Even though I'm not a social butterfly, living in Istanbul, I can easily say that Turkish people are among the friendliest people on the planet. And of course a huge shout out to the cats and dogs of Turkiye - taking care of them, spending time with them, helping them when they are in need makes me feel like a useful human being, and their love is endless and truly amazing.

Hello Chris and Marianne, I was born and raised in Turkey, am married to a Brit and have been living in the US for the last 30 years. Another Turkish friend living in the US had turned me onto you during the pandemic some time and I've continued to follow you since then. I decided to write when you returned to TR this year and your love for the country and her people truly came through and brought me to tears. I love your perception of your experiences as you travel and my faith in humanity is restored a little more every time someone comes to your help in some way. Looking forward to your new experiences and, who knows, maybe we'll meet in person some day, somewhere. Good luck and godspeed.
Thanks Ozlem - we are delighted that you are enjoying the videos ! And yes we will return as we support the Turtle project - Dekafok, if you go to Turkiye please do go and visit Seher - we need to keep spreading the love 🇹🇷🇬🇧🌷🙏
When I first started sharing your life during the pandemic, I did a deep dive into Türkiye history and learned about the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. This video was a marvelous tour of both sides. Does Chris ever eat anything he doesn’t like? Marianne is discerning and lets us know when the food doesn’t suit her. I remember watching her make that dessert! Nice outing. ❤
I think he is too polite if you ask me ,he doesn't want to let any one down by not liking their food being served as a turk idont like some of the things he eats and makes me cringe but hey good on him for being a hero 😅😅😅 and take it like a man appetit Chris there is more surprises in turkiye than you can imagine it's all good
What an amazing day! Tolga certainly is a very qualified local guide! Some very decadent looking eats, sweets, and treats. 🤤🤤🤤 I don't seek out offal often, but liver done right does hit the spot some times. Thank you for yet another beautiful Turkiye video. I first started watching your videos when you were in Turkey and it's so nice to see you come back and still find new things.
Kadıköy is one of the great native place in Istanbul. Karaköy and Cihangir one of the most cosmopolite towns in whole Europe. Great to see you get some local vibes in there. you are lucky to have such a great tour guide guys 😅
Thanks guys for showing me the side streets and all the nice food shops and restaurants, and wow the dinner looked unbelievable! Turkey is on my radar! Have a safe journey to Japan if your not already there by now!
Our GO TO is liver and onions in Dalyan. It blew our minds! Heading back in Sept and truly can’t wait. But that Liver in Istanbul looked incredible. Great vid guys. Safe travels.
What a wonderful day you had with your friend all that beautiful good looked amazing in sure it was all delicious I would love to try true Turkish food. So looking forward to you being back in Trudy and seeing what Japan is like. Good travels to you on your flight to Japan see you next week ❤❤❤
Pickled garlic is my favourite! My mom used to make red bell pepper pickle stuffed with cabbage, green tomato, carrot and celery. She put only one garlic inside bell peppers so it was delicious to find them. All garlics belong to me 🤣 Garlic loses its terrible taste and smell during fermentation so it is a good way to make your kids eat them. Very powerful antibiotic in winter. 🤣
Hi, Beef tongue can be found in the U.K. - it was something I ate when I was younger and it is out of fashion here but still available. You guys make me hungry - I must stop watching you until I am full from my meals otherwise I go to the kitchen and start picking!
A culinary adventure and taste experience. I felt like I was vicariously enjoying the food with you. Thanks for a great video. Pastor Dean, Ocala FL USA.
Am travelling Turkey for three weeks now. The only touristic thing I enjoyed in Istanbul was the evening Bosphorus dinner cruise. Enjoyed Turkish wine and vodka with nice meal served by very attentive staff. The Russian, Ukrainian, Indian, American and Japanese tourists all danced disco on board. Very nice memory.
Wonderful video 💕 Some of the food I wouldn't have eaten though 😂 Saying that, I have been given soups there I absolutely loved, only to be told after they were things I hate 😱 The Turkish just seem to know how to flavour food. Sad this is the last video in Turkey, they always have a special vibe to them.
I lived in İstanbul for 6 years but I never knew these places. I took note though, I will visit them the next time I am in İstanbul. They all looked so delicious 🤤
