Excellent job getting your catamaran ready for the ocean. I personally think that y’all could share more of the how to’s. But, understand that time isn’t always on your side. As if you were on dry land, or just land period lol. Enjoy your sailing days on the water. I have binged watched all of your videos, and really enjoyed watching your videos. Can’t wait to see the next video. Stay safe, and sail making memories
Coming over from Parley. You guys are my new heroes. Great work / great life.

Got here from Parlay, loved the I gotta drill a hole in my boat sequence.
Niiiiiice. Thank you. Was going to install a Spectra water maker, yet will now do a comparison research. 👍
We are very pleased with the Seawater Pro!
Parley sent us over! Keep making memories and inspiring others!! We did what you’re doing on dauntless on a 44ft 5th wheel camper for almost 2 years with our now 7yr old son and 5 yr old daughter plus our late 100lb giant schnauzer, Sampson. Really enjoying your journey!!
Parlay
So glad you are enjoying our videos and thank you so much for your support! We hope you continue to make memories on your journey as well!
Subscribed from Parlay's episode of you, can't wait to find the Tesla install video.
Let us know what you think
Greetings from White Rock British Columbia Canada!
you have taught us about solar, how to install Tesla batteries (how are they holding up by the way?), and now how to make our own water!loving this...
so Kym and Sad its on you gals to teach us how to garden on a boat....cheers alll, love watching your adventures.
Glad you are enjoying! It's so funny you mention that because we actually do have a few plants on board!
Like others...landed here from Parlay...good job⛵️👍
Nice work on the install!
Thanks!
Came here from Parlay, super glad I did!
Glad to have you!
Another PR rep dropping in to say hi. Liked and subbed.
Awesome thank you!
Colin got me here with his video about you. Binged your channel in one day. Good things going on here and subbed. Looking forward to watching your adventures
Thank you so much for the sub and your comments!
Watching from Los Angeles, Ca And, we saw you on Sailing Parlay Revival! Congratulations! Making fresh water! Now! Steve Miller.
Hey we are in Ventura, CA!
👋
Thank you! We are very pleased with how its working!
Got link from Parlay! Looking forward to your adventures.
Looking forward to sharing!
Only just started watching your channel - AND this may have already been covered. In your early series you were using propane for water heating, be aware, many other countries use butane ( you may need a substitute jet replacement plan ) also many sailors have found that they could not fill up their LPG tanks internationally due to different connectors, there are connector kits available. I hope this helps down the track.
Just binge watched your videos and now looking forward to see your adventures on your world travels. Are you going to complete a sailing course to get accredited.
Nice water maker install no bilge crawling 👍😁
You got that right!
Colin sent me 👍🏻👍🏻
I would have put the sea strainer on the suction of the low pressure pump, or all the debris goes through your pump and can damage it.
There is one there also, it shares intake water with the guest head
@@SailingDauntless perfect, still would put it on the suction side though, double protection!! keep up the good work! liking the channel!
I am really envious of your incredible use of solar power and that you got to keep most of the comforts of home.
My question is about the way that the Watermaker membranes are plumbed in series, one feeding the other, instead of in series, where each one has an equal input. I imagine that each one has a different membrane so that there is a #1 and a #2.
Thank so much for sharing your incredible story! Today was my first time watching your channel because I found your friend from the terrible Below Deck Series TV show, where the crews are chosen by the Producers for maximum drama!
new to the channel, following you guys based on the take with Parlay
Welcome! And thank you for subscribing!
came from parley
Great going guys...love the videos...one thing though. Your intro is just too long....anyone who watches any of your videos down the road, will go to the first to meet the family :) I personally skip the whole first 1:13 .....keep it up and I'm subscribed.....again, thank you for sharing your adventures and life....for now I'm being a couch sailor myself till about 20 more months till retirement hahahahhahaha
We are working on changing the intro. Just getting some footage to make sure its everything we want it to be in half the time! Glad you are enjoying the videos and thank you for subscribing!
Water!
Parley sent me here and Subed. Where did you learn your electrical knowledge? I’m impressed 👍
Parlay sent me her. Subscribed. Dont let me down😉
Thanks! "I sure hope I don't let him down" said in my best Forrest Gump voice😂😃
Just came here from Parlay. Love your enthusiasm and willpower. I wish my family was a bit more like yours.
A quick tip that will definitely boost the production value of your vlogs: invest in a nice external mic and if possible a gimbal or steady-hand mount. Y'all definitley have the content, now you just need the equipment.
We are in the process of upgrading our camera equipment, this video was filmed a bit before we got a new camera. Thank you for your support and we are so glad that you are enjoying!
Parlay revival sent me... Interested in the batteries... I do have an ice maker on board not quite as big as yours!!!(I never thought it would come down to who's got the biggest ice maker)....lol 21 gph ??? What are you going to have a water park on board ??? Love the parlay revival sticker on the door!!!! That damn Jamie!!!!!
What happened to the thru hole to bring water in? Nice video
do I like it ? - I like it a lot ! Attention there is a shared first place on my watchlist - Dauntless & Parlay . . . thanks to "tyler angelo" and his fantastic 3 girls
I love you, the whole family, we want to do the same. I discoverd you only one week ago. Super. I hope that my dreams went in to memory s.... big Love and hugs from Belgium, today but hopefully in 2 months from now in Turkey. New start, new floting home. Jan & Annick. Sorry for my bad English ;-)
Great video -you guys are really getting comfortable with the camera and it shows! What HP is the motor for the high pressure pump and what does it draw?
