Thank you Mangold for taking the time to watch my video and post your comment. It can be configured to access another consumer wireless router so you can offload data (meaning not all connections to the NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Gigabit LTE Mobile router will use the SIM's cellular data plan). However, I have not used it as a portable WiFi repeater. I purchased a WiFi extender to use with my NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Gigabit LTE Mobile router given that the range of this router (even when set at maximum) doesn't cover the entire area of my living quarters).
Quick question, Can this be connected to any provider and if so does it need an unlimited data plan with hotspot or just unlimited data plan? I’ve been looking at carriers and only some offer unlimited data and 40 gigs of hotspot
Thank you Ever J Torres for taking the time to watch my video and post your comment. I believe that the device requires an account attached to a SIM card to have hotspot capabilities. If the carrier doesn't allow for hotspot, I don't believe that this device will work with that SIM card. One doesn't need an unlimited data plan with hotspot capabilities. Unlimited data just means not having to track one's usage. Unfortunately, I'm not able to test if this will work on an account without hotspot capabilities since my account does have the ability to hotspot. It also has unlimited data but that's irrelevant. Even if it didn't have unlimited data but had 100 GB of data (or another value), as long as the account is not completely blocked from using hotspot capabilities, you can use it in this device. The only thing is that if your carrier gives unlimited data but only 40 GB of hotspot, you can probably only use 40 GB on this device. If your carrier's plan comes with 40 GB and includes hotspot, you can use it in the device but depending on how your carrier handles overage (charging you extra, cutting off data completely, or throttling you down to 2G speeds), once you reach 40 GB, you will be subject to how your carrier handles data overage.
Thank you tyler sinou for taking the time to watch my video and post your comment. It uses a microSIM card and not a nanoSIM card. In terms of whether you can use your phone's SIM card, it will depend on your carrier and whether they allow you to easily swap SIM cards between devices. I'm in Canada and with our carriers, we can generally swap SIM cards between our devices (there are certain exceptions for certain plans). What I mean is that I can take the SIM card which is in my Android phone and stick it into an iPhone (as long as the SIM card size is the same) and I don't need to inform the carrier about this before doing it. They know what device the SIM card is in anyways when the devices registers/connects itself onto their network.
Thank you Hernandez -Tech for taking the time to watch my video and post your question. I'm located in Canada and I'm on a grandfathered plan with unlimited data which is no longer being offered. As shown on the top of the display screen, the cellular service provider that I'm with is Fido (not that it makes much difference since even if you are located in Canada, the plan is no longer being offered)

Thank you Thomas for taking the time to watch my video and post your comment/question. Yes, you can use the ethernet port for a PC or laptop or even a regular router. The reason for using the ethernet port in a regular router is to increase the range of the WiFi signal which comes in handy in a house/building environment since the distance that the WiFi signal works is somewhat limited (it doesn't cover my entire place). In this sort of set-up, you would be connecting your device to the regular wireless router and not to the NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 device. In an RV environment, you won't need to worry about the range.
Thank you Rychie carlvin rhee for taking the time to watch my video and post your comment. I would consider getting it as long as it is available at a reasonable price unlocked where I live. So far, except for the minor things that I mentioned in my video, I'm very happy with my NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 Gigabit LTE Mobile Router/Hotspot.
Thanks for the Video! a question: the Nighthawk can be used (in need) as portable wifi repeater? thanks
