It is absolutely amazing watching you paint those small details. They turn out so perfect. Thanks
Amazing build, I'm too old school for those modern low profile wheel sets, they just look toyish even on real cars. Great video!
Good to have you finally building plastic scale models again.
Love the build!
I immediately clicked on the video once I saw a 2nd gen TA 😃
I build my own custom F-bird back in the late 70's. She was a 72 Esprit, and I made her into a Formula/TA custom. I had her painted midnight blue metallic with a saddle int. mostly out of a 78 TA. The engine was a 400 out of a 70 GP which I rebuilt, with a 400 turbo trans.
I had a Formula hood with all the TA flairs too. I didn't put any stripes on her though.
When I was done, she was fast...and totally unique.
Thanks for the awesome video, and the memories you stirred up for me!
I'm freaking out on the color. It is too damn much. I love the pigmentation. It is awesome
I like the shaker breather painted body color, that is how I did the 2 kits I built. I just think that the shaker should stand out and when it's painted the same color as the stripe it kind of loses that detail. It's a beautiful build and Thank you for sharing. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE
Absolutely beautiful work always enjoy cheers KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝😎👍
You are one of the best I have ever seen. Amazing car
Feeling some old-school Overhaulin' Chip Foose vibes from the ride height and paintjob here, love it!
I like the look of the scoop. Nice Job.
So inspiring to see you build these models! Thanks for sharing.
again a very nice built and a super simple way to lower the bird. 👍
Crazy cool build! Myself, I would've went with a white scoop.. then go on to regretting I didn't go body color with it. Great choice. 👍 The lowering job? It's on your shelf, looks great. Sitting on my shelf, it would look even better! 😂
Cool build! Keep on building and posting your videos. I like everything you have been doing.
Tom, as usual this is an inspiring and amazing build. Your style is so clean; you achieve more realism with less detailing this way. Your color choice and customization, engine, etc. Is exactly in keeping with the latest American trends. I do prefer the body colored scoop, and the fasteners for the rocker covers would indeed be bolts! Thanks for what you do.
You sir are a guru! The air scoop looks awsome body colour. Love your vids
Looks great. It's all about personal choice. I wouldn't have had a stripe on it myself, but that's me. Just keep building to what makes you happy. 👍
Excellent work on this one. Thanks for sharing.
Great work Tom, those engine and wheels were such a wonderful addition to this project. Great colour combinations all around too, super well done 👍🏼👍🏼
Looks really good. Color combo is great.
thats a mean looking bird! great build!
At first I was a little skeptical about the body color but now that I see the complete build I’m amazed great as always also love those wheels and tires
Beautiful work 👍
Beautiful build, but those wheels and tires totally blow ! Dancing Bear makes some really nice aluminum wheels. A Pro Turing car in that body style usually has deep dish 17s 18s fats over monster disc brakes. A roll cage too, but to each his own. The paint and body is however, outstanding !
Awesome job 😎🚘
Find piece of work very interesting to watch, I'm inclined to agree with you the cover on hood looks better painted red.
Wow, awesome job on this, really came out nice. I like the body color on the shaker scoop, I've actually seen 1/1 scale Firebird's/TransAm's done that way. Looks great either way but as long as you like it that's all that matters. Thanks for sharing, have a great day. -David
That engine is really sweet👍
Great job bro
Wonderful work
Awesome build !
Cool build debated for a while but for me I would have painted the shaker white! But that paint job is gorgeous! 😁👌
awesome job Tom. love the new engine 👍
Very nice! When i grow up i want to build like you :)
Just great..! Every one have their own way to do it. Its ✅ ok.
Awesome Build!!!!
when i bought this i wasn’t expecting all this 😅
felicitaciones, el modelo quedo muy bien terminado.
As always, phenomenal work! I still have a lot to catch up on, but the firebirds have always held a special place in my heart. Plus the custom parts look amazing, and the color scheme you went with is gorgeous. I do think the red scoop is a good way to break up the line.
There's one thing I wanted to point out though, and I hope this doesn't come across as obnoxious or preachy, as I only mean it for informational purposes. The tires you've gotten for it are rotational, which essentially means they're grooved in a single direction instead of a generic split pattern. If I'm not mistaken this improves road grip and lends itself to a very sporty look for a lot of cars, and sometimes is used for weather-related issues like Michelin's Agilis CrossClimate2.
