I have found that music like this inspires young people more than any other kind. It is so sad that secondary schools all over the country are slowly dismantling music programs, depriving countless youth the opportunity to experience the richness that this music provides. Music like this is a life changer for the better. Todays kids need more stuff like this to inspire them.
this choir is reflecting the impeccable leadership on the part of this choral conductor. He did a wonderful job teaching these guys phrasing, balance, vowel shape, and most importantly confidence in what they were singing.
Love it ! It's great that the men used such full-bodied voices to carry through this song .....
So beautiful. I love this piece. I did it in high school over 20 years ago. It bring tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. Awesome job
It feels like the Spirit of the Lord writing upon your soul...
Being a tenor in my high school choir I truly appreciate this
those dynamics really made it come alive
brings tears to my eyes every time. i couldnt tell you why
I have only had the opportunity to sing this work once. It is in me and with me forever. To echo Nick Zolanski, Chills, Chill, Chills! And perhaps even more profoundly moving than 'beautiful.'
I agree with all the comments on the excellence of the Tenor section. The tone is almost uniquely well produced.
I am in love with the Tenor 1 soloist. Ugh that voice. I sang this in college, with only 8 men, I was the non solo tenor 1. I probably would have been as loud as this tenor, if my director would have allowed it. But he focused on all that hogwash like blend. Unfortunately, no recording, I think we would given them a run for their money = D
I think im in love with the tenors voice!
This is absolutely fantastic
Not the full version but still very beautiful.
:55 that moment when you get chills cause of that one Tenor who just melts your heart.... O_O
Amazing blend. Haven't heard the Concordia Choir like this before. Amazing recording!
What a gorgeous interpretation
chills chills chills!! beautiful!
This is wonderful...
This is absolutely gorgeous!!
NOW THIS........THIS IS MUSIC!
beautiful :)
Perfection.
wish i could be part of something like this...
OMG! An SATB choir and not dominated by the sopranos! GO TENORS!
@lightcookie1 Though the women are standing on stage, this is a TTBB arrangement, no Sopranos. :)
The best choral version of this song I've seen on the internet.... hands down....The Cornell University one is decent also... the Chanticleer version without the NAVY Glee Club is great also
@JAnthony37 Yes, yes they do.
If you enjoyed this video, I promise that you'll LOVE the American Boychoir recording of Ave Maria by Richard Clark. Just type "Ave Maria Clark" into the RUclips search box and enjoy!
wOW!!!!
No! the solo after the first male solo ending at 2:13 is missing/kept out of this arrangement.
Yay tenors! They sound great. But seriously, the second basses hitting that ridiculous D2 at 1:04 deserve plenty of credit for making it sound like music. A note like that comes out like a burp half the time.
I really like this arrangement of Ave Maria, but I really love it when its performed by women's voices
That would be screechy
this is a TTBB arrangement
You can't reply to comments anymore. Damned new system.
Anyway, I don't think that note was a D2 at 1:02. It was an F2, which any baritone, even second tenor in choir should have somewhat audibly.
@steak2468 Don't you love tenors =D
This was great almost as good as chanticleer. I felt that the guys in the background were controlled to much and the 3 in the front were way to loud. I felt the ending could have been louder and more dramatic with dynamic changes i felt the last minute or so was all mezzo forte. I think they should have used more crescendos on those moving notes. Other then that I thought it was good.
3:38
No wonder! =D!
Can't hear the sops ):
Assume you ae kidding. The sops and altos are not singing
5:02
Bravo Tenors! Besides, all man sounds great, can't hear women? these beauties concentrate driving big cars, not singin :)
This has to be so awkward for the women lol. Just standing there haha
Um, that incipit is so wrong.
beautiful :)
