I've just started taking classes of a Samba-Enredo group here in Brazil and it took me 2 classes to realize there had to be a roll in there in order for you to play faster. You just showed me in 10 minutes what it took me 5 hours to figure out lol. Thanks, I'll be paying a whole lot more attention to you channel from now on.
I learned a lot from this dude I'm from Argentina and we play a lot of Batucada and the hardest part is the triple stroke middle, edge, and rim. Learning to play it as a roll rather then a three strikes was very helpful.
Hi Celina, you can use these rhythms in all kinds of samba songs. Of course in the songs of the samba schools, but also in more MPB sambas. Good luck!!
@tisBenG In a musicshop where they sell brasilian instruments. Or you could look on the web for shops. I don't konw where you live. Here in Holland we have Brasilando.
Humm, Na verdade não sei ao certo mas comprei o instrumento para sair em bloco de carnaval. Mais é samba e tentar um inicio de chamada para bateria . Tipo: tatatatatapumbum.rsrsrsValeu!!! fico no aguardo!!!
Quero aprender a tocar este instrumento. Se possível favor montar outra aula para ainda mais devagar com passo a passo para que pegue o jeito. muito obrigado!
Thanks! Playing it as a roll saves a lot of energy, but it isn't easy. Are there youtube films from your group? By the way, some people call it repinique and some repique. I don't if there is a difference between them...
Michael, nice video! It's hard to find a video with so many detail ! I just bought a repique and the edge of the repique its quite high and the drum stick always touch the arrow! Can you help with that!? Thank you

What is the model of this repinique?
This is Meinl (wooden model)
Where can i get one?
What program did you use for making this video?
Thank you! I can't help you with the high rim. It is probably because the edge of the skin is also high....
