I was 19 and watched the first half in awe. I was a college student at the opposite end of Indiana (IU Southeast in New Albany) living at home and commuting to classes. We had an appointment for a family portrait photo, for which I had to leave the house at halftime. I saw highlights for the even more remarkable second half later, and to this day whenever I look at the family photo, I think about those second half highlights.
Had the fortune of attending a Notre Dame football game back in 1997. That atmosphere and excitement surrounding a football weekend is a must experience. The pep rally is tremendous.
@@8avexp Well, that call was considered vindicated, as he just wasn't successful in the top college position. He was a nice person, but in over his head.

My very first college football game. I was 16 years old and drove to South Bend with a friend from Melrose Park, Illinois.

Another one with great picture quality. I wish I had saved my money on those old game DVDs I bought years ago!
I believe this is 10/22/77.
Switching from Rusty Lisch to Joe Montana at QB helped the 77 Notre Dame teak a lot.
Had Montana played against Ole Miss, ND would have won.
It really picked up the Irish “teak spirit!” 😉
Green grass, green jerseys, to bad college football doesn’t exist anymore
They were selling Dump Devine bumper stickers outside Notre Dame Stadium on the day of this game.
Those are collector’s items, for their irony.
@@brianarbenz1329 I wonder if any Oust Faust memorabilia is worth anything now.

@@brianarbenz1329 Agreed. ND never should have hired him.
What the hell was that referee having a seizure when that first USC field goal was missed
Digger Phelps never won an NCAA Tournament. Irish won 3 football Nattys when he was there
