Great Video, Thanks for the detailed explanation. I've got about 250lbs of weight on each side of the storage pins. When I when to lower the pull up handles, the weight nearly pulled my rack apart lol. Definitely going to do this.
Curious.....so i dont end up with the same problem.....Did you have your 45s on the top storage pins or bottom when it almost fell apart? I’ll put mine opposite of what you had and hope for the best til i can get this add on done.
@@tjpont2149 I would recommend putting the 45s on the bottom especially if you have multiples. Think about it like this... You wouldn't want to build a mansion on top of a palm tree. If that makes any sense lol
Great video. Would you take the challenge of adding a height extension to bring those pull-up bars higher? I would even buy the kit if you were to make one 💪🏽💪🏽
I intentionally went searching for this video after i saw the additional bar this morning. I was going to ask you about it but said to myself let me just check and see....and sure enough you had a video explaining. Soooooo.........how much do you charge to make and paint these??? (Laughing not laughing....LOL)
I have looked into making and making and selling that bar. In a couple of different versions. The main problem is that I can't source the bar material locally. I have to order it, and shipping/freight is crazy high. I would have to price it so high it wouldn't be worth it. If I am ever able to do it I will post something here and let everybody know. Thanks for watching.
@@JScottHelms no worries. I was trying to take the easy way out. Lol. We have a friend that works in a metal / fabrication shop. He said no prob he can make it for us. Thanks for the gift of this idea
WHY....didn't you just drill the existing top bar (pullup/dip bar) in the middle and add your eye bolt to it? Then you wouldn't have the weights banging into the bottom cross bar, wouldn't need the stool, etc. Any particular reason you went the more difficult route of adding a new bar up top???
I initially used the pull-up/dip bar, but got tired of having to remove the pulley every time I needed to use or move the bar. I decided to add the bar in the back so I could leave the pulley up all the time. I have used the bar for several different things since installing it, so for me the extra work was worth it. It might not be worth it for everybody but it solved a problem and gave me options. Works for me. Thanks for watching.
The audio is a little rough, sorry about that. Don't know what I did wrong.

I like your improvement. I am actually looking to get one of these racks cause i liked your presentation.
I think you will enjoy it.
do the weights swing around when they are being pulled up and down?
