Well thanks to like-minded people such as yourself I position myself in the last 6 years to take advantage of when prices go down certainly not going to buy them now price point... but I will be buying them as prices adjust...
It's easy to point fingers at government regulations and minimum wage, but those are just symptoms of bigger issues. The real problem lies in how wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, thanks to outdated financial practices that are rarely enforced. Instead of just focusing on the surface-level issues, why not dig deeper and consider the root causes? It’s time to move beyond old economic mindsets
^^^^^ Not how I wanted to phrase it but youtube kept censoring my other comment. Anyway, I'll bring up yet again the solution of a wealth tax on assets worth over $10 million or more. It's an important solution never discussed for obvious reasons.
I'm a 58 year old male that can fix anything. For any young males watching this... LEARN TO FIX STUFF! I turn down work NON STOP. What I see is so many young guys don't know how to do anything. TRUST ME... if you learn to fix stuff, work will beat a path to your door. My skills CAN'T be outsourced
@gcxred4kat9 you speak the truth. A friend of the family knows how to do everything, and he's always working and he still has to turn down jobs. In this messed-up labor situation American men are better off learning how to *fix* things because it's much harder for migrants to handle all the specifics of fix-it jobs.
True. My technician background has come in handy as value added for the couple I work for as a high end furniture finisher. I save them $ on little side tasks like switches, fans, door knobs, faucets etc. And being reliable and trustworthy are job security!
I had same experience. Several phone interviews where I have been told they were really impressed by my background and even told me that they will contact me by either end of the week or next week and nothing. Have a bachelors degree in engineering yet, can't find a job. These ghost job postings should be illegal. There is a reason why everyone hates people from HR department
@@t.a.5659That's interesting, so why is everyone talking about immigrants being employed as engineers in mass numbers if they are refusing to employ Americans?
I have two engineering degrees and left the field after being replaced a couple times by H-1B workers and off shoring. I went into IT and purposely took a lower paying six figure job with a company that is depression proof because I saw this depression coming. I also prepared by buying 5 acres then built multiple homes on it for my extended family to be self sufficient. For those who don't think we're in a depression, consider the fact that the US has 206 million able body adults of working age yet we have only 133 million full time employees. That's 37% unemployment. All government numbers are lies. Do you think we have 2% inflation? Do you think we have positive GDP and the economy if growing? Quit drinking the kool-aid and prepare.
Yep, and most relatives are lousy employees, especially in the restursnt business, favorite nephew gets the best seating tables and makes his own schedule and leaves when he wants, and cznt remember his food orders and we have to carry his trays out, but not fair cause he is blood, owner thinks this kid is a genius, it is what it is!😮
I followed the news from Janesville, WI when the GM plant closed 16 years ago. I spoke with a newspaper editor there who said there was some division in the community… not everyone had sympathy for the GM workers because those good jobs had gone to people with connections.
Was laid off in ‘93 from an aerospace company. I’m aware that times were different back then. But I can honestly say the feeling of searching for another job with no success was disheartening. All I can say is hang in there. Something will come up. Giving up is easy-persevering is rewarding.
Yes. 40K employees were laid off then. And you wouldn’t guess who was promising our jobs back? Diane Fienstien and Barbara Boxer. They were the speakers at the rally. BTW those let go were never were rehired.
Interestingly, the industrial jobs are supposed to be in demand, oh well, or so they say, Biden pumped hundreds of billions into the industrial development it seems, but... No one has the skills and it appears no one is interested to get them... If you think about that the average (!!!) age of electric grid components is 70 years (the US is sitting on a grid that mostly wasn't upgraded since the 1950s). To increase industrial output younneed to upgrade and expand the electric grid before anything could happen. Does anybody have any idea how many trillions of dollars and how many decades this work is going to take? And if you don't do it, the industrialization is impossible. Same applies to water systems, wired high-speed internet, sewage, etc. If there is no industrialization, the US becomes Chinese economic colony within 15-20 years.
I once was jobless for six months and hated it. It was depressing and boring. Stuff like this is why I'm so grateful for my current job. It may not be super high paying, but at least I have a source of income.
People who aren't facing the job hunt struggle don't seem to understand what is going on with the layoffs, ghost jobs, and scams roaming about. Getting a good paying job is hell rn be it for entry level or experienced roles.
My mom's bf got fired because he wasn't with his company long enough to qualify for disability due to an illness and his doctor told him he couldn't return to work for a while. Now that he's in better health I've been helping him market his home improvement and yard work side hustle including snow removal and he's doing well. I started at Costco for seasonal and worked my ass off to be made the only permanent employee after the holidays. Competition is rough, but I'm thankful my job hunt frustration is over, at least for now 🙌 ghost jobs are rampant right now!
