James no one comes close to your reviews. Your camera work, you’re incredibly smooth delivery- you’re like a motivational speaker doing great travel reviews. 10/10! You were 11/10 before the ‘music belongs in a studio not on a stage’ comment!! A big music snob and supporter of my local(Boston area) music scene there have been many bands/artists that I wish their van had broken down on the way to the gig but nothing touches what a great live performance can do for an audience big or small!! Bands hired by casino nightclubs usually aren’t terribly unique so I’ll let you off the hook a bit- you’re still #1, top of the charts!
I love a live band, but so many times they just end playing Bruno Mars covers and the performance is squandered. The sad part is you can often tell they have the chops but are forced to play the same old songs people expect. I would love to be at a bar and hear a band launch into some bizarre original, haha.
Thank YOU , JAMES Love Your Reviews. Favorite so FAR Trump International , LAS Vegas (89109).
Cuba Libre has some of the best service, food and pricepoints at the Trop. It's the gem of the property IMHO.
You had me chuckling at "Assisted living chic" hahaha!
Biggest positive for the Trop is that most of their dining and nightlife options are open during the weekdays. The other Caesars properties in AC are effective ghost towns outside of the weekends.
Other than The Duck Poutine at Gordon Ramseys Pub. No reason to go to Caesars. Harrahs is no where near the boardwalk.
Very true
I fell over when you said 'assisted living chic' :) :) :)
I used to live in New Jersey and Tropicana was my favorite casino when I went to Atlantic City…..❤that marketplace is especially wonderful….I eat breakfast everyday there when I’m at the Tropicana! I do agree the rooms can be atrocious but I just love the dining and the casino action….😊
Sir James I really liked the live interaction with this video this morning . Very cool idea . It is always good to shake things up and keep us subscribers guessing at what you’ll do next . I don’t recall ever going to the Trop in AC . It’s definitely more lively than I imagined. Not a fan of the one in Vegas . The room was definitely a tragedy lol . Carmines looked great though . Looking forward to the next one 😎😎😎
I went to AC a few weeks ago when I was visiting one of my sons who lives and works in Brooklyn. We stayed at the Ocean Resort, which was fantastic. It had exceptional and spacious ocean-view rooms. We had dinner at Capriccio that was excellent although service was uneven. Gambling was pretty good at the MGM AC property. Wish I had an AC in Texas!
I love traveling with you though your videos!
Your the best at doing these resort videos James, Keep up the good work!
"assisted living chic" 🤣🤣🤣🤣.....Bro you crack me up lol. Ur channel rocks!
So glad you found the marketplace that place is 24 hours and so awesome
Assisted living chic!😂😂😂😂😂 I’m cracking up! You are the best
Even though I'm no more motivated or driven to go out of my way to Atlantic City after seeing your first two resort reviews there because I just don't feel it's worth the hassle as a whole and just doesn't strike me as nearly as complete an experience as any given cosmopolitan city..................I do still genuinely enjoy vicariously living your experiences there. 🙂
I'm pretty certain your eventual Borgata experience will be my favorite of the four Atlantic City-related ones. I'm most looking forward to that one. 😇
Nobody cares you entitled fruit cake
Love your reviews. Stay at Tropicana all the time. Live 70 miles away. Ceasars gives out lots free rooms there. Was Vegas last month. After few days on strip, took your advise on Southpoint. Keep up the good work
You never did a place I stayed at and now I know your word is to be trusted. You hit everything perfect on this one. I always loved the trop but moved away as I got older because of the rooms. But the trop is so approachable like you said and just very easy to have a great time at
Video is great quality..always look forward to your videos! 👍 👌
Trop is always jumping.
Love your videos man. So happy your are back.
Lots of smiles and more animated delivery with side of head shots. All good!
The reviews I've been waiting for
Awesome on the way there now
Congrats 👏 Have fun!
Last video we watched was Riu republica, talk about a contrast! Something we need, great video! Looks tranquil!
