I may have gone a little overboard with the seventy or eighty photos on this video but I shot over 600 photos on this trip and I figure more is better for you to get a feel for what Oklahoma City and some of the state was like. I haven't even looked at Elizabeth's camera yet. She doesn't shoot much but I'll bet there are thirty or forty good shots on her camera. I have some pretty incredible shots of some old cars from a small town in Oklahoma that I will put in some video in the future. Half of that town was littered with classic and custom cars. I believe most of them likely belonged to one person or a business.
The photo in the Rock Shop at 23:30 is the owner pointing out his son and mining partner who just passed away of natural causes a few days earlier.

Everytime I see Our state through someone else's lense, I see how absolutely beautiful she is all over again! Great great video and pictures! I am so glad you enjoyed your time here. Y'all come on back anytime, stay a while, we'd love to have you! I love being an Okie. Mississippi look mighty perdy though.😊❤❤
Real Cowboy's Hall of Fame is in OK. My uncle took me there. He lived in Edmond. Got to say thank you for this one, my uncle passed a while back and seeing this made my heart fill with positive thoughts. Over 6 feet of snow in my yard and it looks warm. Really enjoyed every part. Sincerely, thank you!
I loved the Lane Frost inscription He wasn’t perfect but he knew Jesus, this got me emotional 🥲 Thanks to you and your wife for sharing your trip
Best inscription on the property!
I tearfully agree, Bill. Thank you Randy and your loving wife.
@@628DirtRooster hi
@@628DirtRooster i hope you have merry Christmas god bless you all
Best intro ever! LOL You're photo montages are always spectacular. I've heard of that showman's rest but never have been there. That shot of the house at 1:12 is just south of me and his whole yard used to be full of prarie dogs and he had all these little houses he built and put over their holes, it was really cool. They moved away a couple years after he did that. Looks like there's still a few mounds there though. Okie Rob is about 200 miles from any beaten path. lol Martin Luther King preached at that dark red brick church on the left on your first shots of brick town. My GGGrandfather was in that land run and got 80 acres. The land is still in my family. Loved the photo encore. Awesome video, thanks!
If I'd planned in advance I could have loaded up you and Okie Rob and we could have given a proper tour of Oklahoma.
Thank you Randy and your loving wife for sharing your trip. I will always love Oklahoma. My first real job out of college (Indiana) was in Oklahoma…It was a difficult time in my life but set in motion the miracles in my life since. The people of Oklahoma are the friendliest I have met… oh, and the cemetery audio was no accident… Thank you Randy!
We have so many unique places to see in Oklahoma. Thank you for highlighting our state. I live on the homestead that has been handed down in my family since the land run. Been a lot of places in my 65 years but Oklahoma will always be my home.
Beautiful photographs
That cemetery is about 20 miles West of me. Showman's Rest area is a tribute to the many traveling circus performers who overwintered in Hugo, OK. The winter area on the N.E. side of town is now an elephant sanctuary.
David I live 24 miles east of Hugo just east of swink
Thanks for letting me see that trip! That was a unique cemetery for sure. Your photography is what makes us a part of the trip, you should always include it! I loved your Wifes look near the end saying, we are not driving thru till the morning. You guys make a great couple!
Ha! I was ready to drive through the night and she was having none of it. She just wanted to relax somewhere.
@@628DirtRooster Your right, maybe you're understanding on when to give in is why you are still with your wife. Life can be lonely sometimes without companionship but, I have gotten used to it. lol. Bad thing now is that I like being alone and my adult kids don't like it! Just proves you can't please everyone and shouldn't try to for that matter! The right partner might have made the difference had I made the right choices.
Great travel video and music. There is a Paris in Tennessee. About 60 miles west of Clarksville. They also have an Eiffel tower replica.
Interesting....Paris, TX is some miles West (don't think it's quite 60 though) of Clarksville, TX
We just have cell towers here. ;)
There is also a Paris Kentucky and a Paris Arkansas
I am glad to see that I am not the only one who likes to visit cemeteries and rock shops!! Your wife and I must be kindred spirits! My birthday is Oct 27.
I started following you, Jeff H. and Darren at the same time and have loved every minute of it!! Love your eye for beauty and interest. Keep it up.
Anne
I'm finding it more interesting and inspiring to see your photos and vids during your travels. Love to see your relationship with the bees
I've been kicking around the idea of a travel channel. Just have to come up with a channel name.
Great pics!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like them!
Awesome Photos and Pictures Randy! Can't wait to meet y'all At Hive Life! Have a Wonderful Holiday and New Years! God bless
Same to you! Have a blessed Christmas.
