DUDE! I just tried their nuggets two days ago (when this video dropped apparently) and I liked em man. They're not like your traditional fast food nugget that's made up of pressed mechanically separated chicken; these are like chunks of chicken, but like _actual_ chicken. They tasted better than the regular chicken, like the breading had some different type of seasoning or something. The chicken part was nice and tender and juicy too and the meat to breading ratio was perfect (good sized pieces of chicken). I'm not a frequent Popeyes eater though, so I had no idea these were new, but yeah, I'd recommend them totally.

Popeyes is infamous for having bad/ good batches of food. Just like their sandwiches I get an amazing sandwich and sometimes a mediocre one.
I tasted what he tasted. It was a bland, disappointing, unremarkable, batch.
At least Chick Fil A is consistent.
If you compare them to burger chain nuggets they are way better. He should have at least mentioned that point.

Not a frequent fast food customer but I tried these and they were good and nothing like the chicken nuggets of the past. Nice and moist and crispy on the outside. As stated this is actual chicken breast meat and not some chicken mulch from various parts of the chicken.

You can tell he is ready for this review. A little more pep in his step. When I ate these last weekend, they were very bland. It was like they forgot the special Popeyes blend of spices. Very strange.

Perhaps sage or thyme would have helped these nuggets. Or traditional poultry seasoning might have helped. If dipping sauce is required, dipping sauces may be getting pricier in the future.
The chicken strips always break apart weird, like in sections. Tastes like imitation chicken.
Chicken that works in a sandwich is usually overwhelming as nuggets flavor wise.

Chicken nuggets flavor profile usually comes from the sauce that you dip them in. I can't say I've ever had chicken nuggets that taste spectacular without.

BK 10 PC nuggets are only $1.49 . More flavor than Popeyes. Maybe Popeyes should make them spicy to add more seasoning and flavor. This is definitely nothing new because Popeyes has brought back their nuggets a few times to date with the same result.
They don't change the oil enough n or the Flour you will get hard or dark chicken...sometimes the chicken 🐔🍗 looks beat up . Is because u can't stick the 🍗 in the skin....

The traditional nugget/tender division, once so assiduously policed, is now blurred to the point of obscurity. Perhaps provoked by the relative newcomer of the popper, the nugget now seems to be growing into a mini tender, or more. I cannot believe this does not irritate the meticulous ReviewBrah.

I agree, even being from Louisiana. Popeyes’ biscuits taste good, but the texture has become way too dry. I swear they must have discretely changed the formula or something, because they haven’t always been so dry. They’re hard to swallow sometimes.

The nuggets are made with the same batter and flour as the sandwich fillets. We now sell apple juice and apple sauce, so I think the nuggets were primarily meant for kids. My coworkers have also called them disappointingly bland.

Dunno what Popeyes was thinking by not using their signature spices, but they better learn real quick they dropped the ball on these nuggets and course correct. They are bland and mostly flavorless without a dipping sauce. The sauce sort of enhancing the breading
I've had them once and yeah, they're just OK. I think they dumbed them down for kids but...adults want to enjoy flavorful nuggets too! lol A peppery, slightly spicy version should be released as a happy compromise. A good nugget shouldn't NEED a dipping sauce to taste good but a quality nugget like these would benefit from a tasty dipping sauce for sure. I wouldn't order them again, I prefer their bone-in chicken and tenders. Great review!!! 😊❤

I wholeheartedly disagree with you on the sauce issue. A great and seasoned chicken nugget can further benefit from a good sauce (I choose buffalo).

Well the chicken shouldn't be carried by the sauce. By that same argument, you could get the $1 nuggets at burger king, dip em, and have a similar experience to these. Popeyes is charging a premium and are great at seasoning their other items, so why not do it for these?

Almost all fast food chain chicken nuggets can’t contend/surpass with McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I said “almost”, because there is a fast food chain in New York that I went to as a kid that has very good nuggets.

I love Popeye's nuggets! They have a softer crunch and I've noticed what I believe is a mustard flavor, maybe as a binder. Even more noticeable when they're cold. Blackened ranch is my go-to sauce.

It doesn't sound like they're bad just overrated. They didn't meet reviewbrah's high expectations which is why he rips into them, but they're overall mid.
It is better than I expected, though I do have ridiculously low standards for myself. Slightly under-seasoned was the main issue for me.

I think Popeyes needs to continue to give Chick-fil-A a run for their money. Competition can only be good for all of us.
I thought I remember that I used to see Popeyes "blackened chicken." I think if they put a bit more money behind it, it could counter Chick-fil-a's grilled entrees.

I would equate these to something like a chicken fried steak. The gravy is needed to properly complete the dish.
I recently reviewed the Rip’n Chick’n meal deal from Popeyes and couldn’t have been more let down.
Are they not just the chicken strips........ but short?
Also i could drink gallons of popeyes bbq sauce. Id be much more excited if they announced that they would sell their sauce in a bottle.

I think the chicken sandwich is so successful due to matching it with the bread/pickles/mayonnaise. The filet wasn’t intended to stand alone and it shows here in the “nuggets.”
and it's size. I feel like I'm eating a whole chicken when i take my first bite outta that sandwhich. Not like that BWW ….thing.
