- It’s summer, and everyone wants to be outside! If you love escape rooms, but also love the warm weather, why not try making your own escape outdoors in your backyard (or in a nearby park)?

Thank you! I love it - it attracts the birds to my bird feeder and that's how I spend my summer mornings, eating breakfast on my deck watching the birdies splash and eat! :)
This is so creative! How fun! You definitely put a lot of creativity and planning. I loved seeing their reaction to the "angry neighbor" message. I think we have the same fishing set, haha!

Awesome way to make an escape room - I liked the gummy mermaid puzzle with the color counting. Your brother-in-law figured that one out quick!
He did. He figured out lots of the puzzles too quickly. They finished in half an hour! I should have added a couple more really hard puzzles. Next time I'll know better!

I guess so! I didn't mean to, but I had so many people asking to 'hire' me that I decided I should try to make it into something. I've already done one birthday party and have three more booked. It's perfect for me really!

I love designing these rooms! If I had any technical skills with computers or electronics, I'd love to learn how to make those fancier puzzles. ;)
There's more than one way into a puzzle box. lol. This would be a great idea, especially for right now. Maybe I shouldn't say it too loud, but it's been pretty pleasant weather wise around here for this time of year (high 80s, low 90s). This is a great outdoor game while we aren't melting from just being outside.
Our next week is supposed to be boiling hot (33 degrees Celsius, I'm not sure what that is in Fahrenheit). That's almost too hot for outdoor games! :)

This is a fantastic idea!!! I am going to get my Mom to help me do this the next time we have company over.. this is a GREAT idea.. because fall is coming and we tend to use the fire pit a lot! I've also saved it to my watch later list so I don't have to search too hard to find all of your links again!!

wow this was a really well designed outdoor escape room and it doesn't cost a lot to make it. They had a good time figuring out the puzzles and they weren't too difficult. 👍👍😁
I have since added a couple more puzzles to this just to make it a little harder. They solved it so fast, it made me realize that this room needed a couple more challenges! ;)

It is looking good for our second summer here! Now that I pretty much have all the perennials I can fit, I need to invest in more annuals next year to really get the colour to pop! :)

They are not too difficult to set up, but I guess you can't set one up for yourself! LOL Hopefully official escape room locations will be opening up to the public soon!

You could make it in a park or any kind of green space. You'd just need to bring maybe an inflatable little pool to act as the fish pond. ;)

Hi I'm just wondering where and what it's called the red lock where you have to put the pattern into open
They are called directional locks. In the years since I’ve made this video, they have discontinued these locks. Perhaps you can add an extra clue where each arrow corresponds to a number, then that will translate into a 4 digit code for a regular lock instead.