Always nice and relaxing to take a trip with you and your pretty wife Randy. It was interesting, educational and just plain downright fun. That's for the ride along.👍
Glad y'all could ride along with us.
So well edited - just love the glimpses of real life in your still shots. It looks like several people found this an emotional video. So did I. You & yours remind me of me & mine. I lost him to cancer on Monday. Hold her tight.
So sorry for your loss. I pray you have good family support around you in your time of grieving. God bless you.
So sorry, D'Ann! I lost my prince of a man 2 years ago and I still ache. We loved road trips. Hugs!
That cemetery is absolutely beautiful. Hi Mrs.!! Always happy to see you in the video 😊
Elizabeth says thank you. :)
Loved this, love to travel. Loved the pics also!! The cemetery video was awesome!! See you in January Dude!! Top video!!
Good to see folks enjoy what we probably take for granted most days here.
WOW Fantastic video Randy. Thanks for taking us along on your journey ! You need to take Elizabeth along on more of your road trips. She adds a little class to your videos!
We don't want to class it up too much. Wouldn't be long I'd get kicked off the videos.
@@628DirtRooster Rofl!
That was a pleasant and refreshing video. Y’all make a fine looking couple. The cemetery was amazing. I didn’t know it existed. As always, great and phenomenal photos! Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
Thanks so much Jenn
Love the slice-of-life photos, Randy (and Elizabeth)! I can relate to the "U-turn for a photo op". And not only in a car. Can't tell you how many times my husband has bumped into me from behind when I've made a sudden stop to take a shot. Now he just walks in front of me :)
I'm gradually getting her into photography walks. I always have to remind her to bring her camera though.
We might be up for a NO trip if we're in town.
What an amazing resting place. Thank you for sharing this with us! As always, I love the photo montage at the end!
Most interesting cemetery I've ever seen.
@@628DirtRooster I find it interesting to view headstones from 1600's as well - which are here in New England.
So funny seeing the area I used to frequent, Bricktown on your channel. I lived in OKC from '96-'04. It used to be that Spaghetti Warehouse and one or two other places were ALL there was down there. Then they built the canal and invested and the whole are just exploded. Great area to hang out in !! THanks for the rewind memories.
That OKC riverwalk is patterned after our San Antonio Riverwalk as well as the riverboat drivers with their interesting historical/ humorous banter. Glad to see it was fun. That Rock Shop would be so dangerous.$$!
San Antonio is a destination we plan to visit in 2023.
Glad you and your wife enjoyed our state of Oklahoma.
So nice to let us tag along on this trip. I enjoyed all the photos. I touch of times past. Yet still around in other areas.
Thank you for sharing, DirtRooster. It's great to see the two of you having such a good time together and your photos are superb, as always. Love from Paris and see you soon.
I wish I knew where our pictures were from our Paris trip. I could have stuck a few of those in there.
@@628DirtRooster That'd be grand. Hope you can find them.
Awesome photos and places.
Thanks Michael
You and your wife are so artistic, lovely videos. Thanks😊
Awesome video! Thanks for taking us followers along with you. Thanks for stopping at the cemetery, love checking out cemeteries in general. Awesome that there were so many 🎪 people. And Lane Frost up and coming Bull Rider 'cowboy up'.
Cemeteries are so fascinating - so much history!
Elizabeth likes touring them. I'm just along for the stroll.
It was so fun having you here in Oklahoma!! I so enjoyed hearing you speak and so excited when you and Elisabeth came to visit!!!
There are those folks you connect with almost instantly,
that’s you and your beautiful wife! So wished we lived closer!!!
The video and photos, of yours and Elisabeth’s trip, is outstanding!!!! Great job!
P.S. Thanks so much for the shout out!! Darren was so excited!!!❤️
I aways enjoy your travel videos; you take me places I will never get to see.
Oh, FYI Ants won't cross a line of black pepper. My family was organic gardeners and learned all sorts of deterrents to pests. We would put pepper in the windows of the old farm house and that worked.
I'm going to have to try that!
Interesting!
Very nice video. Not your usual but this is a great smell the roses blog.
Thanks
Thanks Brian
Jerome Bee Farm is my favorite. Dirt Rooster is in my top 10! Just below It's me again Joey and Mr Ed!! Great video Randy. My favorite part was wondering how many times you turned around to get those great shots and then hearing your wife call you out on it a couple minutes later!!!
I made enough U turns to make her mad. lol
Randy, I have to say that this was one of the top 5 best videos you have shared with us In my opinion. Since I can't travel because of my health and money, I enjoy watching other people travel. Very beautiful. I truly love watching your videos because you explain everything. Thank you for all the hard work you do to share your life with us. Keep em coming brother. Blessings ✌️🤙
Great video, love seeing Darren Jerome on your video, he’s one of my favorites. Always has great info on his site. Love the photography on all your videos especially the still shots
Great video . Always enjoy seeing you and the your wife on a trip. Looks like ya'll have a lot of fun together. Great Music as well
We do have fun on road trips.
