Exactly. Even for argument sake, if you ever receive something of monetary value that requires you pay taxes, whether it's money or a car that you've won in a contest, you should always file it properly with the IRS. No exceptions.

I recently had someone try to scam me on Whisper. I decided to toy with them. I showed them proof that they were trying to scam me. It was similar to this scam, but they said I was randomly selected, and won $10,000 in cash. They wanted me to give them $400 to have the money "delivered to my front door." I find it quite laughable that the scammers are so desperate to steal from people that they resort to having to use an anonymous chat site to bait people.

gledak yotou Some people lack the ability to look at a situation and immediately figure out that it's a scam. I personally look at details before taking action and I spot all the red flags allowing me to identify a scam within minutes.
Others need to know of the scam before they are faced with it.
The former are skeptical people, the latter are usually vulnerable people. Young teenagers or elderly for example. Raising awareness helps the vulnerable as they're more likely to be aware of the scam when they become a target for it.

It's amazing what you will believe from a source you trust.Take it from me, these scammers used the identity of my lawyer/family friend. "She" was really convincing (besides the typos,) saying just enough to make me think it was who I thought it was.... until they claimed the government would send 100,000 in cash to my door by UPS.
      THINGS TO REMEMBER!!!
      1. Grammar Nazis are your FRIENDS! They teach you how to NOT sound like a Nigerian scammer, so maybe we all need to cut them some slack, and maybe we do need to use spell check.
      2. If a friend tells you something too good to be true, VERIFY it is them and ask them something only your friend would know.
      3. The US government NEVER sends cash- they send a check. This just makes fiscal sense, 100K weighs alot in postage.
      4. When the government gives you "free" money (say, a military bonus, veteran disability, or a federal grant) it is with good cause and after due process (miles of red tape, and government forms) it is only after you have filled out all the red tape. They are going to ask for tons of paperwork, and it is going to be a long, difficult, frustrating process, while they verify your medical records, military records, marriage license, et cetera. If someone doesn't seem concerned that you might be scamming them, it is because THEY are scamming YOU!
      5. The government WILL tax about 30% right off the top, so if someone offers you a round sum like 100K it is NOT the government!

I was scammed by an advert on Facebook, I paid by visa card I reported it to visa . Because it was a advert SCAM they go after the person who advertised the items. I have to wait 20 days for the money to go back into my account but at least I haven't lost anything but I've learned my lesson.
The adverts are still running BEWARE and don't be afraid to report it to your card or bank they have alot more power and a legal team to go after the scammers

Somebody used my friend and my cousin to try to scam me.
By the language, I knew this was not my cousin or friend. I strung this person along for awhile before letting the person know I was onto them.
Well I blocked the number & now it comes up as the scammer's real name. Its a person in my small town. Cause I didnt erase the messages & I checked this person's fb profile. We do share one mutual friend.
This is weird cause I was just wondering if I should at least show the police & make them aware of what this guy is doing.
    What do y'all think?

Not everyone is up to date on how to figure out if these people are scammer's, most of us are so naive to alot of things via the computer, and the hard school of knock's!! Sad to say, we all learn sometime. My suggestion is dont call other's Dumb, Stupid, and other names. Their already feel low, they don't need to be kicked down again. Suggestion's,Support is a best......🙂
