I love watching your reactions so I'm really glad you started another show to react to. I'm watching Wynonna Earp and I have to admit I don't like it very much. I think it's got a lot of potential character wise (and the humor is great), but I think the plot and the narrative choices aren't as intriguing or as well developed, which makes for an overall very questionable result. So yeah...I'm watching it for the gay and for Wynonna (the mix of badassery and sarcasm reminds me of Buffy). The gay isn't epic, deep, emotional or anything special, but considering how we pretty much have NOTHING anywhere right now (which is so sad and pathetic)...I can bear with it lol Anyway, I wrote too much. I look forward to your reactions to the next episodes!

That was indeed the reason I started watching Wynonna Earp! Representation is very important to me, and honestly, that's how I got introduced to this show! Doesn't mean I didn't grow to love all aspects of it though :)

@@helmedon Nooo, don't worry! I get how it comes across like I only watched it for the gay content, and you're right that that sounded kind of disrespectful maybe. I have to admit that for some shows that is 100% the reason I start watching things though, and since this was the first episode I was waiting for that gay content hahaha. Especially because the sci-fi comedy genre isn't something I generally enjoy, I guess my comment was a bit blunt, but honest 😂 But I actually did really grow to love this show and all its characters! Even went to Earpercon one time, which was absolutely amazing!
@@biclexual I completely understand. I wish you didn't have to look for "gay content" in TV shows. As far as I'm concerned gay is as "normal" as straight. I realize I was probably a bit insensitive with that first comment and I'm glad you replied. I made it after I had taken my sleep medication and I tend to be frank and not aware of any semblance of tact. It's why my wife and I don't talk about anything important when we go to bed. Because I usually don't remember the last half of the conversation and wonder why she's upset the next day, lol.

I just felt it was important to explain that unfortunately we do still need to look for positive LGBT representation in tv shows because it's not always a given sadly. I also don't really have any gay role models in real life, so I'm always kind of looking through media content to find "people like me" 😊 I guess if you're cis and heterosexual you often don't even realize people might find a need for that because straight people are represented everywhere! Hahah 😋
Too bad shows like this probably have to work with a lower budget and it's making the special effects look fake af. Same with Lost Girl. Or at least I'm guessing that's the reason. If not they should really consider a new visual/special effects supervisor. Oh well, as long as the 'gay' in it is good (and alive) I can live with those few cringy moments.. :p
