As someone who just got his first drone (mini 3 pro) this kinda footage makes you look like a god. It’s also good to know that everyone else crashes too 😂
Anything will fail safe when you lose an antenna in flight. Happened to me a dozen times, but otherwise, yeah ELRS is amazing, I love it!!! GPS is useless for freestyle, you literally have to change the settings every time you take off to suit your environment, tried it, got sick of it. I personally found more issues than benefits. Run it only for long range nowadays, which I fly rarely. Turtle works only if you didn’t break your props (or motor, or electronics, etc) and they can spin freely. Hope this was somewhat useful.
@@maddercat interesting info and perspective, thanks. Preset warnings is the only OSD I utilize during freestyle flight. The other few OSD elements I employ are checked only on the ground or during DVR playback… Cruising and location scouting is another story. For the couple of GPSed “freestyle” builds I run… After I change the ceramic GPS antenna to copper wires and encapsulate it… it seems pretty durable, but I’m way more gentle on these two. My proper freestyle builds are more purpose built… But I am always open to doing things differently!
Hey tell me the location for this video, your looking at my general area on top of the mountain I have search and rescue drones and one made to retrieve quads. I could probably eventually get at least one of the lost drones back.
@@Unicyle I fly a hglrc sector d5 with GPS. Barnwell has quads with GPS on them and some other freestyle pilots. Often times they don't set up the GPS through beta flight. I did it because I'm normally in open areas
I once found a short conveyer belt that was running. I perched it and it didn't end well in the end of the belt when I fell off. I didn't rearm quick enough before the quad hit the ground 😂 Easy to find though.
Isn't it safer to just use the O3 footage (If you guys use O3) for these type of risky flights? I mean, I know you guys are sponsored and all, but losing a Gopro with each crash has got to hurt... I wonder if there are people who go to these locations looking for your equipment after you guys upload the videos lol. Also, HGLRC makes a Mini M10 GPS Module that weights nothing and locks Sats in no time, so you can have GPS Rescue ready just in case of a FAILSAFE, or you can also get coordinates in case of a crash. My 50 cents...
