Didn't zoom in all the way , just enough to fill frame. I was only about 40 feet away. If you look at the short below video at the end of this 27 sec one I did zoom in all the way as the lighthouse was about a mile away. vimeo.com/249039487
thanks, the FZ-2500 is a really nice camera. I use in for events and weddings also. Still have a GH4 but my lens has been needing to be fixed for a while and haven't bothered since I have 2 FZ-2500's.
this is the one I used for the close ups. Sometimes 1" away, focus was auto doing touch screen. You have to also get a step-up ring 58 to 67mm. Originally I got this lens for my GH4 12-35mm lens which is 58mm but that lens had been in repair for 6 weeks so I tried it on the FZ-2500. You will have to zoom in until the vignetting goes away, other the that it's sharp. Between $25 to $30- look at ebay for below: Zeikos ZE-3458F 52/58mm 0.40X Pro HD Super Wide Fisheye Lens w/Macro Attachment
I used one I already had that I use on my GH4, it's for a 58mm size so I had to buy an 67mm to 58mm step down ring. I used the FZ-2500 because my 12-35mm lens for GH4 is in for repair. I like the 2500 better than GH4 because I don't have to changes lenses. I had to zoom in some to get rid of vignetting and a lot of the closeups in this video I was 1" or closer to what I was filming. Here's the lens link on ebay, it's only around $28. www.ebay.com/itm/Zeikos-0-18x-Super-Wide-Fisheye-HD-Lens-for-52-58mm-with-Macro/263945936677?epid=101705555&hash=item3d74675f25:g:XbQAAOSwfsFZd1ln

Hi, did you use the camera mic to record the sounds or an external mic?
The birds & Hawk were camera mike, the bees were recorded with a Tascam recorder one day and added over the clips of the bees
Which Lens attachment did you end up buying. I’m in the same hunt.
