The drugs made her a completely different person. And with that she ended up treating me really bad sometimes but I would always be there for her, trying to figure out how I could help her. Some years back she made me listen to this song. She told me that this song was her dedication to me and that I was her "reason to start over new". I cherish this song to this day and I listen to it quite frequently. We have decided that she is through with this life and that she will do all she has to do to make a comeback in this world. I, as a mother, refuse to let it happen again. This song gives me hope.

The record company obviously believes in the artist. I agree with your observation about the red ribbon. Red fabric is often used in live theater to represent blood, which is exactly what I thought it was too. I love the way your dog wandered in and out of the video…. Totally oblivious! I think this is a really beautiful, heartfelt song. The video is so distracting..I have never been able to see the relationship between the lyrics and the video. Funny story, don't think I've ever heard one other song from this band. 😆 must have been under a rock in the 2000s.
