Is it just me.? .but I liked the look of the 2 back zip ties left uncut. I really enjoyed this video. Your build looks really cool. This is exactly why I love this hobby. If you want, you can really explore your creativity. Great video.
Thanks, Dude , really didnt want a 4th Associated 2wd, I was fine with my Associated 2WDs, a Pro2 and Trophy Rat, and an SR10, Till I saw this Sick Build, ordered all the Items for another, Good Thing I live in Pismo Beach 😎 other than my LosiXXXscb this Associated platform is one of the best out there-
Pismo rocks, my first trip to the Sand Dunes was pismo back in the late 90s, these associated 2wds rock, blast to drive, tag me on Instagram so I can check out your build, #dunekeeper
You are absolutely right. This is what the hobby should be. I love the fine buggy cage style and recently picked up a Losi 2we sct. I am going to fine it out for cottage beach running this summer. Cheers
This is why I love the RC community and your builds. I just finished assembling my Gatekeeper including the cage which I'm not planning on using. I look over at my DB10 and MT10 and now the ideas are flowing for this cage. Thank you for that and keep up the bad ass work!
I already got reusable zip ties, but thanks for the input, you'd be surprised at your carbon footprint based on how many vehicles you have owned, great point.
I got 2 team associated trophy rats, and I love them, they drive super smooth. I have the 2.8 proline paddle tires on the rear and man it rips in the snow. Awesome videos on this 2wd platform. I might slap a cage on one of mine now.
Thanks man, I really like this one, you know I have been eyeballing bomber cages to see if it would work and look the part, thanks for watching broskie 🤙
@Xee.Xee. yah buddy appreciate you. I did a similar build using an axial bomber cage and it's equally rad. Bombers are getting harder to come by but you might be able to find the cage parts if you really dig
Well I’ve gone back to This vid like 10 times, I’m currently droping a gatekeeper cage on a losi drag car. I like the black out look, but I’m not gonna go that route.
It's the stock associated cover that I modify with a dremel bits container to fit the bigger 5mm motor shaft pinion. I believe the second dune buggy pt2 on my channel shows more on that setup.
I've been trying ro find some slash stuff for a Sand rail build and it's proven kinda difficult personally. only long travel kit is like 200 bucks for a billet set. I've seen rustler arms supposedly work with some trimming
I might, I dont really see the point with such good options available, with so many builds its, easierxto just buy a,set of Proline dumonts and go shredd. We might
@@DoubleClutchProductions ah ok, cause I cant find any for my 1/24 baja truck, also what I think I'd really cool, is with this diy buggy of yours it it actually make it a diy buggy, if you know what I mean.
@TheSphongleface I'll have to measure it, my cages are slightly modified, I cut the lower sections out to sit lower on the chassis. I would estimate its close to 89cm?
@@DoubleClutchProductions oh cool man lol ya i guess i could have read that. I really hope you dont mind me totally stealing this idea because this is about the coolest custom RC build ive seen this year!
H should be some along the lights in the back so when you’re driving the middle of the night that’s why I see is a little light standing off the back it’s those lights you put on the side-by-side and they’re very long you should make some
I've noticed some people run paddles on just rear of their 4x4 RC's. I wanted to run sand paddles on a Losi DB Pro. Would you recommend paddles front and rear, or just paddles in the rear for sand? ruclips.net/video/BdE6fcwEa6U/видео.html ruclips.net/video/unkjEXgVb6Q/видео.html
Great observation and question, personally on a 4x4 I would only run paddles in the rear. Proline just came out with a new, front sand tire that mixes both a ribbed and paddle.
@@DoubleClutchProductions Do you lose steering input by running regular paddles on the front? On a 4x4, does running different types of tires on front and rear cause problems with the diffs, or does the loose traction on sand compensate for difference in traction front and rear.
In my opinion it will understeer too much with paddles up front, no effect to the diffs. Plus one set of paddles is all you need and its, cheaper than 2,sets
@@DoubleClutchProductions Thanks for the tips. I might turn my old Slash 2WD into a buggy like you did, it’s been collecting dust. I love your projects brother, hope to see more in the future. Subscribed
And now I need to get a Gatekeeper body so I can put it on my Slash. This is an awesome build!

Cool build - don’t know about turning zip ties into disposable single-use plastic every time you need to change the battery.

@@DoubleClutchProductions that’s awesome. You’re right - so much plastic in RC builds… hop-ups kill polar bears. 😐

Super dope man. Great job matching that cage. I thought a bomber cage would make a pretty good sand rail as well.

Question you think that would work out the same on the Traxxas slash 2wd im assuming it’s
Essentially a lcg chassis ?
Worth trying very similar

Why drop it every time instead of just placing it down??
To show the weight of the cage and that the suspension can take it, Thanks for the support?
You think the gatekeeper cage would fit on a slash 2wd?
I think it would be close, very similar chassis shape, I think it might
@@DoubleClutchProductions what about a traxxas rustler? 2wd
Does that chassis look close to a SC10?
@@DoubleClutchProductions yeah kinda
You know looking at a rustler it would be close I bet.... no guarantee but close
Would they fit a 1/12 car like WLToys 124017?
Not sure about 1/12? The gatekeeper cage is on the small side for 1/10

what's your front bumper
Comes with the sc10 it's for the db10 🤙
Has anyone done this with a 4*4? Not sure how to figure out if cage and chassis are compatible without having both in hand
Yah the concept would be the same, might fit a bit different but knowing the prosc4 it's highly likely it would work...

what exact rtr vehicle did you use for this?
