Tip for Hunter on the battery mount. The mount should go across the other way on the battery so it can NEVER touch both post in an emergency the battery moves at all. ✌️

Paul and Michelle, I enjoy watching your channel so much. Those boys crack me up while they are working. It's like watching my boys while they are in the shop working on their stuff. Hunter has grown so much since he started working with Paul. Paul seems like he has the patience of a saint. Grandma Lollie is my hero. She says what she thinks and she gives those boys what for. Michelle is a beauty. I love that Paul has his boys working with him. It is just a great family show and I hope it continues forever.I wish we were going to Glampus with you guys but I am old and live in Texas and my hubby says "are nut nuts" think of the miles. That made me believe we have gotten too old because in our younger years it would not have been a problem. You guys enjoy life while you can and I will live vicarious thru watching ya'll. almost always enjoy your videos and the sandrail ones more so because it's the closest thing to a Kart you have. I used to race Karts in Ontario (Plus, Sanaire, Quebec and Clayton New York) decades ago. I was the first female racing in the National Capital Kart Club (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). I drove a Swiss Hutless. One of my best finishes was third in the nationals.
I also used to help my buddy who is an engine rebuilder, so I'm able to follow what you guys are doing, most of the time. I've learned some about transmissions, axles and rearends thanks to your videos! (And a little watching Chad and less so Matt). I've also learned a little fabrication from watching Robbie, but appreciate his channel more for the paint and style work. Matt''s is more about a little of everything, depending on which video you watch. You guys are fabricators with bonuses!
I appreciate your video style. You've got a great bunch of people there!
Take good care while you go all out on those sandrails.
(I'm a Swiss-Canadian, so you get Swiss hearts)

I got a yankem rope a couple of weeks ago and got my loaded semi stuck in New Mexico sand. The rope pulled me out, but sadly the rope broke 😢 [we tied the rope back together] to be fair the rope was pulling 60,000 lbs out of sand it also had to turn my rig around and back to good road.
We beat that rope up and the rope was only rated for an f250.
I have nothing bad to say about the product. I also will keep that rope and use it again. Great product Yankem

When I lived in Denver I bought a 68 Volkswagen with an auto-stick and a blown engine. I was going to make it into a Baja Bug but the body was so nice so I just fixed it up. A roommate and I pulled the engine in the apartment parking lot and carried it up to the third floor. I tore it down on the balcony and reassembled it in the kitchen. Then back down the stairs and into the bug. It went from 1500 to a 1600.

This video brings back a lot of memoriesWhen I was about 17, we went to a hillclimb in Kamloops where we saw a vw dunebuggy similar to the sandrail. We had a VW. The body came off. We drove it around like that for a while and then we scavenged most pieces of metal we could find to build a roll cage. We shortened the frame by 18" by cutting the tunnel and welding it together with an old welder. when we got it running we used to drive it in the local fields and back trails. Bits and pieces would come off because my welding skills were suspect. We managed to kill the engine several times. The police used to wait at the corner to our road, however they never caught us because we could go through the back way. It was a great way to learn how to cobble parts together and work on cars.

My best friend in High School had a '74 super beetle (this was in the late 1980's). His dad was a former diesel mechanic who'd gone to work for the telephone company. After high school he got a job working for a local manufacturing company running a bead blaster. The company offered 1 free class per semester at the local community college. So the first semester, he took the engines class and when the teacher said, "We'll need a vehicle to work on" he said, "Hey, I have a Volkswagen bug". Of course he built the crap out of the engine. The next semester he took a transmission class, same thing. Then, upholstery, then Auto-body. He basically got his whole car rebuilt for free.
The reason I'm telling you this is 40+ years later, this buggy sounds just like my buddy's Bug. We had some great times in that car. RIP Chuck.

I can't wait to see how you're going to get everything to Glamis. How many trucks and trailers and how creative you're going to stack them.

Don’t forget the throttle pedal on top of steering and wiring. Those things look like a ton of fun. I can’t wait to see the episode in Glamis!

Hunter... @4:30 , you want to place the bracket 90 degrees from your thought. Bar goes between those two caps side to side on vehicle, not front to back. No way it can short out. Your idea is bad as the battery shifting or bracket shifting, while riding or working on, can short the battery out! BOOM!

When Paul’s kids went to the bicycle rodeo they’re the only ones there with mirrors, horns reflectors, fenders bicycle, axles, welded to the frame😍😍😍🇺🇸

The more I look at the Ratback's front bumper, the more it is growing on me. I wasn't convinced at first.
Tell Merlin to bring his VW tools.... all of em. I have a feeling they will be needed.
Now that is a shop cat. Nothing disturbs a nap.
When I saw the fans on the little radiator in the opening shots, I thought that Paul had put a Subaru engine in his rail. But I was wrong.

As a VW enthusiast with a Baja bug and a sand rail I would love some more info on the fuel injection system on Paul’s Rig. I realize you are in a hurry so maybe when things settle down you can run through the specs and share the info on the manifold and Holley system. Curious with no manifold heat how well that sniper system works. Looking forward to the Glamis videos!

It is a shame that every American family doesn't get to experience this kind of family togetherness. I think the country would be a better place if everyone got to experience some of their down home Americana. God bless the entire Fabrats gang.
