Ches in todays stream was extremely jarring man. Normally it's fine because it's about normal football banter, but today it was about such an important topic in football and society as a whole. [1] At 33:22 Ches is asked a very simple question by Dayo: “If you were the owner of Chelsea, what punishment would you give to Enzo Fernandes” Ches answers “It’s hard to say“ [2] Again at 34:57 Dayo ASKS CHES AGAIN. “I’m asking what would YOU do, not what the club would do” Ches doubles down on his answer “I don’t know, it depends on the investigation (lol there's a video), it depends on the gravitas, I don’t know” Then Mo is asked the same question at 36:17, and eventually answers: “If I owned the club, I don’t want that player to be playing for the club again” So why isn’t Ches able to say the same thing???? Hmmmm Then at 36:38 Ches responds that everyone misunderstands him and insinuates that he is smarter than most people and everyone else is actually clouded by what he says and the way he says it LOL. [3] Finally at 37:20 Dayo asks FOR THE THIRD TIME. “If you owned the club…” …Ches then butts in to gaslight him “Dayo is gonna shout, Dayo focus on the road, focus on the road, focus on the road” That is the definition of gaslighting. Then Ches doubles down by mentioning other players crimes at 38:14. “We’ve had players who done other things. What’s worse than the other?” Guys it’s very simple. Your employer can fire you if you’re racist and they can also fire you if you have committed SA. “What’s worse than the other” means absolutely nothing to the employer. The employer is not a court of law determining a sentence. You’re fired FOR BOTH of these things, even if one is worse than another. Finally at 51:27 Ches then gaslights the chat “People in the chat are saying I didn’t say my answer, they don’t listen” The reason the chat are on you Ches is because when you were asked the first THREE times by Dayo (all three times linked above for everyone to see) - YOU DID NOT ANSWER. Just answer questions properly, stop gaslighting other panel members and the chat. Then no-one will be on your case for dodging the Qs, it’s as simple as that. Do better - especially when it's about serious topics.
@@slattszn1568 Racism has no place in football in this country, If you are racist, you should be fired as is the case in any job here. Worrying about "where will he play if he's fired" or "he will still continue to harbour these views elsewhere, therefore doesn't fix anything" or "other crimes are worse" is a moot point to the question of what should Chelsea do. Fire him. He can be easily employed in Argentina, where clearly we have learnt this week that these views are commonplace.
Ches has literally chose player FC over racism 😳. An it’s not different to John Terry, John Terry was on live television and the world saw exactly what he said
Mo, that is completely wrong for you too say it was Lisandro and Garnacho in the video! I respected you and your opinion until I heard that! Garnacho is not visible at all in the video and Lisandro is sat next to Romero (who you said was at the back and not involved) on FaceTime to his partner. That’s dangerous misinformation to spread.
Ches embarassed himself big time. I used to think Don was the one who was Chelsea fanboy who supports everything Chelsea does & praises any Chelsea players even if he had to lie to deflect banter. Even Don can call things out when his team or players messes up As a black man Ches would rather be a safety blanket for a racist Argentina player in order to protect his club from the noise. Ches should be ashamed of himself. Ches loves gaslighting when it comes to all things Chelsea & loves to spin anything negative coming at the club, deflecting, pretends like everyone is the mad one and everything will be fine (without any legit reason). He's acting like the Chelsea team which has alot of African/Caribean heritage players playing for European nations aren't gonna be angry at Enzo & done with him. 4-5 players unfollowed Enzo already, there 80m CB Wesley Fofana called out Enzo racism on social media which went viral, a dressing room that will soon be very toxic environment for Enzo ahead of a new manager Maresca era. Ches seemed more annoyed that people find it a big problem. His biggest concern is Chelsea have negative eyeballs on them and he tried all stream to gaslight the situation, refusing to clearly answer simple questions. Ches then asks questions to the panel in response, only to be mad that they gave there opinions & saying 'Its your opinion not facts'. Respectfully Ches has the emotional stability of a 7 year old. He is huffing & puffing at people giving there opinions on Enzo fernandez being racist, all because its a Chelsea player. He takes it like its football banter when it isn't & he has to deflect or defend Chelsea player. Chelsea fans prior to this situation were gaslighting Enzo Fernandez Chelsea career, blaming teammates for his struggle, blaming the system, blaming his coach. Team played much better without him & gaslighting still continued. Chelsea fans refuse to accept a 106m isn't a success that they lie to themselves. If Enzo cost 20m with the exact same skillset + performance & never won World cup, he would be out the door already for 30m & Chelsea fanboys like Ches would be speaking on his sale being a profit. Ches is one of these fans forcing themselves to defend Enzo everytime, even took this Enzo racism situation just like any Enzo criticism, gaslighting the situation. Ches even acting like there isn't a difference in accountability between Enzo who aired this to the world by going live, chanting something racist & exposing himself. Reality is if it wasn't shown live it wouldn't have become a huge controversy rightly or wrongly.
best course of action in my opinion for him (and potentially every player in that video) is to stay at the club but be banned from football activities while attending mandatory rehabilitation classes for at least a season. slash wages if possible. in the following season he must pass a player and staff assessment to be allowed to return. if he does not pass with the approval of all concerned players+staff, restart the process. he's under contract until 2032 and should not be allowed to represent my club, or any other professional football club if he does not learn and change in my opinion.
Also tbh idk why city fans are not saying anything about alvarez ,i see people expecting utd fans to condemn garnacho and lisandro when nothing is proven on them yet but alvares we saw clear proof
Interesting convo today. What a turn of events. There is professional code of conduct. Enzo's club does not have a track record of doing the"right thing" but new owners so they might do differently. Maybe other clubs will take the lead.
John Terry in 2011, the 2015 racial abuse of Souleymane Sylla in Paris, Raheem Sterling in 2018, Graham Rix & Gwyn Williams in the 90's, Paul Canoville in the 80s. Every Chelsea fan should be forced to be educated on the history of racism at their club. But I agree with you, they have new owners now, it's time to turn a leaf. Starting with Enzo.
Three points from me: 1. Overall there is a conversation as to why this is bad and wrong from Enzo and the rest; 2. You can't tell people how to feel about something no matter their race or ethnicity as everyone has different life experience; 3. Some will not care as in to not get involved in the situation and just go about being footballers That last point is what I've heard being the most divisive: will other players, managers etc. be scalded for not getting involved as to just get on with the game or will they be seen as complicit in the whole thing?
Fact is Chelsea has Reece James, Colwill, Sterling, Maduake and Palmer all have African descent and play for England, do the Argentines have a song for them other than crying about losing the war.

I dont like the FFF but what the Argentina team has done is disgraceful. International players should be smarter than this. To go live chanting that is extremely idiotic.
So, saying a player is from a certain country now is racism… right… that’s European doble standards! Wake up! Once Europeans give back everything they stole from South America, Africa and Asia, then I’ll start thinking the message they (europeans) are trying to convey is actually sincere. I’m Argentinian btw.
It’s not nice whatever it is. You wouldn’t like it if you see yourself as Argentinian and you’re being made fun of for having roots elsewhere. It makes you feel like you don’t belong, so it is perpetuating racism this sort of thing.
