I've got to hand it to you, Marc! I'm sold on a 22" griddle! I have the 36" in my garage, and I have no regrets about it. Everything you've said about Blackstone's product(s) is 100% true. Congrats on making it to National Television! You've made any meal look so easy to do! Hats off to you!

Perfect for a small family! I didn’t want the large one because of the cleaning process and it’s too big for a family of two. But the small one can do more than for two, if need be. Thanks Blackstone for having me in mind. I’m getting this from HSN.

Bought my 22" grill 2 weeks ago. Package deal with legs, lid, and 5 foot hose for bulk propane. It also came with a connection to hook it to our RV low pressure propane. All that for $174 and change. Used it all last week on a camping trip to the Hill Country. Love cooking on it.

What did I do without this for so long?2 pieces of French Toast at a time ?20 minutes for 10 pancakes ?NO MOREthis griddle is awesomeTook some time to season before first use ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHM5jmQoi4dbb0hoWSBs9hPhSwXUbGVG_ did brunch and hibachi dinner on Mother’s Day and it worked like a charmSturdy, well built and heats up quick. burners2-4 were a little stubborn but then lit up.Great addition to my patio.Bought the cover and it’s great, also bought the accessories kit - scraper is good but the spatulas are flimsy to be honest that’s my only negative.

Marc I'm going to be replacing our propane Nexgrill that we use when camping with our RV...S. AZ for almost 7 months in the winter. With that I've always thought about cooking on a griddle and am now convinced that the Blackstone will be the one after doing enough research to know that it is the one for me.
I was thinking the 17" but after seeing your video on the 22" you changed my mind. The 22" will not only be fine for the 2 of us but there are many times that we have 6-8 over for happy hour and then some sort of dinner. The 22" will serve our needs much better.
Thanks Marc and happy 'flat topping'!!

Great vid Marc. Last spring I was looking for a bbq for weekend trips on the boat and found HSN and the 22” BS. I have the 28” at home and knew this was the perfect grill for boat and ATV camping trips. I like the fact I no longer need to pack pots and pans to cook a meal for 6 out camping. Cooking made easy. I use the 28” at home 2-4 times a week regardless of the weather here in S.E Ak

I bought grilling oil called Whirl. It is liquid buttery oil with a very high smoke point and is super nonstick. It is what restaurants use for hashbrowns. It is worth the $28 for a gallon, I use it on eggs on my Blackstone ant it browns hashbrowns like nothing else!

FYI, I diced my taters up and coated them with my regular seasoning mix - lemon pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic pepper and black pepper. I started them in bacon grease and switched to olive/canola oil after they had mostly cooked. They were out fking good. I guess they cooked in about 15 minutes on first, high, and ended up on low on my 36 inch Blackstone. I also grilled chicken breasts, seasoned the same way

Thanks for the review. If you wanted to know about "the whole nine yards". During WWII, many of our fighter planes were loaded with long chains of ammo to feed the machine guns mounted in each wing. Each chain of ammo loaded were nine yards long. So if you really unloaded on a enemy plane or ship, you gave him the whole nine yards.
    Now you know.
BTW, Is the 22 inch griddle still working well?

Actually we do know where "the whole nine yards" comes from. I forget which one, but one of the WW II fighters held 9 yards of fifty cal shells for each gun. So the saying arose "I gave him the whole nine yards!""

The pilot who said that told his comrades that he saw a German pilot who had a reputation of shooting at our pilots who had to parachute out of their planes. So he gave the German the same respect he gave us. someone asked him did you get him and he said yes, I gave him the whole nine yards

"The Whole Nine Yards" Meaning originated from World War II. The airplanes ammunition were bullets that were linked with chain 27 feet long. When a pilot shot the entire chain of bullets at the opposing plane it was said he gave him everything he had. He gave him the "Full Nine Yards"

Every thing looks good except the burnt eggs, and try a little paprika on the potatoes when you are frying them and a little more oil and they will brown up real nice. Here's a hint you may not know buy some really cheap eggs and before you do any cooking on the grill after it heats up take about 3 eggs slightly beat them up in a bowl and grease the grill and then scrambling them all over the cooking surface and toss them in the trash. This will clean the grilling surface of the grill and keep food from sticking.

Camp Chef uses a cast iron cooking surface. Their 2 burner is also $150 more, and sold out EVERYWHERE as of April 2021. The cast iron is appealing, but I've used a friends single burner Blackstone. Which do you prefer? Cast iron, or rolled steel?

I love the two burner part. I have had the 17 inch for a couple of years now. My question on the 22 inch does it come with a nice carry case like my 17 inch did? I only used my 17 inch a few times & had a couple of small rust spots in middle. Watched video on how to clean & remove rust from blackstone & it is ready to got. But I think because of the two burners the 22 inch would be better for are small party of camping. But like I said does it come with a carry case like the 17 inch did. Canvas zipper carry case is what it was.

There's a video from Blackstone where they give steak cooking tips. The chef puts a small tin of lit woodchips next to the steaks then covers everything to try and infuse flavor.

Why is it that, at restaurants, we always scrape and scrub every bit of carbon off our flat top every night when closing?
Is this necessary? Or were my bosses just trying to keep the flattop nice for resale value?

    • @higgy6988

Your restaurant's griddle is COMPLETELY different. Look at how thick it is compared to this one. A little ice or water and that griddle cleaned right up. Put ice or water on this when it's hot and it likely will fail. It's too thin to handle the thermal shock. Most rest. equipment is used until it's completely worn out plus 6 months. lol. Resale is not an issue.

I have to disagree with you on the repositioning of the oil drainage now being in the rear of the griddle. Even though there were issues with the drainage being in the front of the 36 inch I would still rather have it in the front.
