Ollie the man with the biggest set of balls I've ever seen. Your a machine mate, those sharks gave me the creeps. Mad respect for you brother, luv watching your adventures, happy hunting champion.
Bit of Jamie Oliver coming out there Ollie 👌 Awesome to see 👀 how much Respect & Effort you put into the Ocean's Beautiful Bounty. Cheers 🍻 From Aus 🇦🇺
Another quality production thanks mate! I’m an Aussie and I hope you will forgive me ‘cause I laughed when the sub titles pronounced fish as “Fush”. Sorry I couldn’t help myself~
You've done yourself proud again, Ollie. Hope you guys weren't too badly affected by the cyclone. My sister is in West Auckland and they coped a flogging.
Awesome content man! Found you a few weeks ago and am just working through the videos. You’ve got a great talent at this whole video creation thing with amazing content in beautiful country. Keep it up man!
Thanks so much for having such wholesome content we can watch with my four year old son. He’s Learning about the different fish and where to find them. Thanks also for being humble and even showing when you miss. Very much enjoy and appreciate your content. Thanks Ollie!
I love how you teach, commentate , as well as share your point of view as you experience every second while spear fishing, whilst doing it all at the same time 😅🙏
Dude, when you missed that second shot on the kingy I burst out laughing! Your heart wasn't in the shot man, I've been there. This was a killer day and I'm so glad you shared it with us!
Hey Ollie - just wanted to thank you for yet another incredible video. The work you put in behind the scenes must be incredible; drone, Go Pro, along with the natural presentation style. Oh and great spearfishing to boot. I was in the Coromandel at Christmas for a few days and loved the place - you certainly do it justice in every way. Thanks for the content mate and I hope you are reaping the rewards.
Great video once again! Give the nigiri a small burn with a blow torch gives it an amazing taste! Try to cover the rice with fish so when you use a torch it doesn't burn the rice.
Ollie, thank you so much my friend...we are all finding ourselves looking forward to your videos...showing us, identifying and explaining the great variety of sea life is our favorite. We live in the Great Lakes region of NY near Niagara Falls and we have nothing like this. I have shared your channel with many friends. Great Stuff....
Hello Legend, At 18 minutes, when you shoot the snapper, what is floating in the water! Is that plankton? If so , Wahoooo….!!!! , that’s why the water you’re diving in is so rich… Also, as always, thank you for the adventures. Chris from the UK
Nice job! Man that raw fish looks tasty! A hint if your shaft is not bent: I found myself consistently missing high, when I realized I was seeing too much of the gun instead of aiming or pointing along the shaft. My fix was to give the gun a final "push" towards the fish, which actually forced me to straighten the gun out in line with my vision. Give it a try!
Love your videos and your respect for nature and your kai, You have inspired me to get into spearfishing/diving, cheers Ollie Wishing you a bountiful harvest and beautiful conditions on your next adventure :)
Hey Ollie, I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and love the content! Let me know if you're looking for a new housemate, love the cook up, looks delicious!
This was a great video of a great day spearfishing! Would you be keen on providing a quick gear breakdown before you hit the water? Gun length, band ID, band length, shaft size, range as a result, how you rig your shooting line, etc. I'm a serious Spearo diving in new England and I love hearing what other divers use and are successful with. Thanks Ollie!
Another great vid Ollie, awesome content and visions once again. Lucky housemate alright, can we make a booking at Ollie’s Sushi train bro that spread looked delicious. Cheers again stay safe
Hey Ollie, top effort. Matilda (5yo) is keen to see you catch a few crayfish if you get a chance. Loved the vid and really rated your raw fish cookup at the end. Stepping it up 👌🐟
Haha, the Mercs. My back yard. Yep the bronzies are feisty there. Not such a bad shot. You would have got it if you didn't have that reel set-up, because you can steer them with a forward shot. Let out float line till you reach the boat and haul em in from the boat. But get that line tangled around your wrist when a 200kg bronzie gets it and you might get a fright, though you seem pretty hardy. I had similar happen with a bad rearward shot on a big kingy and the float line around my wrist. Freaky getting pulled down. Remamber weighted you only have about 5 - 10 kg of boyancy vs 200kg fish pulling down. Also shooting from the surface never works for me, I always miss.
Awesome content as always Ollie. I think more people should be aware of this way of living with everything going on in this world atm. Stop relying on the govt to pay/supply for their next kai etc & rather finding a way to gather their own sustainable kai. It does help a lot when the costs of everything is going through the roof, people can save more $. As long as people find the knowledge to go back to where we first started, the world would be a better place! Just my opinion
Hey Ollie. Awesome videos man. I’ve got a question in regards to your rob Allen timberline. How is it in the water? How does it compare to a double band 1100 roballen? Looking at upgrading. Is there that much difference? Thanks bro
Incredible bro. Love your vids. Question: I live on east coast of US and the fish advisories here say not to eat the fish you can legally catch spear fishing bc of chemical contaminants, mercury etc etc except for 1/month and some species 1/year. I’m just wondering if New Zealand has those kinds of laws or are the fish there just that much cleaner than here so there’s no need to worry? I’d love to get into spear fishing but there’s no point if you can’t eat what you catch or if the fish you catch is going to make you feel ill or what not. Am I right?
We have some of the more cleaner waters in the world in most places so no issue there! But in saying that, like everywhere micro plastics are starting to show up in some species unfortunately
Anorher awesome video man.....what I want to know is how the hecka do you manage to find a wind free day with the weather we've been getting.....I can't seem to get a one.

My Dear brother Ollie, I have been spearfishing SOLO for over 40yrs. Many close calls, including GWs. Look after yourself 👍👍🐬🦈🦞❤
awesome video mate, do you reckon you can make a video on how to deal with sharks around when spearfishing or in the water in general? Cheers!

Mean underwater footage of our waters, good mix of species to take home too. Hardluck on the boarfish, probably better off in the water anyway.
Amaaazing!
