I like that he didnt touch the lineup or the bench..thats not how he's operated in the past. I gotta say, this particular club has a mojo thats almost palpable. You can see how much they like playing with each other. Josh Bell and B. Drury are good dudes and well liked, but they didnt fit in because as soon as they got here, you could feel how burdensome they became because of how much they struggled. Getting Arraez and Cease as early as we did, was the smartest thing that Preller did all season...and its going to pay off going down the stretch. Tanner Scott?..is a MONSTER. And Adam has made us better. I have faith that Joe can pull himself together and will himself to step up. But I STILL way, we dont win a WS unless Tatis 'goes off'. I mean that..because he has a skill set and intangibles that no other players, besides Elly de la Cruz and Mookie Betts has.
People can complain all they want about AJ and depleting the farm system, but if I was given the choice of AJ or a GM that doesn't do anything to improve their organization (ie - Rockies), I would take AJ all day long...he's what makes our team fun to watch, not just on the field. Thanks AJ for all you do!
Will take it. Best that could be done while keeping Salas and De Vries. Still a bit concerned about how payroll works next season because some prospects who could have filled out the roster have now gone, but the urgency with “win now” is understood.
I’m not a fan of AJ but he’s given up nothing for a playoff run . I’m glad we kept Eguy Rosario. He will be getting real playing time next year because of talent and cost. We need Musgrove this year to have a chance, I’m on board
Devries and Salas the only prospects left. All of our top prospect pitchers are gone. I don't think the farm system has egg plants, cabbage, or squash growing for trades. This has to be the year. Next year, theres nothing to trade.
Not that they're top 100 fangraphs material necessarily, but we have some good pitchers still in our farm system. Check out Bradgley Rodriguez, Isaiah Lowe, and Francis Pena. Plus, Preller drafted a shit load of pitchers in this year's draft, I think he knew Snelling and Lesko were probably heading out sooner or later. Kash Mayfield looks very promising. Everybody thought the farm system was gone after the Soto deal only for Preller to bring it back in one year. I trust his process.
@IAmJoeJericho I mean let's look at it from the beginning of the year, he was asked to shed as much payroll as he could to stay under the CBT while still producing. Incredibly hard. Profar is a great story but I'll be real and say I don't think Preller was expecting anything close to an MVP season. So with that, he wouldn't be leaving this year. But now, he's leveraged the farm in a way where if they don't make the playoffs this year he will either be fired in the off-season or next year after if there isn't results.
@@Pain-rk7hu if I knew I would be getting fired next year, yeah, I would get rid of the top prospects for a chance to go to the WS with top players I traded prospects for.

Padres have one of the best farm systems. Prospects rarely payout and we need to win now. Great moves AJ
"Not you Kevin" 😂😂😭😭😭😭
Kevin getting denied an invite was funny 😂
“Is that an invitation?” love the exchange with Cassavell. And lots of good info, including on Tatis. Thank you Marty.
Love that AJ still has the stach going
He looks better, without the mustache
Its for Peter Seidler @@brando7266

I feel the same. He’s done a lot for the organization
Like it or not ..... A.J is doing his job . Now players it time to do yours ... let get it and get to big dance
Good content as always Marty. I miss hearing you and DSmith and you on the airwaves.
AJ BABY 👑
Hes may be the most aggressive with his the am but they have to hands down be top 3 in reloading their farm system after making trades....its crazy
My God my Padres better win the ws. We have no future players left
Devries, Salas? Are those not future MLB players? Come on dude
There’s a draft every year.

We needed Randy Arozarena here near our dear Mexico 🇲🇽🇲🇽 i hope they could get it from seattle now😢 soon
thats not probable but hey atleast they have estrada

Freaking Tatis needs to get back and actually show up more than an average player too. Our rookie is outplaying him.
202(4) Peter ✊🏾
Preller needs to sign Trevor Bauer already let’s go
YES!!
At league minimum too! There must be something the public doesn’t know, but it makes no sense as to why he has already been signed by someone.
@@fast45 must be something to do with manfred blacklisting him
@@Sdukes001has to be that, he's killing it in Mexico, and would only cost 500k, for the season
Greats moves, bullpen was our weakness, now it isn’t. We may not have one anymore.
It seems like our starting pitching and hitting rotate being bad in between our winning streaks.
I hope that AJ doesn't give up the whole farm systems top players.
There's really only 2 left and they were pretty much untouchable at this deadline.
