A little detail I picked up, Nate's suit is a copy of the one Roy Kent wore when he returned. It's almost like he wants to emulate Roy but doesn't understand what makes Roy feared and respected
They definitely imply that a bit when Roy comes in about his eyebrows and Nate immediately starts focusing on his own, as if he's just trying to mirror Roy.
The opening with Colin and his Lamborghini is a call back to an earlier episode where someone made the remark that it was too much car for him and Colin completely agreed.
@Johnny_Socko I either need a compilation of "Maple Doesn't Get The Reference" clips or* a video of Arianna sitting with Maple through a pop culture speed run lol
I love that Y'all paused to go watch the "Bye Bye Bye" music video. Aside from being fairly hilarious it was absolutely necessary...that song is a Banger and the Vid is peak '90s.
Nate was written for the show with as much value as all the other characters you know and love. Def what the show is about: how to deal with broken people who act out, and how to become a better person is not the same playbook for every person. Easy to forget how Jamie started, yet look how he’s come good. One of the best TV shows of all time: Can’t wait for you to se more!
The Nick Mohammed break down was amazing. Nate always had some sus moments, from the very start and even his father said something that sounded rude because we know Nate has a difficult relationship with him. But he was right: true humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. Which wasn’t to put Nate down, because he said “they will put anyone on the paper these days”, and his dad was saying: “don’t overthink it, you did good but also don’t let it go to your head”, and that was always Nate’s problems. He overthinks everything either for good or for bad. He overthink Ted’s friendship at first, and later his absence. But he knows Ted is going through something, and he always put himself at the center of things. He is the reason something went right or wrong, Roy became a coach because he is not enough, Ted is not doing this because HE did something, Will is after him, everything. And the hints were always there. There are so many recurring themes in the show. Hurt people hurt people is a theme, paternal relationships is another, world changing friendships, falling in and out of love (Ted and his wife, and the couple who paralleled them), fear of being alone while pushing people away, etc
Idk, I feel like part of him was mad at her for taking so long to tell him. She told him about Nate immediately, she even told him about sleeping with Nate in less than 24 hours. But it took her days to tell him about Nate's love confession.
6:03 I was born an American, but my parents are both Ghanaian, so I understand a bit of Twi... what Francis said at first I couldn't understand at all but according to my parents, the literal meaning is "I am shaking your hand." and then he says something that I definitely DID understand, which was "Wo ho te sεn?", which means "How are you?" 14:30 Cape Coast Castle is pretty interesting, as it was a fort used to transport slaves during the Atlantic slave trade (sorry to bring down the mood by mentioning such a regrettable part of our history, but it is what it is) and I recommend anyone to visit it if they ever go to Ghana.
Shoutout Trent Crimm to be honest. “As a journalist, I had to write that. But as someone who respects you…” Man has had AMAZING development seeing what a great and genuine guy Ted is.
The actor who plays Nate is grey-haired in real life and they decided to allow Nate’s hair to go grey from the end of season 1 through the end of season 2 by allowing it to gradually change. It is a year that has passed, but that is a rather quick transition.
05:23 - When Maple reveals yet another piece of Western pop culture that has been seen by over 7 BILLION people walking the Earth - and that she totally missed! I love her! PS- This is coming from a man who has never seen Titanic, or Avatar.
Once Rebecca was on Ted's side and Jamie comes back trying to be better, the show needed someone to bring that tension in... which now is on Nate. About Roy and Keeley, when I watched this episode I never thought it was about him not choosing her, but about him feeling out of place around her "light" and that is why he spent those hours with the teacher to feel more at place. Or even to kinda sabotage and get to the photoshoot late.
Re the second season stressing you out, consider it the second act of the series. Even though the team are rising stars again, this season is all personal conflict. The Lasso method is working on the field but off it, everyone is addressing their self doubts and learning there may not be easy solutions.
12:00 - Lol, Bone ThugsnHarmony reference goes completely over Maple's head. Haha, she thought better of asking after the NSync fiasco earlier in the video.
A legendary rant...Bill is at his best when he's ranting. Listening to his podcast on my miserable commute to work is what fuels me to get through the day
It's so interesting to see that Maple and Arianna appear to understand what the show is about, and yet their reactions (Maple's in particular) are so viscerally hostile to Nate. In one way I suppose we could put that down to great writing and performances, but in other ways (and everyone will have their own reasons), well, people are entitled to see things their own way, I guess. Even in their blind spots.
I never liked the Nate character, a little too stereotypical and makes some leaps that are too far from reality even for this show, but you need these antagonists in the show or things will be too boring.
Stopping the reaction just to watch an Insync video just so everybody gets the joke is God tier reacting right there.
I am Intensely Curious how that looks on Patreon.
… and it will pay off if they ever watch Daredevil and Wolverine.
It must have got heated cause Ariana came back missing her jacket lol
I appreciate the pause to complete that particular side quest!!

