I tried to germinate 6 lemon seeds. The only seed that has become a really nice tree was the tiny, chipped seed. You were very right that it can still grow :)
@Richard Jimenez she said it helps speed up the process (referring to the other comment). No it's not necessary, but it's definitely quicker putting seeds in water for 24hrs first.
@Richard Jimenez Did you soak and peel the outer shell from your seeds? I ordered some Meyer Lemon tree seeds from Amazon snd I want to give them every chance to grow successfully. Thank you.
@Richard Jimenez and her pointbwas it speeds up the process. You can't talk about "let it grow naturally " when you yourself are using potting soil. Lol
I grew two lemon trees from seed. They were 7 ft tall in 4 years . They had rich green leaves. No blooms yet. But I had to sell them. I got $100 for each one. I miss them !!!
Haha, you might’ve sold them lemon trees that will never produce fruit. Only time will tell, but fruit trees are notorious for creating rootstocks that don’t bear fruit, or bear very different fruit than the parent. Props on the entrepreneurship though!

Hi Great video, I've got six orange trees growing now after seeing this vid. To remove the outer skin I just nipped off the pointed end of the seed with nail clippers and then they were easy to peel.
After germinating my own guavas in March my oldest daughter saved some mandarin seeds to try grow her own. It was pure guess work with the guavas so I thought I should probably look up how to do it properly after watching my mother in law try the paper towel method and fail. I wouldn’t have thought to let them dry first and then soak! My daughter is very excited to watch her seeds germinate and grow. Thanks for this informative video!
Oh, indeed! The Dear Lady's Hands are truly Pretty for Little Gardner, and She's got a Beautiful Heart in Her Voice. I wish to thank Her with total Due Respect for this detailed information. I am truly grateful! Thanks a lot!
Beautiful explanation! Last year I was focused on avocados and now I have about 10 little plants. I love them. So this year I'm focusing on citrus trees. Thank you for the video:)
I want to thank you! Because of this video I started two grapefruit two orange trees unfortunately one orange tree passed and the grapefruits passed but I have got a very beautiful orange tree that is now coming up, so thank you again for your wonderful advice it works wonderful

This video may have taken a bit of time to get through, but you have given me all that I need to try and germinate my own clementine tree. I look forward to using these techniques to grow my own tree. Thank you.
This was really nice . I already have two orange plants , which i germinated my self , and they are looking so pretty . Now , gonna try the same with lemon. Thanks for the tip about put the seeds first in warm water . I didt know that. Success with everything.
Thanks for trying to make yourself understandable, I know English is not your first/native lingo, I understood you every step of the way...keep it up! I enjoyed the vid and will follow your instructions carefully.
bob just gave you a shout out so i came to this video. thank you! i cant tell you how happy i am that you are sharing this. i have tried everything i could including peeling the pointy end a little ways down like a banana peel and even that didn't work. i saved seeds anyway so now thanks to you i know i have hope and as a new subscriber i am HAPPY! :-)
Hi and welcome! Thank you for subscribing and watching the video! What seeds are you germinating now? Did you succeed in removing the outer shell of the seeds? They are tricky to remove and if you let the seeds soak for a few hours it will be easier to remove them.
Little Home Gardener i am going to sprout some lemon seeds for sure now.!! i seen that bob's pineapple seeds have sprouted so now i can try mine! i am watching your videos so hopefully i can sprout an avacado seed. i have had these in water, in soil, in a baggie of water. i have tried them in the light and in the dark but watching you i feel i have hope! the ones in water i have tried suspending it in the water, i have tried sitting in a glass of water filled halfway up the seed. i have left the papery stuff on, i have removed it.and still no luck. the closest i ever come is the bottom will start splitting but that's as far as i got. no root ever showed up. i tried not changing the water for a week as well as changing it more often. then there is people like you that could just look at a seed and make it grow! :-) i tried sprouting a mango seed once. i planted it in dirt and waited 4 months. nothing. but i did not know that the hard covering was covering a seed! SO happy to watch you!! :-)
Good luck with the lemon seeds! I put the avocados into luke warm water. I change the water every day or when I remember, but don't let them dry out. And!! As soon as you get the seed out of the avocado put it into water. If you let it be on the air too long without water it will germinate slower - this is what I found. So immediatelly put it into water. You can clean it later if you don't have time, just let it be in the water. Once the bottom splits just continue to keep it in the water. It needs some time. I have now 4 germinating, and one grows quickly, it already has a nice root, while the other one even though it split already, there are still no roots. It can take weeks for it to grow a root, just wait for it! :) Mangos are not so easy to germinate, once they get too much water, the other time it is not enough, they become rotten easily. My Mom once said that I am growing the plants just by looking at them - which might be true. I like staring at them telling them how beautiful they are and then they grow. :D (But once I don't do that...)
Little Home Gardener thank you for letting me know about putting the avacado seed in water straight away and clean it later. and the warm water is definitely something i am going to try! maybe i won't have to beg it to grow now! lol.
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you mam. Your patience in explaining and teaching, as well as the handling of the seeds and entire programme is awesome. God bless you🙏🙏🙏
Another process that worked well for me is to do the same process but instead place in moist soil. Wrap the top with Saran Wrap and place in sunny area. Like paper towel this creates a greenhouse effect. Cheers
Thank you so much. I tried planting some bitter orange straight in the soil without peeling the shells and they didn't grow at all. Now thanks to you, I know what to do.
For everyone wondering if this actually works, it does! I definitely do not have a green thumb but my seeds germinated after just a few days. I’m going to wait for the roots to grow a bit longer and will then put them in soil.
Thank you so much...i never had any luck until last yr when my daughter and i stuck avocado seeds into shotglasses of water to try to get it to germinate and they did however we did not have any room oh 2 avocado seeds once germinated and roots were plentiful we planted them in quart containers where they grew quite rapidlt almost 4 feet tall...when we went to hawaii we bought 2 huge we thought were some tropical fruit but nope they were the size of a grapefruit ..
Thank you I took some lemon pops yesterday and for some reason soaked them in water. I looked.at them.today and thought I wonder.... so on to you tube I come and found your vlog.