Thank you so much! Our high pressure pump has a 1hp motor and it draws 1300 Watts.
I too came over from parley and went back to watch some of your first videos. Question Ty, is there a story behind the toenail polish? lol. I thought I saw polish and thought no, I didn't see that then saw it again. I thought, hmmmm, I bet there is an interesting story here. Good luck guys, glad you're able to follow your dreams!
There IS a funny story..... I have daughters and pedicures are a thing, so I go and I figure if I’m paying for it I might as well get my monies worth 😂. Besides the girls love it
@@SailingDauntless That's awesome, making memories with your daughters!
👍👍👍👍
What booster bump did you put in for the water maker? How is the install working for you? We have a very similar unit to this and will be installing it this spring before we head south from Ontario Canada
Just came over from Colin's channel. Look forward to watching your journey. Was just wondering, other then the back flush you mention how much matainance is required on one of these systems, how often do the membranes and filters have to be replaced? I bet you are going to wish you had mounted the pumps on isolators, they sounded pretty noisy in the shop tour.
Membranes should last 10 years, and replacing the filters depends on how often you run it, how long you run it for and the quality of sea water that you are running through the unit. We replace our 20 micon filter once a week, at 71 cents each. The sound isn't too bad in the isolated cabinet that we built. For us this was the most accessible location for service and maintenance.
Mike at Sea water pro is awesome to deal with my question is why did you use a existing discharge port instead of drilling a new one that’s what we did Don’t like drilling extra holes if you don’t need to
He is! We used an existing intake below the waterline but added a discharge port above the waterline.
Sea strainer goes before the boost pump ,
why didn't you set up a remineralization filter?
Hi Guys.
Those membranes look to be over a meter long. Where is the room in that space to pull them out and replace them with new ones.
David. Down Under.
how is the seawater pro working? Any complaints?
Thanks for not showing me you can sand and paint! Nice video...
Lol we didn't think anybody really wanted to see that😂😉
hey...I am a jump over from parley and I did suscribe.....so a 2 part question......how does the 10 battery banks you used compare to a powerwall (amp/volt/capacity) and which videos do you lay that out....I know 2nd question is lazy but.....lol
I believe that the power wall is just shy of 3 individual battery modules. But as you cannot buy a powerwall with out buying their solar and getting it installed in a physical property address, it doesn't apply to our situation, so I don't know. We talk about our batteries in episode 1, Power Series Part 2.
I'm new to your channel. Excellent! May I suggest posting a google doc that SIMILAR to a catamaran for sale that lists specs with price of boat and final price for you with highlighted changes?
thats not a bad idea
That episode is coming. EVERYONE wants to know how much 🤑
Great work, your location for the membranes appears to be challenging for service or changing the membranes. Is good access required or maybe it’s there and I missed it.
The panel in front of the membranes is removable for easy access, we just didn't show it in the video.
@@SailingDauntless you’re a real pro at your work...very impressed
All caught up... Now what the **** do I watch? :)
Did you screw the pre filters straight into the inside of the hull? Or did you glue plywood or seaboard to the hull so you can screw the filters into it? Thanks!
Epoxied plywood to the hull, then mounted the equipment to that.
@@SailingDauntless thank you for the reply and thank you for your videos. I have a down payment on a Fauntain Pajot Elba 45 due early 2024. I have a long list of upgrades I want to add and your videos are inspiring. May God bless your journey ❤️
Your welcome and thank you for watching! Good luck with the new boat!
Where did you get the small sea strainer? This is not part of the Seawater Pro kit. I just order two of them
That is the strainer that they included 4 years ago.
Came over from Parlay. Please do some research on battery chemistry. I am afraid you have put a fire hazard on your boat with those Telsa batteries. LiFePo4 are much safer for marine use. The Telsa batteries are much more energy dense, but not worth the risk out at sea.
did you give yourself enough room to change the membranes?
Yes sir
Hi.
Link to Seawater Pro is coming up with a 404 page not found error. Don’t want you guys missing out on any revenue.
One quick question, in terms of the framework that you have mounted the water maker on how is that fixed to the hull please ?
Called Seawater Pro and got it figured out!
seawaterpro.com/ref/15/
the link is also updated in the description box below the video! Thank you so much for catching that!
Hi there . I'm new To you're channel and I think it's great but apart from the Bleeping. I find it very Distracting As I wear a hearing aid and it's very Loud. Sorry for the complaint .keep up with the good work 👌 from the uk 🇬🇧
Here from parlay howdee from caye caulker belize if yall get this way come see us southside Durdwoods
Will do!
How hp is that engine? 1 hp or 1 1/2?
One HP
why a 110 and not DC?
48v motor that I wanted was not available yet. We have one now for the 50 so we will highlight that when we do the install
Your link to the watermakers is broken 😢
Sorry for the delay in response! We got it figured out with Seawater Pro and it should be all good to go!
most important part is missing from the video :/
You do know people liked those kind of videos right they wanna see the boring stuff
I knew it wasn’t just me