That there is what you call A ROAD TRIP!!!! LOL!! Happy belated birthday Elizabeth!!!
On the worldwide tour. Ha!
I’m a Air Force brat. Spent 1968 until 1984 on OKC. Family still live there it was good to see familiar places.
I don’t know much about bees but I prefer watching your videos to observe how you handle them. But I really like seeing your travel videos and seeing you riding around taking pictures. I feel inspired by your shots and the atmosphere in your videos. Thanks man and God bless you and your family
Ya’ll must take twice and long on a road trip with all of your extra stops. Looks like fun! I really like that closing song too.
She just wants to get there. I’m a sight seeing everywhere I go so I don’t let her drive much. 😬
Haha! The perfect combo!
Love your videos- I watched them before my husband became a bee-keeper! You have an artsy touch, n I really like the music tracks u choose.
One of your best! Really enjoyed our trip through Oklahoma!
Thanks for taking time to watch and comment.
Thank you,
I also enjoyed the ride along.
I enjoyed every second of this! Thanks for traveling like I can't now. And you did such a great job of creating a travelogue!
I got some of the new Ceracell bottom boards with the beast blocker. I haven't shared them yet but I have them. lol Great video!
I didn't get any of the bottoms. They must like you more. :)
@@628DirtRooster I doubt that's the case. Lol
Glad to have stayed till the end: Soul satisfying images accompanied by an impeccable choice of obscured acoustic diamond. 👍thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for commenting.
You are a blessed man Randy. If you are ever up north check out the Southern Tier Beekeepers Association in Binghamton, NY. We would love to have you all here!
Great video brother I’m looking forward to seeing the next one GOD BLESS
Already got it edited. :)
Every since I was a little girl (9) I have loved reading headstones and wondering what the people were like. I enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
I pretty much stay out of grave yards but Elizabeth likes to tour them.
Awesome video, pictures and great acoustic music, must take a while for you to edit your videos. Tell Elizabeth she did an awesome job on the shirt designs and colors. Glad we took advantage of the early run. ✌🏻
Thank y'all for ordering. It's very much appreciated.
I really enjoy your trips and the photography. Thanks. Also the bee videos!
More to come!
I met and talked to your wife extensively about coating the wax on the frames very heavily and seeing results with the bees building wax cells faster. My husband and I visited the Showman’s Cemetary as part of a Jeep
visit.
Jeep clubs have become a big thing lately.
Very cool video and love the music you used. I was hoping that you listed who sung the last song but you didn't. It sounds like Cody Francis. Love his music. It looks like you had a good time on your trip. I've never been to OK but have been to Arkansas. My "little" sister lived there until she passed away 6 years ago.
You're in my home state! If you haven't yet, you need to get a rose rock from Noble, OK. Down by Broken Bow in the SE corner of the state, there is the Hochatown State Park by Broken Bow Lake (Coyote Drive Campground). There, you will find shale and quartz rocks covering the ground! You can't even drive a tent stake into the ground. It's absolutely beautiful at night with no light pollution.
I saw rose rocks at the Rock Shop.
@@628DirtRooster That specific Barite crystal only formed in Oklahoma...and they are red, which matches the soil. There's a little museum showcasing the largest one found. Oh! And up in the NW section of the state is the Great Salt Plains where you can dig for selenite crystals. It used to be an ocean.
@@stephaniea5206 Very interesting. I'll have to try and make it up to that on our next trip.
Beautiful music as always. Does your wife know how much you love her? She Should!!!
If you ever make it over to south central New Mexico, I know a place you could stay. 🙂
Didn’t know y’all loved rocks too. I get one in every new place we travel. Sure enjoyed this video. Your photos are outstanding
We started collecting rocks on vacations when I was a kid. The first one I ever kept came from a stream in Tennessee I think. It's still sitting next to my parent's fire place.
Love that song at the end 👍👍👍👍
Only took two hours of scrolling through music to find it. haha
Enjoyed the tour of Oklahoma. I need to get out more after watching it. I’ve lived in Oklahoma my whole life and learned some new places. See you soon in Tennessee. Take care.
See y'all in TN. Another chance for a travel video. haha
Nice tour. Cemeteries are one of my favorite places to walk around. Great photos as always.
That one was massive. It was probably 25-30 acres, maybe more. I'm guessing but it was big.
