Where I live, we're getting our water treatment plant modernized, a new clerk of the court's office, a detox/recovery center, funding for low income housing, parks upgraded, a new fire truck, bridges repaired and roads paved, thanks to the American Rescue Plan.
Democrats are earning my vote because they are doing things I can see and touch that improve my community and make my life better.

Governors have the right to declare an emergency and call in the National Guard to support law enforcement and restore and maintain order. That SHOULD have happened in Nashville. That is what SHOULD happen if they try that crap again.

The constant protest in clear violation of the law at Supreme Court Justices homes was ridiculous. The law did not say violence. It is against the law to be there. They posted in the paper where these judges children went to school. The application of the law is so unfair.
I said before what should have happened when these protesters were marching outside of the homes of those Supreme Court justices. The other residents of the block should have gathered outside and locked arms with each other and marched towards these protesters and pushed them off THEIR block. Those protesters did NOT belong on that street. They did NOT live there. How dare they march down a street where they do not live and disrupt the peace and safety of that street. It should have been made very clear to them that if that is how they wanted to play, that they would be met with equal force by neighbors who cared about the street that they lived on. That is what would have happened if I lived on that street.

Yes, I agree. Elected Officials would be allowed. I would say no staff at all, but I would be willing to negotiate to 2 staff members per elected official.
There are Judicial branch members who would be considered bureaucrats, or unelected. The other unelected would be some record keeping roles, such as stenographer.
So we need some bureaucrats, but that is where we could eliminate most of these useless jobs that are on the federal books.
I am not opposed to City, County, and State governments being more liberal and having large employee counts. I would say your 85-90% is probably a good % that our number of federal government could shrink, and most likely our country would be far better off without some much waste. Not to mention all the buildings, computers, vehicles these folks work in or use, could all be sold off for a lot of revenue, and there would be much saving on utility bills.

The law states that it is illegal to protest in front of the home of a Justice in an attenpt to influence their opinion(s). It does not say it is legal if you are being monitered by U.S. Marshalls. This is what the AG said justified the protesters marching in front of the homes of the Justices without being arrested.
