I like it. To bad they don't do Savage actions. I'm looking for something for a Savage long action. And isn't a chassis system. My 110 Stealth is in a Drake chassis and I wish I would have gotten the 110 with the HS precision stock.
I’ve had one since right after they were released. Overall, it’s a great product. My action fits well and it matches the accuracy that my rifle had when in my MPA chassis without bedding. The only complaint I have is that the M-Lok inserts have some flex. When adjusting cant on a bipod, the insert flexes a good bit, no matter how loose the tension knob is on my Atlas. I’ve noticed this same issue on the Ridgebacks that I’ve handled as well. Everyone that uses them seems to be ok with it I guess. It’s not huge deal, but it’s a little annoying to have a stock that suits my needs so well with a flaw that shouldn’t be a problem. Making the inserts a little thicker around the edges, or making an additional point to fasten them to the stock near the center of the insert would fix it.
I love my Grayboe Renegade. I was just at the range this morning thinking it was time to ditch my Magpul stock that I decided to try out since I found one for $140
A couple of years ago I bought a now discontinued model Grayboe stock- accuracy was awful- found a large void behind the recoil lug- filled, bedded, ok. Seems the void had a paper-thin layer of paint covering it up, a few recoils made it apparent. FYI, YMMV. Good value for the money.
similar feature-wise, but this would be for the person who prefers the look and feel of a traditional stock instead of a chassis. I feel like the bravo and xrs are in a different category. Don't know...I'll have to give that some thought.
Oh and hey - for you guys giving the Thumbs Down - are you really making a statement about Joel and the work he did or your perception of the stock? Dont Thumbs Down because you dont like the stock, that impacts the channel as a whole.
I don't think that's the reason Grayboe made this. This is a hunting stock first and foremost. The bravo and xrs are crossover stocks primarily aimed at the PRS/NRL competitor.
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork Most hunting stocks don't feature a vertical grip. This just looks like a higher priced carbon copy of both stocks mentioned. Both other stocks have all of the same features for less.
Yeah but then your in for what another 160ish bucks ? come on Grayboe , KRG and MDT offer similar chassis with features for 150-200 less, that’s maybe a 100 rounds now a days lol

@@wathaet1386 The GRS Berzerk might be 50% more weight than the phoenix. The Bifrost is much lighter. The Greyboe phoenix may still be lighter than the bifrost but not 50%. Having held the bifrost and the phoenix in my hand, I'll take the bifrost everyday and twice on sunday.
I think @Grayboe missed the mark on this one. There are better hunting stocks out there. They made it too light for most competition. They're still only doing pillars and no v-blocks which means you've usually gotta bed it. It requires bottom metal that's $150 extra. Much better play would have been a full aluminum chassis that could compete with the KRG Bravo and MDT XRS. good point. come to think of it, my ridgeback does the same thing. I've never tested to see if it effects accuracy though.

I have their Ridgeline stock and it’s fantastic as well! Next hunting rifle will certainly have one of these!
definitely nice stocks. Thanks for watching.
Ordered one a couple weeks ago for a b14r can’t wait till it gets here
Looks like a great product that won't break the bank. How's the tension on mag latch on the Grayboe M5 bottom?
No issues. Similar to others.
The stock looks smooth, is it textured at all or textured enough?

For comparison, the XRS is 3.9 pounds, the Ridgeback is 3.85 pounds and the KRG Bravo is 2.9 pounds. Bravo grip looks vertical, also...
Thanks
It's nice. I'll go with the Cadex Defense Strike Nuke EVO you reviewed a few months back.
they definitely make a solid product too
Always wondered about these!
Sounds like a great way to upgrade the rifle from a well know designer!
How does this stack up against MDT XRS or KRG Bravo

yeah, what he said. lol
How is the forearm flex when loading the bipod. Can you move it enough side to side to get it to touch the barrel or is it pretty stiff?
Still pretty rigid. I guess getting it to touch the barrel would change based on the contour of barrel you choose. There's quite a bit of room.
So its another stock to compete with the MDT XRS/KRG Bravo and it costs more than both? i'll pass.

Just my honest review of the Phoenix stock.
dude, its a precision rifle hunting stock.. the weight is their key selling point. if anything its modeled after a McMillan game warden or game scout.
If it accepts AICS mags I’d be down for that price.
It do, just have to buy the bottom metal.

Curious how this compares to the PSE E-Lite as they are very similar in weight.
Sorry, no idea. I don't have the PSE to be able to do a comparison.
Can't see if it is balanced or not. You can't add a weight kit to this so just curious as all your photos with the bag are without a mag in.
As it sits, here in the video, the weight is to the rear. Balance point basically right under the magwell.
@@PrecisionRifleNetwork thanks for the update Joel
Will it take MDT 223 mags?
Yes, I believe so. I have one, but didn't try it in the gun this time around.
What size arca rail are you running?
mounted on this rifle is a 4 inch section of picatinny, but a guy could put an 8-10 inch ARCA rail under there with no problem.
Too bad it doesn't come inletted for a Tikka T3x. With how popular that brand is, you'd think more mfgs would support the action.
I would love it if it did
No factory hunting rifles come with LOP spacers? You mean other than the Savage Accu-Stock.
I don’t believe I made any definitive statements.
