A Hidden Layer for AI threat detection

HiddenLayer, a cybersecurity company born in Austin, is at the forefront of the rapidly evolving AI landscape. The company provides a comprehensive cybersecurity solution aimed at safeguarding all forms of artificial intelligence.
CEO and co-founder, Chris Sestito, talked with “Tech This Out” host Walt Maciborski. He says HiddenLayer’s primary mission is to prevent hackers from corrupting AI training data and to ensure that threat actors cannot induce hallucinations in AI models or steal them.
Sestito explains that there are ways to bypass the rules set for these models, a process known as ‘jailbreaking.’ This could lead to models being manipulated into performing inappropriate actions, such as instructing on how to create a bomb.
HiddenLayer acknowledges that the threats to AI are significant and complex, particularly for high-value targets in the defense and banking sectors. These threats can lead to financial gain, espionage, and business disruption.