I am a high school dropout and felon since I was 18. I am 50 and own 2 homes. One in Palm Beach County and one in Gatlinburg. I have delivered pizza all my life and done home repairs, plumbing, electrical wiring, car repairs, and built gaming PC's for folks as side jobs all my life. I have no debt and bought both my homes with cash. Far too many folks fell for the college degree crap. Learn something and go do it while working a regular job. 13 per hour delivering pizza with tips. Average 23 per hour and a couple hours every evening can pull a hundred or 2.
I have navigated several career pivots. My advice if you do not have a job is to suck it up and work a job through a temp service, valet, kitchen, Uber, etc. keep it moving. Apply for better jobs. Having any job is better than the feeling that you can’t find any job. I worked in the kitchen of a Hooters on weekends, with a masters degree. Most kitchens hire help on the spot.
You can’t even drastically change up your descriptions written in the resumes that you submit to new employers because background checks conducted by ADP SAAS, when combined with information from Equifax the Work Number, do have old previously submitted resumes in their database, and will mark some items as omissions, unconfirmed or inaccurate, which they then leave up to HR and the hiring manager to determine if these inconsistencies are a deal breaker or not. I know the above because I dealt with it at my last 3 employers, one of which made us do a new background check every January, due to the contracts that they had on certain projects. I had to appeal to get the corrections sorted out by having past employers write letters that were sent directly to ADP SAAS and Equifax The Work Number. The result was a lot of annoyed past bosses and a skeptical HR who hadn’t seen anyone respond so fast to get the corrections sorted out You can’t career shift to these fields either, even if you go back to school, get new degrees and state recognize certifications and licenses. The staffing shortages are self induced by the public and private sectors, that is being run into the ground by the Old Gen X and Young Boomers who are now in charge, since almost all of the old Boomers and the Silent Generation are either in nursing homes or dead. So Gen Z is right, why bother, because it’s an expensive gamble to go STEM professionally, only to find out, due to gatekeeping by the current “management class” that being a good “culture fit” outweighs completing the 4-7 years of objective measurements done through formal education and testing.
agree 100%... did you land a job in the field of you study ? argument on other side is that those jobs keep you from landing career job ( but rent can't wait )
I got laid off in March. Didn’t find something till December I feel for you all. Just keep applying. Choose 3-4 companies you really want and just throw applications. I learned its a numbers game
Ehm, no. If you couldnt get job for almost a year, it was your skills and effort holding you back, for example you were applying to positions that were simply out of your league...
@@Bitcoin_Gold Dude I threw about 400 apps to my top 3 companies. Probably like another 50 to each of the other 5 companies that weren’t my top. I went through a two month period where I just completely stopped applying. One of the companies in my top three SHUT ME OUT of applying because I literally applied so much (I would get an automated email saying I was restricted from applying for 90 days) I started up again late October and got the one I now have. It’s literally a numbers game.
If I’m being honest I guess it’s been a blessing always being denied a real job my entire life. Despite College degrees and trade certificates nothing ever pays off. Starting my own business payed off. I can never fire myself, and I can diversify my income.
at 49 years old it took me a year to find a job. it used to take a day, a week, or maybe a month at the most. all of those online applications just forget it. it doesn't work. for every job posted there are 1000s of people applying. your application will prob never even be seen by anyone. the only way to get a job now is by knowing someone or just getting lucky and walking in at the right time.
I might be there with you in the next couple of years, if not sooner. My employer has been laying off engineers over 50 years-old for "skills gap", and hiring 26 year-olds for half the price to replace them. I haven't seen a new hire engineer over 30 years-old in over a decade now. The work ethic of the replacements though leaves a lot to be desired, which is something they're starting to see now.
@@francismarion6400 no specific field. i don't have a degree in anything but i did go to college for 3 years. i never could decide on a major or what i wanted to do. i was applying for everything above, at, even below my experience level.
it's the yin and yang. you need the builders and at the same time you need the engineers to draw up the designs and schematics.. can't have one without the other.
Well, maybe not always, I wouldn't trust a surgery to a plumber. Depends on the task. In the bad times people tend to just keep the lights on, in the good times they are shooting for the stars. This requires a very different skill set. That being said, the US education these days is crap anyway. It's just another way to strip people from their money in exchange for ephemeral promises. Musk doesn't bring lots of Indian engineers and pays them top dollar for no reason.
