    The handle with the spring is used to slow down the cut. Turn the handle clockwise and it will put more tension on the frame and cause it to fall slower. Also by adjusting the blade roller guides you will be able to get the blade to cut straight instead of at an angle. Do yourself a favor and buy a good german made blade. I have installed one of those blades on mine and it has lasted me 3 years and I have cut quite a bit of iron and aluminum. After I made the adjustment to the blade roller guides I am able to cut a .020 thin piece off a 2" round solid aluminum stock and also on 2" square tubing with 1/4" thick wall. The trick is to tighten the spring tension and slow down the rate of fall

    I hid mine by camo painting and setting flower pots on it. Make sure to set pots as high as possible and use flowers that hang down. Easily removed when you want to use saw.

    Hi! you need to tighten the blade more so it doesnt slip.
    you have the option to angle the wheel for the blade.
    cheers/swede

    That looks awesome. I would never have a need for that but I like it. So when are you going to do a shop tour? I’d love to see your setup

      It as a luxury buy for me, especially for the space it takes up, and I won't use it that often, I just bought the plywood to build a new miter saw stand, it is amazing how much stuff was in the old one, and it is now stacked every where, my shop is not that big to begin with..... also in the middle of 4'x4' CNC build in my spare time, not a lot of that lately, not much room for making videos until I get those project done

      @@snapwholeharborfreightreviews I have a workshop in my garage that’s starting to fill up. All of my bigger power tools I have stands for so that takes up a lot of space. I still haven’t used that Bauer thickness planer but I have a project I’m going to start here soon.

    How square were the cuts? Im interested in one just to make simple reliable straight cuts without too much prep

      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Год назад +1

      the cuts are square, but you have to setup the bandsaw correctly, blade tension is very important and setting the clamp tight, but mine is cutting square after I setup the saw - Thanks for subscribing!

    Looks like it would need to be anchored to a base for stability…I would love to get one of those….how hard would it be to hide from wife?

      no hiding this one! I had to think alot before I bought this, I have a small shop, but once I bought it, I'm glad I did, I use it a lot more than I thought I would, very useful - I wondered how stable it would be with the wheels on one side, but wheels are mounted so they only work on a completely flat floor, so it is stable, I originally thought the wheels were a bad design, but then I figured out they are made to be used as a last resort, I have a 1 inch step from driveway to shop slab and the wheels can't even handle that - hard to describe - I was using it to cut 10 ft pieces of 1 inch conduit for a new CNC machine I'm building, and no only is the saw big, you need to have a lot of area around the saw when you use it to cut long pieces like that, that is when the wheels come in handy, I keep it back against the wall, and pull it out in the open to use it,- I recommend this if you have the space - I plan a follow up video on setting up the blade with more detail and setting the saw up for vertical use

    Read the *_INSTRUCTIONS FIRST and then adjust the tension spring that offsets the weight of the saw !!_*

      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  6 месяцев назад

      glad I did that first when I did the setup, that is exactly how I want the tension to be on this saw, I'm surprised you set the tension different, but you must have different needs for your saw than I have, that is the best thing about the tension being adjustable, different settings for different needs - thanks for subscribing!

    Hi would this work to cut rail road track?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  4 месяца назад

      it should cut it, I would get about a 24 tooth blade, it has a great feature for cutting something like railroad rails, get the blade tight and set the blade on the rail and it has enough weight to keep cutting, and has an auto off when it is done, one of the best feature of this saw - thanks for subscribing!

    Just had to take it back the roller guides way out spec the vertical roller does not stay centered wonders back and forth to the point the blade jams and breaks in 2 / would have to fix this for it to be a working saw = press the pin out and some type washers to keep the roller centered and not pinch jam the blade. Can't imagine how many of these quality control mistakes are out there.

      either I got lucky or you got unlucky, I do not have any issues with the saw, very solid saw and I can make repeatable cuts one after another and use the auto off function for unattended cuts with no issues - thanks for subscribing!

    can it cut 1/8" steel bro?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Год назад +1

      if you tune the blade to be tight enough to not flex, and you are patient, yes it will, the lever design will allow you to rest the blade on the steel and let the weight of the saw hold pressure on the steel and when the cut is finished, the saw will auto off - great saw - thanks for subcribing!

      I put a German made blade on mine. After adjustments I was able to cut a .020 off the end of a 1/8 x 1” square tube
      I have cut a 4x4 piece of solid aluminum just to see if it would. It took awhile but it did it. I built a nice roll around stand with slide out trays out of an old engine stand. Now it is at the right height to work with. I’m really surprised by this thing. I have had it 3 or so years and use it all the time in my fab shop. I have a jet at the busy end of the place but this one works great for my projects
