William, We were amazed at your skilled technique using a stick to catch grouse. Never one to complain you were one of the most positive even tempered contestants on Alone. We appreciated how humbly you handled obstacles including Sassy. TY for sharing the priceless treasures you brought back & the wonderful stories were surely an Alone bonus. Congratulations & best wishes from wild & wonderful West Virginia.

I've been watching Alone since season 1, looking for inspiration on some outdoor skills to teach my Girl Scout troop, and I've never been so impressed, your postitive attitude was amazing, and your grouse snare 😲 and I love seeing all your treasures from the experience! Reminds me of my daughter's "indoor rocks" collection.

I had the pleasure of living on the South Labrador coast back in the 90s. I have also seen every episode of every season of Alone. So I was super excited to follow your journey on the show. All I can say is… wow. Kept saying to my wife, “Alone has had several people survive… but Bill is one I’ve very few who have thrived.” Your skills, your knowledge, your attitude, were impressive beyond words. We could not have asked for a better man to showcase the land and people of The Big Land. Best of luck with all that comes next.

Congratulations William on the winning of Alone, 2024 from my Wife and I in Burin, NL.
We watched every episode as they were released..
You really learned your survival skills from your Ancestors and from living on the Land..
It was so nice to see that you kept your cool and made surviving the game one..
From the past seasons, I could tell when someone was about to tap out and I called each person on this show as they tapped..
As a fisherman, I always said that we had strong backs and weak minds..
I knew deep inside that you wouldn't tap.. You got a strong will and it paid off for you...
I have watched all of your RUclips Videos and enjoy each one..
Great job my man and I look forward to seeing your future ventures...
Oh yes, almost forgot to mentioned that it was good to see your CFV licence plate from the 70's you got nailed on your shed wall..
I got the same thing done with mine and they bring back good memories to me of fishing back then..
Congrats again, take care and I look forward to your future endeavors..

William, it was such an inspiration to watch you on the show! Not only for your survival skills in the wilderness, but for your beautiful character, gentleness and the love of your family that shone through every time we watched you. You come across as such a good and sincere man with such grace and humility (and there were many such people on the show but you really stood out!) and we also really appreciated the respect and knowledge you had for indigenous ways. My husband and I also enjoyed bearing witness to the evident love and caring between you and your beautiful wife. We hope that you were greeted back at home with a very large chocolate cake with Dream Whip! Finally, I must say that watching you pluck grouse out of the trees was truly an astonishing thing to watch! Talk about magic! Congratulations on your win and we hope your prize money allows you and your family to do more of what you love. Canadians across provinces are proud of you! Best wishes, Suzanne and Patrick from Ottawa

You talk about carrying a piece of fat wood with you or having your fire steel in the same pocket all the time as though it was normal everyday things that you go through. It really shows how connected you are with nature and how comfortable you were with your surroundings! From a guy that grew up on the island, thank you so much for making Newfoundland Labrador so proud.

@@Biglandtrapper That's a serious mix of cultures. Just checked St Francis on google maps, looks like an extreme Wales. I'm down in the South Wales Valleys where all the coal industry happened, typing from a terraced house that was built long ago for the miners (1901).
Is your community surrounding you Irish too?
Was watching with the gf and we were totally trying to work out how this accent came together.
I hope I don't come across incorrectly but it was mind blowing to listen to, even words would start in one accent and finish in another :D
Plus lots of Irish versions of words like "tings" rather than "things". The fact you've been there for 3 or 4 Generations and it's stayed strong is pretty cool.

Hi from Yellowknife. Delighted to see you brought some coney back with you. As one who also enjoys it, two tips. Do not leave it in the freezer too long. The high fat content makes it go rancid really fast. Would hate to see that happen to your prized harvest. Second tip. Try smoking some of it. Best smoked fish I've ever tasted; better than salmon or Arctic Char. I'm sure you have smoking recipes, but would be happy to send one if you need it. Congratulations.
