On a post-2017 car, the tax is the same price. I don't think the running costs are a whole lot higher either. I've driven a pre-facelift V6S and post-facelift P450 V8 and for me, the V8 is 5x better of those. Philosophically, I prefer 6 cylinders to 8, so I'm honestly not sure if it's just the minor tweaks to the car in general that made the post-facelift F-Type better, rather than the engine. Still, you buy an F-Type for show, and the V8 stomps the V6 in that regard - you'll never need to explain it. The P450 (because more power just makes it worse) is still sort of a backup for my next car shortlist - the Lexus V8 is just more exciting, so I need to find an LC500 to test drive, but if I somehow hate it, which is very unlikely, then the F-Type is a serious option again...
Awesome list bro the Jaguar is barely mentioned I saw a beautiful red one here in South Africa's international airport O.R Tambo, that thing was sounding super nice
number 10 the Mercedes w126 is one of the greatest cars ever built , my father had a brand new Mercedes 560sel in 1989 , he still says to this day it was the best car he ever owned .
Another great vid JB, thanks..Great choice for top spot but I would be wary about the 4.2 V8 as they are known for belt tension failure! That's why I went for the 3 litre supercharched...Still love it after 4 years....I like the look of the newish Volvo S90! It's understated looks & 385 BHP appeals to me....All the best & hope you are doing well....
DB9 is a classic design which has always looked great and always will. Can be very expensive to keep in good condition though. 997s look like new beetles but with more overhang, I'd rather get a working 996 than a broken 997 for £16k!
Funnily enough was looking at RS5s on autotrader yesterday. The aston martin V8 vantage is another good shout and one i have my eye on though would need to spend a few extra thousand to get one than the DB9
I have always loved the Maserati Grand Turismo for its prestige, its looks and the sound it makes! Pure filth that car... The Aston DB9 looks fantastic too... By the way, the Alfa 156 gta has a 0-100km in 6.5 seconds. And indeed, the Busso engine is an absolute peach! If it wasn't drinking petrol for fun the way it did i could have been temped to buy the 147 gta, that's as much as i love them... (I drove one several times as my big brother had one around 2006). Cracking cars... I have a 997 c2s manual 2006 (bigger IMS bearing solving that issue) and i absolutely love it! The bore scoring issue is well known and also well hyped! It affects a minority of cars and this can be refuced by not driving the car like a hooligan from cold, and fit a low temperature thermostat too... Other than that, enjoy the damn thing, they look brilliant and they drive equally as brilliantly! 🥳❤️😎. PS: if you want a 997 c2s manual and with the chrono pack, from 2006, do not expect to pay less than £24k for a well maintained car and below 100k on the clock... And remember, change its oil religiously every year, with the proper stuff!
I feel like if you turn up to a car meet in the Merc SEC, Focus RS or 156 GTA then you're getting proper attention. The DB9 and Maserati will get a little, then the rest are nice looking, but park any of them in a row with the Alfa, Merc and Ford and they'd be invisible. Best looking car for this price...that Merc is in with a shout, it's probably something older. I'd have a proper look, but Autotrader doesn't work for me at the moment! I contacted their support, no idea why, but it's like their server thinks my overuse of it is a DDoS attack and is blocking me 🤣 Either that or my antivirus hates it. Or one of them is trying to convince me not to blow my savings on a V8 🙄 I'm not going to listen if it's that one...
@@CarsWithJB I genuinely wonder if Autotrader has a lower threshold for DDoS detection than our threshold for nerding out on cars 🤣 I do mostly use it on another computer though, so I'm thinking antivirus...
I love the gearstick countdown but you could use the R for another car that would be a reserve!
Debating the F type. I would love the V8, but I just can't get over the cost of taxing a V8 in the UK, it's like insuring the car twice.

Same price as taxing my 2008 Mercedes SL350….and that’s only a 3.5L V6.
Tax up in January on my XKR-S, a nice £800 new year present. The pleasure of driving a V8 makes it just about tolerable
Awesome list bro the Jaguar is barely mentioned I saw a beautiful red one here in South Africa's international airport O.R Tambo, that thing was sounding super nice
That is an amazing selection of cars for 20k, especially when every new car seems to cost 80k plus.

That’s so cool, and agreed, they’re built so much better than a lot of modern Mercedes too!
I always look forward for your shows I think you're amazing person😂🎉good job

Loved your hat tip to your Alfa.
How's that going for you?
Good so far, I've already done around 2k miles in it!

Nice necklace 🫡🤲
Did you know ford made a loss on the mk1 Rs the sum of its parts was more then they charged

The vantage is a lovely car and probably the more sensible decision! I just love the look of the DB9 🤙🏽
@@CarsWithJBI looked at a vantage and was also advised to be careful with those also.
Things like headlights going wrong, £2000 per headlight 😮

Glad my 156 snuck in there 😅 - and the same has been happening to me with Autotrader! Of course I do spend a huge amount of time on it… but still…….

Must admit that the MK1 Focus Rs’s are severely overpriced on my opinion.
Hey there I love the videos been watching for a while any chance u can make a video about touring cars up to 20 k 🎉❤
Imagine being financially blessed enough to call dropping 20k ‘cheap’.
Good list other than rs5. Most people would think that is any car
Still a very nice looking car, but yeah it is relatively invisible.
Bad thing is under labour they will tax the hell out of all these cars.. because labour love easy targets
All overpriced shite
Alfa v6 has to be most overrated engine of all time
