Agreed... There were only a handful of bands I liked in the 80's, But the 90's is when music finally came into what I wanted to hear. These guys epitomize it.
I can't even remember what year it was but I saw these guys at the Panorama Ski Hill as the 'bar band' on the final weekend of the ski season back in the 90's. They were playing in the bar when "Pursuit of Happiness" was the headliner. Never even made it to see the 'pursuit' These guys were amazing! They even did an outdoor set on the patio during the "Slush Cup" on the Sunday. This may have been the best weekend of my life.
I remember these guys when they were a garage band rocking Lydia's....lol...the bass players brother used to run a jam night in the Wash N' Slosh....good times....seen them in North Battleford for the centennial fair...great dudes!!!
I'm a WMM fan from way back. Like 'em or not, they are SICK live!! I've seen a lot of bands in concert, playing huge venues, and crappy little clubs, and there's not many that can touch WMM.
This is actually an amazing song. Everyone should thank Bruce Rawling, Dale Johnson, Martin Zimmer and the entire Crosssection band for arranging all of Wide Mouth Mason's music and giving them a start and a shot at all at success. Some amazing Alberta musicians you may have never heard of. But they are All over this album as arrangers and producers. Shout out to them Wide Mouth! They deserve the cred
Wide Mouth Mason are performing at this year's VIEX in Nanaimo next month (as well as The Age of Electric). Hope to see both bands, especially since I saw Econoline Crush at last year's VIEX.
see them at canadian music week march 9 to 13, 2011 in toronto, ontario, canada. posting for rock pop alternative playlist for my writers typing tunes ;)
@lesterclaypool1 they are playing there tonight , sorry i didnt know , i thought it was gonna be on the weekend like any " Normal" place would put on a show
i seen them in dawson creek back in 95 or 96 some little rock bar,the only people there were the crew i was working there with and them playing, they didnt even have thier own songs all i remember is a bunch of blues covers but they were really good, they looked a little out of place the bassist looked like he was 15.
Yeah, it's funny how the bad music of a certain period can remind you of the good music of the same period. I remember seeing this band in Toronto in the 90's and they were so horrible. My friend was ranting about how good they were, then I was severely disappointed. All I could do was watch in disbelief.
I have heard this song so many times and it never gets old !!!!!!!
man this reminds me of the good old days of canadian rock big sugar, moist, the watchmen, etc...
one of best Canadian bands ever!!!
Amazing live ! Saw them at the commodore in the 2000 s
I'm 38, and still love this song and video!!
