Long time Viewer, first time Commenter. Love the Shows,Guys. I think any true fanatic absorbs all of this. Anyone Complaining..You're trolling. Don't watch. Born in 76 fan since 88/89. Collector since 89. Late 80s early 90s i felt i had missed out. I had vague memories of the Kiss Megos on the shelves from the late 70s while at K-Mart looking for Star Wars Figures w/ my Dad. Love the golden years of the band. Kiss thru Elder. My first concert at Worcester Centrum October 92 Revenge tour. Was lucky enough to catch Two Rothman Conventions 92 93. Nothing short of amazing. I felt like i was in Phantom of the pk at those.Shelling out hard earned money on rare items. I remember having older people looking at me like Wtf? this little kid? Meeting Criss,Aucoin and Eddie.. Linking up with Frank C. from CT. and his mail order. An honorable guy who always came through after receiving my usps M.O. upfront. Then the reunion. First night at the Boston Garden was insane. Top 3 show I've ever seen. Hit a bit of a lull after that. then the wife wanted to know what it was all about. I was weary at first but decided to get Pit tickets at Mansfield 2010. Still Blown away despite no A&P. Keep up the great Work!
My internet is down, but I had to watch this today...on the small screen on my phone no less. Loved it! Love these stories from the old days. I love Phantom of the park even though it's bad...;) Saw it at a classic movies cinema viewing here in Oslo years ago. AWESOME seeing it on a big screen! If you get all the stuntdoubles...AMAZING! :-)
Great show, it was all over the place but we can feel their excitement when they speak about the band. I enjoy Phantom, especially the KISSology 2 version, widescreen, with the KISS music and great audio commentary. Of course getting the stunt doubles would be out of this world!!
Fantastic episode...was watching it first thing after the morning shower on my last day of vacation. I was happy to let the wife sleep in while I watched this and enjoyed coffee. I agree with Tommy...you must bring these guys back for more. Perhaps send them a few topics to think about and just let it roll again. And getting the extras from the movie would be amazing! Wow...tough episode to best! And the guy with the Peter Criss microphone...keep him coming back as long as he can amaze us.
To respond to this week's homework: You wanted to know about a fave scene from the Phantom Of The Park. For me, it was the performance of I Stole Your Love. I just love that song in general. What made it different this time around for me and it also looked really good for a live version of that song was that Gene did the fire breathing there which is something that is normally done during Firehouse. Nice touch on that song though.
Great show. Some parts were a little frustrating. When Leon didn't answer how he heard Clapton praise Ace's playing and the short discussion on the Warriors. I wanted to hear more! haha. I'm so so happy Mark will be coming on every episode. His collection is amazing! I can't wait to see on video what he has to offer! Congrats Mike Cicchini!
Another fun show Mike and Tommy! Would love to hear the Phantom stunt doubles tell their stories. The stills of these doubles show how little they resemble the real band members, which is really funny. One of my fave moments from the movie is hearing the voice dubbed in for Peter. It's way more Brooklyn than Peter's real accent.
Fantastic episode! I really enjoy the guest episodes. This one was a lot of fun to listen to. The rambling content was great. There was so much said. Eric Clapton likes Ace's playing??!! That little nugget of information is over the top cool.
Just had a bit of a nerd-gasm with this episode. Well done guys. Even as a jaded "heard it all, have all the bootlegs" Fan, this was exciting. A very unique glimpse into that early Magic, which everything we love was built on, and wouldn't exist without.
That was simply an amazing interview but having OCD I had to pause the video several times to collect my thoughts. My head was spinning from every topic bouncing all over the place. I was waiting for the duration of the interview for Tommy to follow up on the Eric Clapton's comments on Ace Frehley. I know Tommy was dying to get the answer as was I. The minutiae was just unreal and you guys definitely have to have them on again, but I think I would like to hear more from Mark alone. It would be awesome to hear from the "Phantom" stunt doubles and any stories or anecdotes from that filming would be appreciated. That movie was a monumental moment for Kiss fans my age (42). Favorite scene? I think the battle scene where Kiss confronts the robots jumping off the roller coaster to attack them. Great job Mike and Tommy.
Thanks Tommy for trying to get that question answered when Sean's brother brought up Eric Clapton's praise for Ace Frehley's playing. I zoned in on that comment too and would've loved to have heard the backstory on that. I also admittedly geeked out when I heard he was one of the Furies in the Warriors movie. Nice episode with the collector that will be featured too. I just hope he elaborates a little on how he acquired these things. I'll look forward to next week.
