Didn't want to spend $59 on this. I bought a new gas cap, disconnected/reconnected the negative battery cable and it cleared the engine check light. Great info though. 👍🏾

Funny... if you look up that code it told you it maybe your gas cap. Corrected maybe your gas cap. But let's be honest. 98% of the time it is a different reason why you get the same code. You can have the same code with a new gas cap. Yes that is a simple fix is just replacing the gas cap. Let's be honest most of the time that code because of the EVAP system. The main issue is is because people try to pack your fuel. Which that means is when you are feeling your vehicle and it goes click and it stops refueling that is when you stop fueling. It does not mean to continue and see how much fuel can get in there until completely pours out of your filler neck. There is a big hose at the top of your fuel neck. And this is the issue why you get the code 90% of the time

I got a question about this , because my wife did this when driving my truck . Overfilled the gas tank and after she brought it back reading that code . I’ve replaced pcv valve and gas cap . Still the light comes on & it only happened after she overfilled it . Any tips to get to the exact hose or a video reference ? I’m pretty sure what you just stated is my issue with Evap code . Any tips or help is appreciated ! Merry x mas !

I got the light on mine. When I drive, that "ECO Mode" doesn't come on any more.

Never figured it out. It comes and goes, before I had a older battery and I think that's why in some way. I took the battery out of my Plymouth and the codes stopped.

@LactoseTheIntolerant that's what Chrysler does. They call it MDS or something. Sometimes the check engine light meant the MDS wasn't working so I was using all 8 cylinders. It didn't bother me but it was odd because idk where it came from and where it went to. Came and left. Hasn't happened in 30,000 miles

I have a Jeep 09, same company same problem and I did same with mine and did come back on ...but evap problem after I try all kind of stuff even ripped off by the mechanics, I realized same error is for solenoid pump and is not expensive. Even bought the computer, some told me is rare to have problem with car computer.

Yea there is a sensor on gas tank that also goes bad. Mine went bad about a year later and changed it. No more issues

I unplugged my battery and plugged it back in and it didn't reset my check engine light. Crap.

This is a very common problem with the Dodge Ram. Everyone I know that has the Ram truck has this issue, but the repair shops, even the dealership can’t fix the problem without charging you hundreds of dollars. Such a rip off.

2009 ram 1500. Orange check engine light and see dealer note. When check engine light flashes engine looses power

If it doesn't clear the check engine light the problem maybe wasn't fixed.