I just went t through same at age 55! I interviewed like crazy last year and kept a part time job paying less than ideal in the interim. Agism exists big time! But I finally found a company that liked my resume and pays well! I also kept my old part time job and they gave me a raise to stay on. This follows having my dad live w me in a very small apt while he went thru dementia. Just keep looking!❤
Trumps coming Tariffs that he is hell bent on implementing in 2025 is going to put the final nail in the coffin for the economy. It's going to cause massive inflation and be a disaster for the economy and job market.
In New Jersey there is a pet store I go to that was jammed thru pandemic that said family that owned it squandered money on vacations cars etc. now there empty and having hard time with credit to get inventory.. i c the same thing with so many small businesses including now contractor friends/business associates. I warned them nobody listened. Im old and started my 1st business in late 70’s no credit high unemployment., i work physicall and mentally hard everyday (in my 60’s. I love working hard I have no debt and I’ll be fine cause I’m not a pig that is going to get slaughtered.
Just wait until Trump implements his Tariffs in 2025 which will lead to huge inflation and job loss. Things will only get worse going into the second half of this year.
I have a coworker that is about 55 who was laid off about a year ago. He's still looking in the tech industry. And you are correct, many companies have fake job listings. Every place I have been at that have had mass layoffs, there were external job postings still up at the time and afterward.
I think many companies, especially in this day and age, place little emphasis on actually finding employees through online listing's. Let alone keep them current. Most utilize head hunters for the majority of their hires
The problem with Mike Rowe is that he's not talking about the crappy pay among these skilled trade jobs. He just says... "Oh! There's a shortage of mechanics, welders, etc. What are we gonna do?" He's not talking about the root of the problem, and that's the low pay.
@Billtheboomer I was making $12/hr as a welder in 2020. I quit and became a door greeter for Costco, making $29/hr plus full benefits here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. No wonder why there's a shortage of welders. This is something Mike Rowe doesn't talk about.
I was an auto technician many years ago. Loved the challenge / diagnosis but was treated horribly with low pay, little training , tons of terrible warranty work. And that was at a Benz dealership! People are shipping their cars to the few good techs left out there sometimes 1000 miles or more.
Mike Rowe is a fraud of the elites to sell upper middle class people that these jobs all pay great and the kids are lazy, it's so obvious. Did Michael really drop his name? Lol
I taught myself how to remodel houses. I've been buying, remodeling and selling houses now for 30 years. I didn't rely on a corporate builder to pay me 9 bucks an hour swinging a hammer. Learn the skills and then start a business on your own.
I've been through 10 jobs in 10 years. I became an absolute warrior at finding work. At the moment, I'm in a great job, but the company is struggling. All this in and out of work has devastated my savings. So now, I'm deep in debt. I own property, and I have a plan, but my choices are dwindling.
How much land do you own? If you can I recommend goats. They are cheap to raise, generally healthy, reproduce fast and sell easily at least everywhere I've been. They can be a pain to fence in. My goats pay my property taxes and buy the hay for the year. I feel for you. I was in Oregon during the stupid spotted owl thing and it was impossible to keep a job for more than a few months because of all the closures. Good luck and never ever give up. The pendulum always swings the other way.
The market has been rough! I have a mortgage owe 20k. Finally got a new job after being unemployed 8 months. I'll be making triple payments to get it paid off in case I'm let go again. Then I can work at a local gas station and be okay.
Probably laid off because the company didn't need you because their revenue is in decline. If you know tech, then you should easily be able to start your own business.
My spouse was laid off in July 2023 - luckily had a generous severance pkg (33yrs with company). Has interviewed 30-40 times in last 18mos but hasn’t landed a new job. That was followed by my layoff in Oct 2023 (I had 15yrs with company - in my career this was 3rd time I’ve been laid off), luckily I turned 62 before my severance pay ended in March 2024 so I took early retirement. We were able to keep health insurance through Dec 2024. Thank God we worked hard, saved, invested, and got everything paid off 5yrs ago. We had been preparing and loading pantry / freezer since 2020 so inflation didn’t hit us as hard as others and we had cash to buy CD’s now with rates around 5%. Despite our strong financial position - I’m still concerned about economy and a possible quadruple crash (residential RE, commercial RE, stock & bond market, and dollar collapse).