Hey guys, kick ass show as usual. I really enjoyed Mark Cicchini's new segment, but would also love to hear the story of how he acquired each item. Just a thought. Anyway, keep up the great work :)
Well, you can't get "Sam" from "KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park," because he passed away quite a few years ago. He was well-respected for his work on "The Young & the Restless," though... Now, early in the movie, there's a KISS look-alike contest going on, with kids in KISS makeup...The credits say Bill Hudson was in that scene. I've always wanted to know, is that the same Bill Hudson of the Hudson Brothers act of the 70's, which included Mark Hudson, who's worked with Aerosmith and Ozzy (and I've even seen him photographed with Bruce Kulick). The Bill Hudson that was married to Goldie Hawn, and fathered Kate Hudson? That's what I want to know.
My memories of KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park...(1) How excited I was waiting for it to premiere, (2) how excited I was when I was watching it, and (3) wondering what the hell I just saw when it was over. HA! At the same time, I really loved the concert shots and I did think Anthony Zerbe was hammy but great as Devereaux. Great memories for sure but I now recognize the movie for the steaming turd that it truly was. I keep hoping that RiffTrax will eventually do their take on the film. The results would be beyond hilarious. Great show, guys!
Excellent episode guys!I love the new feature with Mark,Peter Criss Circus subsciption copy, unbelievable. I'd definitely like to see the 4 stunt guys (if you can). Favorite part of Phantom - KISS coming off the stage and Melissa asks them where Sam is.Paul responds "Sam is still in the park". Thanks Paul, can you at least point me in the right direction? Of course hes still in the park ,he just walked off camera!!
I appreciate your posting this, but it was hard to follow because most of the guests spent most of the time interrupting each other. I appreciate it nonetheless.
It looked to me that Leon didn't want to go into more detail about the Clapton comment. Weird. And absolutely, insanely frustrating. If true, I certainly hope Ace himself was/is aware of what good ol' Slowhand thought about his playing!
Mark nailed it. If Ace and Peter were back "so many more" fans would come. Anybody who can't fathom that is living in la la land. Ace and Peter have super die hard fans who don't go to the current KISS shows. A majority of those fans would come back in droves to see them in KISS again. In contrast, Tommy and Eric have much fewer die hard fans than Ace and Peter do. If Tommy and Eric only fans chose to stop attending because Tommy and Eric were out, the number of lost fans would be much smaller than the MIA Ace and Peter fans. Not very many if any Paul and Gene fans would stop coming to KISS concerts if Ace and Peter were back. In fact, many Gene and Paul fans who have grown tired of seeing the same old same old and/or who are done with KISS due to Paul's voice may come back just out of curiosity (there are MANY fans, especially female fans, who idolized Paul for a very long time but who have stopped going to KISS shows the last few years due to ticket prices versus the quality of the vocals they're getting from their once reliable heart singing throb). Older fans who don't play faves but have stopped going to shows because the shows haven't been fresh in years may come back as well. As a new decade rolls along, and more fans hit certain ages, the bug of nostalgia is permeating the air again. It's a no brainer. Bring back Ace and Peter, and you're going to fill more seats. Not everybody who is a big KISS fan was able to attend the reunion shows in the mid 90s to early 2000s. Many of us thought that train would go on much longer than it did and we waited too long to buy tickets thinking there would be plenty more chances to see the original 4. I'm one of those people. I was working 3 jobs in the 90s when the reunion shows were happening. I worked the Hot In The Shade tour and have seen the current line up, both of which were cool to see and all, but neither of which is what I consider the definitive version of the band to see live. I didn't know about all the in fighting and behind the scenes band dramas. I'd seen bands like the Stones, Rush, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, The Scorpions, Air Supply, and The Monkees go on and on and exceed all my expectations without seeing the kind of destructive fan division that exists in the KISS army and which is perpetuated by the band members themselves. The KISS unplugged days were almost 20 years ago. Ace and Peter have been gone from KISS for over a decade now. Life and trends go in cycles and it's obvious that more and more people are aching to see the originals back in action one last time before it's too late. The online fighting is proof of this. Not a day goes by that there aren't posts from people about the current band versus previous incarnations. Those arguments are as heated as they are because it's perfectly possible for Ace and Peter to play with KISS again in some form. It's not like people arguing about broken up bands or bands whose members have died. There's no refuting the numeric facts that Ace and Peter have fans that would come back in large numbers if they were back in KISS and that time brings cycles of nostalgia and that this is KISS's, give or take a year, 40th anniversary. Dammit. Another long winded post. If only I was Charles Dickens and youtube paid writers like his paid him. Son of a love gun. PS: This was a darn fine show with two very fun, interesting, and big personality guests. Loved it!