Nice 👍 thanks for sharing 😅
The area around Hugo, Oklahoma is the wintering grounds for many circuses. That’s why there are many gravesites and there are winter homes for the circus performers and workers. There used to be an elephant sanctuary but I don’t know if that still exists.
First and with two of my favorites, Elizabeth and Jerome Bee Farm.
They do add something special
Thanks for the great video, its always nice to see the land while someone else does the driving, and it didn't cost me a dime for gas,all expenses paid, lol.
You have a real talent for capturing Americana in pictures.
Thank you
Nice video guys, thanks for sharing your trip.
If you ever give up the bee game, keep the cameras....
Awesome trip thank you for sharing!
You bet!
Thx for the ride along ...
Glad to bring y'all.
Love Rooster's travels!
New channel "Rooster Crosses The Road"?? lol
Next time you’re in SW Oklahoma you should check out the Wichita Mountain wildlife refuge outside of Lawton. It’s really beautiful out there!
I love your photography! You’re so good at it.
You're too kind
@@628DirtRooster no. I’m just honest.
You and your wife are such a cute couple. 😍
I wish I could properly relay how much I enjoy your videos.
Thank you for making them.
You're awesome Beaverc
Great photos you're a lovely couple 😍
Really nice video guys, the pics were great. I noticed a oxymoron in your video, at 21:11 you have a pic of the CALVERY BAPTIST CHURCH and under it it say Dan Davis Law Firm. I thought that was odd.🤓
That was why I took the picture. I think you're the first person to notice it, or at least the first to comment on it.
That was wonderful......thank you!
You are so welcome!
You two were right down the road from me, next time come thru Chickasha ok we would love to have yall vist.
Love the music folks. You two are a cute pair!
Thank you so much!
Yes, there IS a Paris, Tennessee! Many summers as a kid were spent at the lake nearby.
There's a Dadant and son's in Paris, Texas in old buildings. You should of checked in at Swan's Hardware off the square. Gifford's also. Gifford's aka army/navy store. Swan's has odd ball are old stuff form the yesterday. Plus new stuff.
Travis at Bee Wise LLC mentioned that but I forgot about it until we were well past Paris.
next time you are in oklahoma, come to Wilburton, Oklahoma. We have the bell star lodge and the Robbers Cave state park!!!. and very pretty during the fall and winter times
thats a pretty vid you put together sir, thanks for sharing it .
Thank you. Only took fourteen hours to edit. lol
Bless yall🎅🏻🙏🏻🎄
Thanks Tom
You're a lucky man Randy, Elizabeth is a gem. I enjoyed the trip with y'all.
I'm blessed to have her.
I have found myself on my travels taking detours into graveyards in several countries I have travelled too and regardless of the faith buried withing I find them very very comforting places.... folks say farming and building was the start of civilasation but taking care of those that went before us is probably why we started farming and building in areas in the first place :):)
There is a Paris TN, and it has a little Isl Tower. And they have the best fish fry every year.
woooooo. when we go on vacations my wife and i also check out the local cemetary's. one of the coolest was in savanah georgia and the plain slate markers had the yeard, months and days the person lived.
There’s an old black cemetery on some of my uncle’s land that is fenced off and not cared for. It was grown over with trees and bushes when I was a kid and I think they stopped using it before my mom was born. I haven’t seen it in thirty years but it might be interesting to explore.
Nice vid. Happy New Year
Another slice of life. Thank you!
Enjoying life a slice at a time.
Beautiful! Just beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Hey y'all!! Love seeing your face on here!
Yay! Thank you!
Cool Video Rooster , see you at hive life . hey bring some of your blue caps.
Will do David. See you there.
You should do a video
on the camera equipment you use and the editing process.
Is a Pairs in KY too. All big horse farms.
Been there once
If you found that cemetery interesting, you should look into Showmens Rest, Woodlawn Cemetery, Forrest Park, IL
That was nice. Thanks!
Thanks Edward. Glad y'all liked it.
Can't remember the state maybe Virginia or noth Carolina but there's a plot it's a childs plot but you walk down stairs to the viewing area I believe they covered the glass in the 50's. Could you imagine being on night watch and hearing a bell start ringing! LOL. Have you seen the bees in Florida are starving because of the late hurricanes
Have you ever considered moving across to FX format buddy? Although a big girl the D850 and Sigma DG lenses are worth considering as you swap over.
I have but I’m in so deep with APSC cameras and lenses. I don’t mind the size. The d500 is pretty hefty too. I also shoot with Fuji x-h1 which is APSC also but mirrorless. I prefer DSLR over mirrorless for walking around. One battery lasts all day on those. D850 would be a nice step up though.
Saw that Shiner beer truck at the canal
You in OK?
Lol favourite movie, love the channel
It's a classic
