    Hi thanks for a great video, I appreciate your patience.
    Is there anything I can do about the same type of pins when they stick out a little.
    I poke them back but 5 minutes later, they end up catching clothing and plucking fabric.
    Cheers in advance

      They most likely need to be manufactured shorter. There is a chance the pin end is hollow with the spring inside. If they are attempted to be filed shorter, the spring might come out. If the ends are solid wire, with the spring starting further away from the ends, filing works.

    My watch is plastic but when I try to put it in it just pinched my finger really hard. Even with a tweezer because it slips out of the tweezer and the force on it

    What if the hole is not deep enough and the pin always pop out ? What should i do ?

    • @theoverengineer
      @theoverengineer  6 лет назад

      1 drill deeper hole with jewelry drill bit sizes, $6 for a set at www.leevalley.com product # 81D40.27
      2 get a pin that fits, there are different sizes

    Does stainless steel also break easily

    • @theoverengineer
      @theoverengineer  Месяц назад

      Everything breaks in material science, depending on magnitude and direction of force (a tractor will break that watch) and material chemistry (window glass breaks but fiberglass does not), so stainless steel designed for a purpose should work for the purpose (its design loads and direction)

    I have a Rolex Daytona, no matter what I do the spring pops out, any advice ?

    • @theoverengineer
      @theoverengineer  5 лет назад

      Pin is possibly 1 mm too long. Do not try to cut is shorter. There might be dirt in the hole the spring bar fits in.

      @@terryquinn1419 you scratch the watch lugs multiple times with the exacto blade.
      There are specific tool available to remove and reinstall watch bracelets.
      Your method with with an exacto blade is dangerous, crude and ineffective.