"Listen to your gut. And on your way down to your gut, check in with your heart. Between those two things, they'll let you know what's what."

Arianna had enough of Maple missing key moments in pop culture history and had to pause the recording 😂
I feel like the whole channel has been leading up to this moment. 😄
@Johnny_Socko I either need a compilation of "Maple Doesn't Get The Reference" clips or* a video of Arianna sitting with Maple through a pop culture speed run lol

"But Rebecca loves Sam!"
Keeley, no!
"Yeah we all love Sam!"
Good save, Ted.

Well said. I was really against Nate after that but you made me look at it from a different perspective.

@@chrisschultz2506I was against Nate to the very end until beard told us about that loaf of crack.
Hurt people hurt people
I mean... This show is NOT one of the best tv shows of all time, but it is pretty good.
Roy isn't mad at Keeley, he's mad at Jamie for telling her that he still loves her.
Yep
Idk, I feel like part of him was mad at her for taking so long to tell him. She told him about Nate immediately, she even told him about sleeping with Nate in less than 24 hours. But it took her days to tell him about Nate's love confession.
@@Athasin this is true, they just seemed confused why he looked mad at the moment so both these explanations work.

Sam and Rebecca. Yes, CHEERS.
Jason Sudeikis' real life uncle played Norm on the show.
Noooooorm!
Love the Good Will Hunting reference/homage! Such a great episode! ♥ this show!
I absolutely LOST MY MIND at “Darren’s Dance Grooves”! 🤣🤣🤣
The HOURS I spent watching that video! 🕺🏻
"You spelled favorite wrong!" I love that part!
Shoutout Trent Crimm to be honest. “As a journalist, I had to write that. But as someone who respects you…” Man has had AMAZING development seeing what a great and genuine guy Ted is.
As someone who didn't know what song they were dancing to: thank you, Ariana. Interesting video. I never listened to NSYNC before.
That "son of a bitch stole my move" was a cool throwback to Good Will Hunting.
Jason Sedekis is the real life nephew of Norm from Cheers
Arianna pausing the video so they can introduce the uninitiated to NSYNC is the most millennial thing ever.
11:36: Yup Cheers!

"Get him out of my fictional universe" 😄
She did not spell favourite wrong!
24:21 just noticed that they referenced Good Will Hunting lol
Remember who whispered into Nate’s ear at the funeral…..Rupert ! Rupert is the one behind this.
I think I completely missed this episode somehow the first time around. I especially enjoyed the scenes with Ted and doctor sharon.
I'm so ready!

When do we get to to see Ariana & Maple start to review season 3? Specifically episodes 6 & 7... Two of the best episodes they made IMHO.
12:00 - Lol, Bone ThugsnHarmony reference goes completely over Maple's head. Haha, she thought better of asking after the NSync fiasco earlier in the video.
You have to remember Rupert poisoned Nate's mind last episode

LMFAO funniest thing ive seen. so true
I don't know that the trees don't compete for light. To quote Rush, "the maples scream oppression and the oaks ignore their plea".
That’s a fun limerick song with zero scientific basis.
The Trees was not meant to be based on science…it was making a political point about socialism
Because nothing says ecological reference like a song about sentient, talking trees.
@@Jplusk200 Which we have now learned that trees actually operate that way in the wild, not as the song was using as metaphor.
yes, Cheers. You'd love it it's a brilliant show

Maple’s really never seen the Bye Bye Bye music video..?
Well, she has now.😉
I know it's not the usual content, but I would love to watch you two watch The Detroiters or I Think You Should Leave
Modern day supercars are not that hard to drive, unless you're in a sit com
Sam & Diane > Sam & Rebecca
Absolutely agree. And I'm sure Coach would too.
I agree, but I give credit to the show for keeping it watchable and funny after Shelley Long left. Rebecca's neuroses were fun to watch.

@Diegesis where is the HP movie 3 reaction?
Read The Mother Tree by Suzanne Simard!
No... Give us the reaction in a separate video, please
pirates of the carrabians 4???? Maple!!!
Are you two going to watch dexter series?
❤❤❤
Nate's gotta go. I've seen people fired for less.

What they did to the Nate character is the ONE thing i really heavily disliked about this show.
Start reacting to Cheers!
nate, criiiiingeeeeee
Please PAUSE when you discuss something. 🙄

Are you girls doing THE HOBBIT trilogy reaction?? Pleaseeeeeee, do it.