The big thing about them, though, is the way they're mounted. Normal, split pattern tires are mounted with the same side facing out on all wheels. If you look at the bottom of the car at 11:02 though, you can see that the tread forms a sort of arrow on each side, with the arrow pointing towards the rear on one side and towards the front on the other. essentially, you want them *both* pointing at the rear for realism.
Of course, this is a really small and trivial detail and is purely functional, and like you said, it's a model kit and functionality isn't really a thing. The kit looks great and I can't wait to see more of your work!
Amazing!!
Looks awesome sir
Thanks
It amazes me how you manage not to get a spot of glue or paint on your hands, and everything seems to be a click fit.
Especially amazing considering these Revell kits don't exactly glide together like Tamiya kits do. I've built this particular model before, he made it look easier than the time I had with it.
Another awesome build mate. I think the red scoop looks amazing I feel like the white needed to be broken up a bit. I kind of miss the old music from a few series back not that it matters as it is the build that is the main focus of the vid
DAM that is BEAUTIFUL 😍
I like to scoop it looks good with the body color
Epic
Awesome build, what do you think about doing a sprinter trueno with 3d printed parts? I know I'd love to see that!
Beautiful build! I'm building the same model. Where is part 1-3?
On the channel
@@TheScalemodelingChannel I found them. I like how you list the product you use while filming
Beautifully done. Was this a standard or Level 4 Revell kit?
ruclips.net/video/WSXA_pp_JBA/видео.html
I do like the way you mounted the wheels. Did you have to 3D print them or you make them yourselfs?
3d printed
Hello ive been a follower and a fan of ur channel for quite some time I love and enjoy every single one of them I do some scale building myself but not as good as what u do man ur always up there and ur fine work is to be admired bro, so reason why my writing to u is cuz I have a question, but How much would u charge to repaint a model car cuz u see I have a scale 1/21 2003 Ford SVT lightning by burago and I'm wanting to repaint it a midnight blue since well burago only made u believe 3 colors black and red and I believe yellow also, well I wanted something different and unique
Hi Erick, i appreciate your reply.
I am not looking to take on more work at the moment. Sorry
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Daaam that's to bad man well thanku for ur reply anyways bro i appreciate it man💯💯👍👍
Tom, I am dying to know how you position your camera on these videos. From above? Over your shoulder? It always seems in perfect position and just cannot seem to duplicate that!
Right in front of my chest/under my chin
Can you do 1980 Chevy Malibu please?
Yes! This! Why did it take so long?
Life
@@TheScalemodelingChannel I understand then, what’s your next build is…?
Great job.
But I have a doubt.
Why you never built motorcycles?
Because i like cars
Do you ever make them to sell?
Nope
Not a fan of low profile tires on a Muscle Car but to each their own.
I thought the cherry colored engine scoop looks hot. I immediately said it to myself. BTW, I don't know where I came across this tip (could have been you), but I coat all my chrome parts with Tamiya Smoke paint. You could do that instead of what you do at 6:04. It gets rid of that cartoonish look that everybody talks about with Chrome and is such a time-saver to just run all your parts through one layer of smoke.
Wasn’t me🫣
The part at 6:04 is to create a real mesh look and only fill in the lower areas. I’m not coating the flat pieces of chrome😄
Yes, as stated he's just using the Tamiya wash to bring out the mesh detail. I use it on anything with a screen: cars, tanks, aircraft, ships, etc. Some of the people I know who deal with the chrome itself either throw a clear coat over it to take down some of the toyish shine or they strip it off and replace it with a chrome or silver paint. I have a rattle can of Rust-Oleum (maybe Krylon?) chrome that I use after stripping. Easier than having to match the areas where it was attached to the sprue or if there was a lot of flash that got chromed.
Do you have the files to these 3D prints.
Blackbox stl, on cults3d.com
Hey. Happy accidents.
This is just way over my head. I wonder if there's a site like modelling for dummies or idiots?
Really good, except the product placement.
Can i send you my models
That depends on what you want me to do with them