I thought this was a Great Show being a fan for 30+ years.... I agree you need them back on sooner then later.... I'd like to hear the TRUE inside story of the Reunion Tour why Bill didn't take back over as the manager....
I loved marks segment.I hope he does one on magazines and posters. He's got some cool stuff. I love the vintage stuff, not the Spencers crap. Why hasnt Gene put out the The official Ace Frehley potato peeler yet ?!! You know you want it!
Pete were the only one at the rock hall of fame that credited Sean Delaney and Aucoin, Neil Bogart for their succes! Ace said nice things too so that says something how genuine they are no profet speeches like the other two😂
Sean's nephew said, Peter and Sean: it didn't end well. In an older interview with Ace, you can still hear his anger on Bill. Because Bill got more money from KISS then him! Ace first voted against Peter. Peter called him a "traitor". Then, Ace voted against Bill. This is how "genuine" they are. How money-greedy and traitorous Ace is.
Tommy / Mike - Did they qualify that Ace Frehley / Eric Clapton comment? ... Huge statement, I'm a big Ace fan ... But I wouldn't have in the top guitarists.
No offense, could have done without this minutia. Really reaching this time fellas. Can't understand the fascination with Aucoin and Delaney. Sorry guys. Aucoin himself, completely understand -- everybody else, including Sean -- nope. Sean was instrumental in KISS 30 some years ago. Now, we are talking to their family because they had a little part? I'm sure that there may be a brother of a waitress that may have served Kiss out there that want's to talk.
And the comment right after yours is "Hey guys, kick ass show as usual." This illustrates why we do a show we love, not a show you love. We would never be able to please all the listeners. If we are happy with the show that is all that matters.
Typical response Michael. You do a show and you broadcast over the Internet and spend a lot of time to make sure its there, and then tell people that you don't care if they watch it or not. This is typical of what you do. I like what you do but your fascination of all things Aucoin gets the best of you sometimes. Oh by the way, it's early in the week, I'm sure I'll get some likes to my comment as I did the last time you had a Bill and Sean show. It's all good if you're happy with the show. But you sure spend a lot of time in effort putting it on all these different internet channels just for your self gratification
Frank Patek what are you expecting me to say... you are right? This show is for us, that is the truth. If other fans like that is great, but we have never done this to try and make others happy... as I said that is impossible. You didn't like this one, maybe you will next week. It might be blunt, but that doesn't bother us if you don't like it. We create a show that Frank loves and the next person will hate it. Who wins? Why are you concerned with the time and effort put into this show? Like I said we do it for fun, plain and simple.
Youre looking for someone, but its not KISS!! / Deveraux!! / They all lose their heads over you Paul!! / Without the talismans were just ordinary human beans!! Not quite ordinary!! / And you..KISS...shall be my instruments!! / Pretty mystical !! / Insufficient data,Starchild!! / they're serious... and they've got guns!! / Just a few Phantom gems.
You pseudo-laughed at the lady's story about the Tony the Tiger box (Bruce Kullick). You know damn well that wasn't funny, don't patronize people, it deflates your credibility.
that was just one ring of a 4 ring circus of the physcho circus!!!

Also the Movie FOXES had Casablanca music on it .
That is true. Also, the band Angel (On Casablanca.) was in it.

great reference to Click and Clack at the end. i was thinking this whole episode they are like the Car talk guys but talkin' KISS. Great work boys!

Thanks! Imagine how we felt trying to keep the show on track, lol.
Like the "Mark's Collector's Asylum" part... a LOT.
funkymonkstemple great name
As always, great show, fellows.

Anthony Zerbe is still very much alive. He acted in American Hustlery (2013).

Tommy, Anthony Zerbe is indeed still alive. He's 78. Great actor. Loved him in License To Kill and KISS Meets The Phantom.

the gold mic is unreal cool
MOUNTAINOUS I know. Had NO idea it even existed. Mark will be bringing it every week.
Amazing interview guys. Loved the reminiscing about the band. Great stuff. I have been a KISS fan since 1978.
Peter Kent thanks
around 29:00: I've never heard kiss was on show Fridays twice--I think he's mistaken
Good interview guys!🤗👍💯
