ lineage is through Grand Master Francisco Sa. He was trained by Takeo Yano and a student of Jorge Gracie.

Kosen and Kodokan is the same Judo....Jigoro Kano s Judo....some schools did more ne waza than others and that is Kosen Judo