@ - yep I have metals too - bought them gradually over years beginning prior to 2000 when gold was $250oz & silver was $5oz; I’ve really loaded up on “brass” over past 2-3yrs (unfortunately time is quickly coming when you will need protection as economy crashes) - all Federal stuff from pandemic is over, once severance pkgs and unemployment runs out Mar - Apr - May we are going to see all hell break loose. I volunteer 3 days a week - 2 are at a food pantry - our volumes have tripled or quadrupled in last year alone - last Friday we saw 30 clients (when I started volunteering 1yr ago we saw an avg of 5-6 clients on Fridays…..
My daughter just bought a Tesla EV and she was telling me about all the subscription services for it. She could get a self driving mode on it, she could get a special charging service on it all kinds of things and each one of these services cost anywhere from 50 to 100 extra dollars a month subscription wise, ridiculous
@@nataliepierce-shult1052 I prefer the subscription model. Going on a long trip, buy self-drive for a month. Don’t pay 20 times as much to have it when you don’t need it.
I graduated high school in the 70s during a similar time as we have now except add a gasoline shortage. My only real option was join the military I figured what else could I do as a youngster with no experience. I ended up making a career of it. I feel bad for people caught in today's turmoil I know this pain.
I graduated then too. And I remember the gas lines. Today's life situations are far more difficult than they were then. Back then any job could support you. Any job could pay rent. The middle class can't afford to buy houses now. And getting priced out of their homes due to skyrocketing insurance/property taxes. I know interest rates were high back then but the $1 has lost 90% of it's value since then. There were no homeless. There were no people who had a job and still lived in their car because it wasn't a liveable wage. There were many stay at home mother's back then too. Now that's not feasible. All stores had checkers. Now half of them are self-check out. I worked in customer service. There were no chat bots to get an issue resolved. The movie theaters were constantly full. Now people have cable /Netflix. There were pensions. It was no problem getting a full time job with benefits. Now corps intentionally do part time to avoid it. People are having to piecemeal 2 and 3 jobs just to survive. Concert tickets were $10. EVERYONE could afford concert prices. Compared to now?.........Beam me back Scotty

I haven't worked (electrician in Denver) for 2 months. I have been replaced by illegal immigrants. They work for half the pay, don't follow OSHA or National Electric Code standards. They are also subsidized by our tax $. I have never collected unemployment in 30 years of working. Now I am having trouble collecting it. Soon I will just be another homeless Veteran people pretend to care about.
So sad and totally unfair. Illegal immigrants need to be sent back. It's unfair to people who legally live there and worked and paid oodles of taxes in their lifetime. It's hapoening everywhere.
@patrickhale2087 i know this isn't much comfort, but in today's crazy world everyone is busy fighting their own battles. It isn't that people only pretend to care, it's that our society is so messed up that almost everyone needs help.
I had a side gig where I started at $10 an hour and worked up to $21 after 20 years. New minimum wage hikes put new hires around $19 to start and I didn’t get any kind of a bump for longevity, loyalty, or anything so I retired.
Hard to believe companies don’t realize the damage done by bringing new hires in at or above current wages, especially long term employees, but it happens every day.
Make the waffle and coffee at home. If you don't have a waffle maker make a pancake. Use instant coffee and hot water. Don't be stupid and pay for food that you can make yourself.
I have a few friends that are lazy asf they get fired today and without wanting another job they get jobs easily but the good workers that cared and do the right thing won’t even get a reply 😂😂😂 the world is upside down
So glad I stuck it out in the military for 20 years and got a pension and healthcare. That plus the VA compensation from the injuries/medical conditions I got from those 20 years with multiple Iraq deployments, I can cover my housing expenses. If I had to I could work multiple part time jobs to pay for living expenses.
I applied and applied and i applied. What I learned - DO NOT APPLY ONLINE. Call the businness or email HR directly like I did. It wasn't even an interview but they already had an offer for me.
Doesn't work !! If you apply and just walk into an establishment to get the job, they're going to tell you to go home and wait till they make a decision
😂 ... liar For sure they told you to apply online for a specific position. HR only assists the departments in finding the right candidate. Eventually the departments choose who to hire. HR then does the onboarding.
It's been like that since 08, and it's had an effect on almost all wages because it has a downstream effect. When it was just illegals, people turned a blind eye because it wasn't them and they liked the cheap labor. Meanwhile all these boomers don't understand why their kids are struggling even though they are working harder than they ever did.
companies dont even need them now. they just open offices india and have them work from there. my company has hired over 1000 people that way, and practically begging americans to quit.
This is the main issue that no one wants to talk about. Illegal immigration has decimated the trades, and I'm sure hospitality and service industry as well.