LOL!😂😂🤣🤣I lived in a neighboring state for a decade. Use to enjoy a weekend in Atlantic City every 3-4 months. I watched your entire video because I have not been in almost 7 years. Man, you hit more restaurants in this video than I did in that whole decade. I don't know how you do. 😁😁Continued successes! 💃🏽💃🏽
Love the vids . Can’t imagine ever visiting some of these especially in the states , looks like hell, way too many people and crowds .
Prefer the quiet resorts so really looking g forward to your next Dominican visit
Ossu looked great ... loved the vibe and the menu items were on point. Carmines is simply a must try!!
I love your description assisted living sheik, ❤
Oh NO😮...$300 a night😱😱 Looks like Nursing Home Decor for sure😒 That pool looks great and lots of fun❤ Thank you for sharing 😀 your great videos❤❤
Ossu Cool review James. I loved seeing the tractors in the middle of the city! After your AC #2 hotel, why can’t they build a freaking huge pool out there? Or even one with some character, not just a simple rectangle? There’s no room in them it seems. But this place much higher vibe than last week. And that gym was really nice! All the best to you🎉
Heading down to the Trop in about an hour. Arguably, their best restaurant is Chelsea 5 Gastropub.
Great job! I've never had a bad stay here and the casino gives you enough money to play with. I've never walked away with huge losses. But I agree with your assessment that the food prices are way too high. Since I have my car, I'll drive around town or out to the burbs to find more reasonable dining options.
We love your videos, mostly Vegas... But heading to AC soon so pulled this one up. Do you know that Virtual Voyagers used a bunch of your clips in their Tropicana video, even ones showing you? Just thought we'd check! Thanks for the great content as always!
Good job. I live in the first town inland. 25 years ago I booked a room. Checked out and went home. Love the assisted living comparison. The rest of your review was flawless. Agreed. Thanks.
Ooops. Except the live music. Love live music!
Awesome review James!
I have soooo many memories at this casino. I love the Trop because it has so much to do. I've been at a few Bachelorette parties there.
Did you know where those palm trees are inside they had an indoor amusement park in the 90s? They had a roller coaster and a ferris wheel (I remember bits and pieces besides that). Sorry for dorking out 🤣.
And Carmine's is AMAZING!!
very cool James!
assisted living chic` has gotta be the all time best description.... of all time
they do need to do some room work.everyone kills AC on you tube blogs but it is a great place to be....another spot on video for us,thank you!
"Live music belongs in a studio, not on stage".
Said no true music lover ever!
Wow , what a polar opposite of the Vegas Tropicana. James haven't seen you do a high limit slot in quite a while, decide to quit feeding the bandits. Great review as always thanks. 👍
I may complain about "new Caesars" (i.e. Eldorado) a lot, but I gotta say, they have brought many cool new things to Tropicana. Ossu looks awesome (or "ossume").
I think Royce took over the old Providence nightclub spot that had been shuddered for years. Looks like a much better use of the space!
I sadly agree about Hash House. It was mind-blowing when I first went to the one in Vegas, but I thought it was just okay the two times I have been to that AC location. They should've just kept the buffet that was there before.
Those rooms are pretty plain. Some are flat-out dated. Once I got to stay in this two-level suite they have. It looked like it was really upscale in the 80s or 90s (lots of "gold" fixtures), but not touched since then. I thought it was cool in a kitschy way, but maybe just because it was comped, haha.
This place is much better than Hard Rock. The food looked great. (I like the flavor of t-bone the best). Excellent camera work, as usual!
I agree with you. I think you were right on the money. I have to add that the Havana tower is much better and right on the Quarter. Next time try Happy Hour at Wild Honey.
Dude in the vineyard vines shirt outside boogie nights had a staring problem 😂 hood vid man, what were drink prices looking like at the bars in the quarter?
Did The Palm close at The Trop?
