      @@everydayirace After doing some research I found that the likely cause is the slosh module found in the cluster. The module can be bypassed to restore gauge operation. I'll give it a go

    Thanks man, great video. I have a stock 98 ranger. Coolant temp is reading too low. I grounded out the coolant temp sensor and it went max cold. I took a magnet and verified the gauge can go full hot. Going to try a 200-220 ohm resistor and see if that takes care of it

    • @everydayirace

      When you ground coolant temp sensor gauge should read full hot.

      The 95-97 gauge cluster is actually blue with white dials when you replace the bulbs with Sylvania 194 LEDs. The dim factory 194 bulbs turn the blue guages green. Still dimmable. My 96 has been this way for 4 years now.

      This applies to 98+ gauge clusters that get installed in 95-97 trucks, since 95-97 ranger parts are becoming harder to find.

    Question.
    What gauge clusters are compatible with my 95 mazda b2300. I'm assuming its the exact same one as a 95' ranger cluster.
    Per my comment on your other video, I am having issues with the odometer, speedometer, trip sensor and coolant temp gauge.
    I guess I'll try to replace the whole thing. Just want to see what options there are.
    Also, my cluster has no tachometer, and its a manual trans. It can still fit a regular ckuster correct?

    • @everydayirace
      @everydayirace  4 года назад +1

      95 will plug in and work like stock, 96-97 will work, but check engine light will not work, 98-03 will work, coolant temp will read higher and cel will not work. Plugging a 95 cluster with tach in my 95 worked, except the tach, might need some extra work.

      @@everydayirace I actually got a 96' cluster from a junk yard 3 mins from my house for $40.
      I hooked it up, and the fuel tank marks almost empty, which I will test since I just got the trick and haven't fueled it up, so I might fuel it up and try it. Tach works, haven't tested speedometer, nor odometer will test tomorrow. The interesting thing is that the coolant temp sensor marks hot, just like the other old cluster. Im guessing it might be a sensor in the truck?
      Anyway. Thanks for the help!!! You are awesome. Just wanted to update you.
