So many great memories of this song, and album! Growing up in the 70s had to be the best decade to be a teenager.. My oldest brother bought every Queen album when it was released, sadly he is no longer with us but the memories are Forever! Love and miss you Lonnie Wayne Bowling AND FREDDIE ALSO....R. I. P.
Listening to something like this... it helps me realise the craft that went into all those songs on all those albums. This was BRILLIANT, yet Queen chose another version to release on the original album. I shudder to think how much brilliance from Freddy is still sitting on dusty tape reels.
I agree with you! He was so brilliant, the whole band was but Freddie knew exactly how he wanted the band to be when he got lead singer! In my opinion, if Freddie didn't join them, their wouldn't be QUEEN!? HE MADE THAT BAND. HE NAMED the band, and that's why their music is still alive. Just wish he could've seen how much he is still LOVED AND MISSED ALL THESE YEARS LATER... HE WAS A LEGEND, JUST LIKE HE ALWAYS KNEW HIMSELF TO BE! We love and miss you, you're the brightest star in the solar system!!
My favorite version of the song. One of the rare songs I don't prefer a live version of. This might be in my top five Brian May songs. And All of them are spot on in this version. Freddie... I miss you on a daily basis. Thank goodness for these recordings!
@nickxero2740 you haven't heard of the bootlegs yet then. They performed this song in the NOTW Tour and Jazz Tour (November 1977 - May 1979) they unfortunately dropped it by the Crazy Tour (November-December 1979) just when Freddie's vocal prime started.
He’s clearly reading the words as he hasn’t learned them yet. Great insight into the craft. They really worked at these songs. ‘I want you to be a little bit angry…’ glorious…
I’m a 22 year old kid loved queen since I was 10-11 years old. They just never fail to amaze me, and it’s tracks like this, that I live for, greatest rock band of all time
In fact Brian borrowed that technique from someone who learned it by seeing Billy Gibbons play. But in fact, tapping technique is even older than that, probably older than electric guitars.
OMG!!!!! I did know an alternative Version, but it's Not this Version!!!! Both are awesome!!!! I love this too!!! Queen surprise me after many years!!!!! Thank you so much to Sharing This!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
In this version Freddie changes some passages but, most of all, he sings differently than in the official release. His voice and his singing, here, seem more similar and in line with the way he sang in the late 70s. It serms to me that in the official release he was singing in a way closer to the 80s, with a more harsh voice
Not really, its a fan favorite, and c onsidered one of Queen's best by multiple listings of their best albums. Critics besides Rolling Stone adore it to this day too.
I started listening to Queen when I was 14... now I am 55... and I still get goosebumps on this song...
Same, i started when i was 12, now i'm 17. And it doesn't matter how many times i listen to them it's always an amazing experience!!
Ditto, listened to this in 1997 for the first time when I was 13 and 26 years later I'm still here being amazed by It's Late❤
It's late is quite simply an epic, Queen made many, genius band.
❤
Me as well
I have been a Queen fan since 1977. I never heard this version. Absolutely incredible!!! Thank you for sharing
Me neither... it's fabulous ❤
What makes this band so good was ,as good as this sounds they knew it wasn't good enough.

I've listened to a lot of music. But "news of the world" is in my top 20 albums of all time

My thoughts exactly
@Nick Xero they played this live quite a bit actually

The News of the World sessions and The Miracle sessions are sonically stunning. Anyone for the Innuendo sessions? 😁
I love the piano in the backing track. It adds depth.

Una JOYA de Brian, poco conocida. Sólo valorada por quienes amamos a la Reina.

3:51 Tapping before Eddie Van Hallen, Brian is a genius!!!!
In fact Brian borrowed that technique from someone who learned it by seeing Billy Gibbons play.
But in fact, tapping technique is even older than that, probably older than electric guitars.
Tapping began many years before Van Halen discovered it. He did advance it a lot further though.
grateful to be a queen fan in the present day because there's just the butt load of content
My favourite Queen song to sing along with. Cool version!
Probably my all-time favorite Queen song!
I love it : To hear Freddie's voice like this is so great . !!
OMG!!!!! I did know an alternative Version, but it's Not this Version!!!! Both are awesome!!!! I love this too!!! Queen surprise me after many years!!!!! Thank you so much to Sharing This!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤

Don’t it make you want to tell Freddie ,not a single second of these albums have you let us down!🥲🥲
Always one of my favourites from the early years. Incredible composition. This versión is great.
Another great song by queen and great album
This is precious💍
THE greatest band ever.

Brian really brought the thunder with this one. Holy Shit!!

Where do you get your ratings from?
@@gogoyubari366 well I run a ratings agency !!
Mandam muito bem esses danados!!
Sounds like a take or two before the album version. Sang it, listened to it, then had another go.
Maybe a couple of more takes before the album version
Much better than the album version ... Crazy!!!!
In the the verses rendition there's so much Paul Rodgers, whose voice Freddie used to love indeed :)
A simple thank you :)
Really lovely song💕🥇
Siempre gusta escuchar versiones raras, gracias.
Imagine being a song writer knowing you have Freddie Mercury to sing it.
It certainly gives you a few more options... 😉
Fantastic song.
{:o:O:}
queen -🎸🎸🎸🎸🤴🇲🇨☀️☀️
The rough versions are always better because they are not as perfect as the album ones ❤
I actually prefer this version over the album version.
sensacional
freddie's voice is in better shape this version.
It's pitch corrected
@@dillerson6681how do you know
Never for you Freddie ❤
I think that gets mine too
Как звучит риф. Обалдеть.
P.S. есть ли у Queen хоть одно сочинение не хит?
(Ignore my comment, I'm timestamping for myself to tab out the solo)
