Also. Be comfortable under pressure. Difference between freshman and varsity is speed and ball pressure. At the varsity level defenders pressure the ball way more. It looks more intimidating but in reality if you get comfortable with handling the pressure it boosts your confidence
im 6'1 200lbs playing for a state team along with my hs. I've been offered scholarships to multiple d1 schools (TA&M, NCS, NBS) what you guys need to understand is coaches see absolutely everything. If you try to hype yourself up in front of coach in hopes of making you song good, dont. what yall need to do it determine if you are playing this sport for fun, or for state plaques (or both). As long as you have your priorates set, you will instantly know if you need to work harder or not. You guys got this, and have the Lord on your shoulder too.
You need to understand how hard it is to make varsity as a freshmen. That doesn’t just take hard work and discipline you need to be extremely extremely talented to make varsity and let alone play as a freshmen. It is possible but you gotta understand it’s much hard then you think coming from a freshmen shooting guard who had the same idea as you
Thanks man, i’m a 5’9 freshman trying to make the basketball team. I’ve been training hard and really dedicated and i’m also glad I saw this video. Keep it up! 🔥
Making a mistake while lacking confidence will make you worse. Making a mistake while having confidence will make you better, and intimidating. Thats kinda it
0:22 having confidence puts you ahead of many people in life. To be honest the reason why people don't have confidence is because they don't know what it is and how to get it. Some people percieve confidence diffrently, but confidence is going through with something not caring if you fail or not, but when you do fail you get the information from the failure to be successful in the future.
Such great advice bro, I was the captain of my u18 team and started playing with my D1 team at 17 and i have been struggling with confidence even though i know i can play amazing with confidence. love the work💯
I really needed this video, thank you🖤 I didn’t make the freshman team but I play aau and hope to make jv or varsity and I know it’s not out of reach. I’m gonna keep these in mind and continue to work day in and day out. Thank you again💪🏼
Being fast is important and work on your upper body as a freshman, i have gained 20 pounds since the season ended and im going to work on my lower body as a 5’8 pg 122 going into sophomore season on a 2-15 team
thank you for these videos man your page has a lot of content im about to go through and hopefully find some answers. im an upcoming junior trying to make varsity out of new found love for the game, faced w the challenge of never having played basketball in school ever before. your advice about not being down on myself when i inevitably stumble a couple times is really gonna help
All these tips are so helpful as before I was nervous about shooting a 3 pointer but with a bit of confidence, I started shooting and made 2/4 threes that game. I ended up with 17 points that game. Just confidence helps boost your points from 8 to the twenties.
Confidence just means certainty, you can be confident that you’re bad just as much as you are good. The way to develop certainty that you are good is to practice and gain experience.
It might be kinda late for me idk but I’m 16 in 11th grade and I’ve loved basketball since 3 but never got on a school team but now I’m trying to get on a school team as a big so hopefully I make it right now I’m just trying to get my confidence and IQ up

Im 5,6 going to freshman my height is making it harder for me and that one of the reasons why I got cut from A to b team but Im use this to help me appreciate it
i had tryouts yesterday and i didnt make the team but the coach already at the team set last summer so he didnt even give the new kids a chance which i think is dumb because i moved here after the summer league, and i was better than over half the kids there
How do I practice at game speed? I play with people everyday at school and go 100% but I don’t have the same skill set as I do from school games to my Friday games
how can I improve myself in basketball but having to deal with anxiety (basically I wanna practice but my anxiety is stopping me from going to a local basketball court to practice during the day)

@jimmy1426 look at the stats since 2000. Mugsy was good but he partially made it because then the nba was still developing into the world renowned business it is now and they needed all the attention they could. It can’t happen anymore bro
1. Confidence
2. Watch videos
3. Become fast
Practice at game speed
4. Don't be afraid to shoot

If you’re already averaging 36 it seems like you figured it out lol. I guess I’m not sure what you mean my friend.
What do you mean by varisity being faster?
The players are faster, the pace is faster, and your reactions need to be faster.
You should shoot shots to know how much power and accuracy and good form you need to make the shot tho😂
how do I get my stamina and efficiency up?
1. Stamina - run around your neighborhood
2. Efficiency - get a lot of shots up in practice. Volume.