I love the Trop’s dedication to catering to the adult crowd (especially in the summertime) - IMHO that is the best thing about the property
Tropicana is such a cool place. So many things to do. You forgot to mentioned they have very cool Karaoke place Planet Rose.
That's not they're anymore, but they do have an iMax movie theater there now
You should try Biloxi Mississippi next.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Are you still in AC at Tropicana, as I would like to meet up to say hi. Love watching your videos. I am also leaving for Vegas Tuesday 11/7 for a week so if your in Vegas would love to meet up there to say hi. Keep the great work up with your videos.
Casa Taco has an incredible breakfast. The Tropicana Showroom is my favorite in Atlantic City. Wild Honey has the best BBQ in Atlantic City. The North Tower was renovated a few years ago. They have a good IMAX theater. Personally I prefer to stay and play at Hard Rock or Ocean.
Coolest: I covered hotels in AC for years … PLEASE tell me you’re checking out Borgata. Best spot in town.
Poker room is nice
It's nice to have, definitely, but they need to work on the look of it
Thanks!
You bet!
Missed some stuff:
- The a Palm has great upscale food
- Anthem Lounge club is their biggest club
- Imax movie theatre (alcohol allowed)
I've stayed at Trop . I enjoyed several concerts with Comp tickets and was treated very well by the staff. The room was modern and quite acceptable. Good water pressure, not noisy, bright walls and huge window View. However the Steak House was less than stellar. The Porterhouse was sliced way too thin and was too well done.Staff were not very accommodating and the pools were closed when I was there . Room service exceedingly slow. Rooms can be sketchy in the North Tower )roaches reported) the other towers appear to be better. I plan to give Trop another try. ansd stay out of the North Tower for a more comfortable stay.
Virtual voyagers is using your content look under Tropicana you'll see yourself in the video along with some of your content from your Tropicana video just letting you know good luck enjoy your show
i was there in Oct and a nightmare checking in but my room was not bad in the Havana tower.
How about a trip to Macau?🤔 those casinos are on another level
It's Vegas without the fun.
Headed there this week. Heard to stay in Havana Tower. Hope its not nursing home inspired.
You definitely missed out not going to Cuba Libra. That place is amazing. Open fire grill and amazing food.
And I love the car out front 😊
Should’ve went to boogie nights, always a great time.
As far as dining there are plenty of great dining spots outside the casinos. All close by
As a native of the Jersey shore, I strongly disagree about Carmine’s. It’s very corporate. Atlantic City has so much better Italian food; you just gotta leave the casino, which he didn’t do.
Chef Vola’s!
@@maryjoambrozia4180 yes that’s the best example! 🍕🍝🇮🇹
I enjoy your videos. Let me know if you visit fayetteville nc. I'd love to meet you. your friend alita
8:39 classy dude.....
I stay at the Tropicana two or three times a year my favorite casino in Atlantic City we always stay in the Havana Tower and it has self check in like it the best good place for breakfast and it's cheap Gilchrist dinner hard to find if you don't know go to the Chelsea Tower take elevator to lobby down there on the right
I’m Caesars Seven Stars and Trop is my main property so my experience is different, but if you’re going to go only stay in the Havana Tower. It’s dated, but it’s the nicest tower they have. Chelsea and West are the absolute worst. South Tower is second best. North is motel vibe. Out of all the properties in AC, Trop has the most to do on property and it even has two beach bars in front of its boardwalk. It’s the best hotel in AC IMO
Stayed here on my first ever trip to Atlantic City a couple of weeks ago. Not bad, but i agree that things are overpriced. There is a nice bar at the Chelsea Inn nearby.
Great review, but DUDE, you missed The Palm for your "lack of fine dining" at Tropicana. Might have been worth an extra half point on your strict rating scale lol
Wow when did they put a PF Changs and a Japanese place in there?
put Gilchrist breakfast in AC on your next visit!
Was the place non smoking? Never saw any people smoking.
If you highlight places to go, casinos resorts that are non smoking ? I’d go to them. Anywhere in North America.
