For YEARS i have been searching this Film!
THANK YOU!
Great movie, gorgeous Marlene... and thanks soooo much for the original b/w version❤
From 1930 through 1940, the greatest movies ever made, without a close second. Thank you for this one, never seen it before. Marlene was about 39 years old and John was about 33 years old, then.
I agree but the movies of the 50's were superb also. Richard Widmark, Gregory Peck, Gary Cooper..just to name a few and the beautiful women actresses were so talented 👍
@@catherinekeller4230 In the 30's, you had ROLAND COLMAN, ROBERT DONAT, WILLIAM POWELL, WARREN WILLIAM, CLARK GABLE, YOUNG TYRONE POWER, ERROR FLYNN, JAMES STEWART, YOUNG JOHN WAYNE, YOUNG GARY COOPER, and of course the greatest Cowboy actor of them all, TIM MCCOY. As for the WOMEN, YOU CAN START WITH; CAROLE LOMBARD, HELEN HAYES, KAY FRANCIS, LORETTA YOUNG, BETTE DAVIS, JOAN BENNETT and many others that had a "personality", could speak excellent ENGLISH, as well as "looks". So much talent.
@@ADELEMARQUINYou forgot Humphrey Bogart
@@matthewnikitas8905 No, I didn't.
Duke-land, the best, anything related to John Wayne will always be the greatest of the cinema, God bless him
My favorite Dietrich film! It's funny, sincere and a perfect spoof of her chanteuse character. The clothes an hats are incredible. The atmosphere is well done and the supporting cast...perfection. I am so glad it's finally on YT.
Her first Costume is a Schiaparelli Jacket, she bought in 1939 on her last visit to France before the War.
Excellent movie! Marlene was not only an excellent Actress but also a heroic patriot who served in the USO entertaining troops at the front lines during WWII, so close that her fellow entertainers joked she was trying to get them killed. A fervent anti Nazi, the German born actress made it clear she detested Hitler and his Nazi thugs. She went with our troops into Germany wearing an American Army Uniform and even suffered frost bite entertaining troops. When the war was over and all the other entertainers went home, she stayed and kept entertaining troops keeping up their moral. Marlene was not only beautiful, but classy, patriotic, and heroic as well.
And still she died very lonesome in Paris
NOW WE'RE TALKING MOVIE ❕❕
👍🤙
Marlene was an excellent actress.
That cannot be said of John Wayne who was the epitome of wooden actor.
Marlene Dietrich's costuming in this movie is what made me watch❣❣❣❣❣
Such a wonderful movie, truly makes me feel like living one, I'm in love with this one❤
Dietrich was a vision.
Perfect 😘
pretty, but sings like shit................
That black outfit with white squares.. she had style..
Surprisingly entertaining!
John Wayne and Marlene Dietrich had quite the torrid romance, that started when they met during the making of this movie.
so far i know, marlenes daughter wrote in her book, dietrich & Wayne didnt have an affair. never.
Thank you so much for this great movie bijou🖤🙏
Cornball, hokey, silly rah rah USA and Navy, BUT well worth the pain just to see Marlene at her breathtaking best. She really steals all scenes and the movie itself!!! She's MAGNIFICENT in every aspect!!! THANK YOU Cult Cinema Classics!!!!

Nazis in panamas!
PS. It would be interesting to ID the cruiser showcased in the film and learn whether it survived 7 Dec. a year or so later.

👌😀👌
If anything, Dietrich is almost too glamorous. Great cast! Shades of Sadie Thompson.
Oskar Homolka was the consummate Eastern European character actor. He played everything from Russian spies to "Egor" types. Loved him in "Mr. Sardonicus". If he'd been taller, he might have been the guy to take over Bela Lugost's "Dracula" character.
I've always been a fan of Marlene Dietrich and her crazy films where she played a western dance hall girl. Who will ever forget the character modeled after her in " Blazing Saddles", "Lili Von Schtupp".
I think Miss Dietrich always had it in her contract to dance in her movies except for "Witness For The Prosecution" and " Judgement At Nuremberg".
You know, what's really funny is that Miss Dietrich WAS in real life "Lili Von Schtupp" as she did have countless affairs with her costars. Even when she was very young she had an affair with her German professor.
She did a Hitchcock movie, "Stage Fright" (1950) where she sang a song, "The Laziest Girl In Town" that could have been right out of "Blazing Saddles".
You can picture Madeline Kahn in that scene.
This movie is a version of the "Blazing Saddles" saloon scene but IF it were a far east dock side saloon with Popeye.
So beautiful❤ So wonderful✨😍 So touching😊🤗 A tear rolled down💧 my cheek seeing Bijou in the last scene🥰
Dietrich is delicious. There is no other word. What a fine film!
AWESOME DELUXE MOVIE!!! Thank you ever so for posting!!! It made my night!!!
Beautiful movie. Thank you!
"A Snack Is Food."
Sheer style!
The ever-so-pretty Anna Lee! And the divine Marlene Dietrich
eski Amerikan sanatçılar çevirdiği film güzelmiş bu gibi tarzda devam etsin
Romance is best served when it’s cut off by extenuating circumstances.
Merci pour ce bon vieux film. Et quels acteurs !... Auriez-vous "Pittsburgh" 1942 avec également Marlene Dietrich et John Wayne ?
This is the movie the men were watching in 'Band of Brothers'... now I have to see it.
Marlene Dietrich was really something.
Great cast. Good direction. Good sets. Crazy wild barroom brawls! Good movie. Something about Marlene with Carol Burnett's Eunice Harper coiffure just wasn't right. Even in 1944! Thanks CCC.
No animals were injured in the making of this movie, but 200 people died during the bar fight scene, lol.
You really think it's funny? No...nothing worth laughing there,so Go use your " lol " in the bathroom. And make sure to not only close but lock the bathroom door for sure nobody's like to walk in on the ugly scene that would be going on there. B S
GREAT MOVIE!

Thank you for posting this wonderful movie..☺.life imitating art..John Wayne was mad about Marlene Dietrich 3 yr affair, they got on well had a great deal in common! 👍🌞🌈
She hated Wayne and there was no affair at all, according to her daughter.
Here we are, a girl from Korinth is watching a Corinth movie. 😂
Popeye and olive, yet real life is different, as here at the end. The sailor man
Ojalá tenga doblaje en español
All's well that ends well..
Good grief!
As camp and silly as it gets!
But OMG .. Dietrich!!!!!!
Heather Duke: I prayed for the death of Heather Chandler many times and I felt bad everytime I did it but I kept doing it anyway. Now I know you understood everything. Praise Jesus, Hallelujah😊

1:18:30 ah Wayne it's a trap pal...

John Wayne was a pitiful actor but it seems a great movie star.
Bu nurnu havada kadinin flimleride hic ic acici degil
The costumes ....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't!
This is waaaayyyy too much! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The hats, brooches, feathers, stones, lace, umbrellas, gloves, beads , sequins, and jewelry all at the same time plus the drawn on eyebrows, the hard contour on the nose and the white under the eyes and in the water line and highlight on the bottom lip...
at 46:15 there is even feathers on the back of the dress around the hip, a feather boa, a broache on the skirt and then she changes into 47:33 ...for 15 seconds! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This all also reminds me of Madonna's work with Bea Åkerlund. Especially in her videos for "Medellín" and "Ghost town" and "god Control" ...Always too exaggerated, always hiding the hands, unnecessary layering and maximalist, too flimsy, busy and decorative.
It makes everyone look older...
The mens tailoring on the other hand ....fantastic!
All the men look deliciously dapper! The hair especially....