I go during the week and sometimes off-season. I got the same room for 66 dollars
"Nursing home inspired " LOL
Nursing home inspired and assisted living chic 😂 Yeah they defiantly need an interior designer. Seems like they did amazing everywhere else except the rooms.
Slopicana
16:22 😂 when you see it...
Did not see a 4 coming, especially with the room and the price of said room. I always try to guess your rating and thought after your commentary it would have been a 3.
It's Havana themed look on Google
LOL! "Music belongs in a studio and not on stage". James maybe concert reviewing is your next direction.
1983 Rooms at 2023 prices, wow!
Trop and Hard Rock has the best nightlife.
Did you go to Ocean?
I am shocked by a 4 - wow on your scale that is insane.
The pools looked assisted living…
Are Ocean and Borgata next?
Yes actually
The two best in AC
@@Gyduker yea we go to AC all the time. Usually hit all the casinos to gamble but only stay at those two or Caesars
always stay in havanna tower
Music belongs in a studio not on stage? Huh?
News Flash: Every casino resort and high end hotel in Atlantic City on the weekend in the peak season is about 300 dollars a night. And I would wager that is the case in any beach town in the heavily populated Northeast. I enjoy watching the reviews James does, but some of his assessments are just wrong or lacking perspective. Like when he says Tropicana has no curb appeal and he is taking a video from the street in the back of the resort...like dude its a Boardwalk resort; approach it from the Boardwalk and not the service entrance and you will see it has tons of curb appeal. Odd.
So people go to Atlantic City now? Again? I grew up about an hour away and have been living in Vegas the past 20 years, that is surprising.
You stayed in the worst tower possible, come back again and pick a different tower, your trip will be a million times better.
The last time I stayed at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, the hallways smelled like piss. And I promised myself back then that I would never again step foot in the Tropicana.
Slopicana
It’s a shame you don’t like live music.
Some of the best bands in the world call AC home base.
The rooms do look like a nursing home!!
Tony’s > Carmines IYKYK
You did not stay and their cheapest room or their lowest to your room. The west tower is the lowest end room I was originally supposed to get a Havana tower room then they put me in a north room like you did and it was horrible. It was dirty and they were supposedly recently renovated. Then they moved us to a west tower room because that's all they had available and that room is horrible. It was dirty. Felt like a prison cell.
Wrong ....Borgata is the largest
Borgata isn't on the Boardwalk 😅
P.S.: Yes James, I think you're going to have to submit to a drug test. Not buying your case for their pools, hahahahaha 😉(although I agree the beach is decent) 😊
People on the East Coast really pay 4-5x as much for a lamer version of what you get in Vegas. I’ve never been anywhere with the greatest contrast of how expensive everything it is and how lame it is than Atlantic City. I’m surprised the Tropicana is so nice there. The one is Vegas is literally on its last legs.
Because you and he missed the point of the higher prices, you get the ocean/beach
@@JMD319 Bahahahahaha! I'll take a Vegas pool over walking for 10 minutes to get from the board walk to the actual water, where no alcohol is allowed btw, and then have to go pee and then have to walk for another 20-25 minutes to go find one. Not to mention the only food options being the most unhealthy or most expensive food you've ever seen in a dump of a tourist trap. I live in Seattle. I can look at water or walk on a beach in 10 minutes for free!
@@whimsicalhamster88 again, you prove your ignorance. The ocean is no more than 3 minutes from the casino doors, and alcohol is allowed to be carried on both the boardwalk and beach. There are bathrooms both within a couple minutes on the boardwalk or casino
@@JMD319 I see that change took place in 2020. I was last there in like 2015. So I was wrong about that.
Ocean Resort and Borgata are much better options than Trop
Contemporary?! I'm out.
its a dump.
"Music belongs in a studio not a stage"; may be the dumbest line I've ever heard.
Oh my this is bringing back so many memories. I remember dropping like $200 in that gourmet food store.