All these issues stem from an economy grappling with uncertainties, including housing problems, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and the aftermath of the pandemic, leading to instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions demand urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.
In retirement, safeguarding your wealth against inflation is essential. Consider options like TIPS (Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities), commodities, or foreign currencies to hedge against a weakening dollar. Diversifying your portfolio with global real estate, international bonds, or high-quality foreign stocks can provide additional protection and growth opportunities in an inflationary environment.
With my demanding job, I lack time for investment analysis. For seven years, a fiduciary has managed my portfolio, adapting to market conditions, enabling successful navigation and informed decisions. Consider a similar approach.
Certainly, there are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with Jennafer Beaver Turner for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She's quite known in her field, look-her up.
Thanks, I looked her up on Google and was very impressed by her credentials. I reached out because I need all the help I can get. I've scheduled a phone call with her.
I’m a trucker here, and I can verify how bad it’s getting out here. The amount no offense to the foreigners I know everybody’s seeking a better life but they’re bringing so many of them over and replacing people like that been out on the road for 30 years for half the pay. These new drivers are dangerous. They have very hard time speaking English, they violate a lot of the federal safety laws and the DOT Department of transportation they they look the other way they don’t mess with them because they’re foreigners. These are the drivers that are working for like Amazon and FedEx the contract carriers. You’ll see I’m sitting in the middle lane of the interstate with both feet on the dash watching the movie on their phone and completely ignoring all the traffic around them, that’s the worst part of it
About a month ago, I was on the highway headed to Columbus. There was a semi truck that started to make me uncomfortable. After about twenty minutes watching it swerve and change lanes without turn signals, speed up then slow down, taking two lanes around bends, I got off the highway and waited about 15 minutes to lessen my risk of traveling with him in my pack. I’ve made this trip from Pitt to Columbus so many times, I knew the construction barrels were coming up, and he wouldn’t be able to navigate them. Next time I see anything like this, I’m going to have to call the cops.
Not too surprised the lady is having issues getting a Customer Service job. Most of that has moved to online documents, or overseas. When someone in the Philippines gets paid paid $5/hr it is tough to decide to hire someone in the US.
As an electrician that is 73 years old retired receive a pension and of course receive my social security and Medicare I still work to obtain extra money the typical electrician when you go to work for a company only pay 30 to $35 that's nothing I charge $70 an hour and yes other electrician charges much or even more but if you go to work for a company they pay you peanuts you can't make an honest living on 35.00 an hour in truth we are in a depression They just don't want to tell you this

@@s99614 True but it is far more common than in the past. A lack of concern about right and wrong, moral concern for others is rapidly evaporating. We are living the consequences of an increasingly immoral society.

To a certain degree saving can make things easier. But the problem is the high inflation that makes life per se expensive. Basic accommodation, nutrition, transportation ... has become rrrrrrreally expensive. There is no more room for cutting costs. 🤷🏽

Sounds like your wife needs to find a job with health care benefits or to vote for people who support a national health care system that removes the insurance middlemen from the equation. By the way, Chuck and Nancy and the rest of our elected officials don't need Obamacare because you pay for them to have the best healthcare your money can buy.
I've definitely learned from a good friend of mine just how bad the job market is. He got laid off from a job at Walmart just before Thanksgiving. The absolute worst time to be unemployed! He applied to so many jobs but none were hiring, meanwhile having a negative balance, in debt and was on the verge of being homeless. Luckily, I was able to help him out by having him work a company I'm currently in. Even though he was not getting much hours he's at least getting unemployment benefits now, so now he's slowly recovering financially. Plus, he recently won $4,000 worth of lottery winnings! Which was an absolute miracle! 😂 So, in a way, even though my job, which I've been doing for 11 years now, sucks, it's at least keeping me sustained until I eventually find something better.😅
I have been out of work for 13 months. I see two main problems, 1. employers for some reason want to offer lower pay than is reasonable for the position, and 2. They employers are not serious about hiring someone. In the experience I have had seems like she is 100 percent spot on.
There is a lot of uncertainty in the market. Of course companies need to do the math in order to make it through these times. If not they will be gone. 🤷🏽 But guess what: Amazon, Microsoft et al. will still make huge profits in this time.

Was laid off in December last year, applied to about 1,200 job postings, working the county and state employment offices, a temp agency, and a veteran employment office. I've had 4 interviews in the last 12 months. Not looking any better today, then it looked 12 months ago.
Here in Australia over 50 and it's all over with the exception of horrible menial minimum wage jobs that nobody wants or a highly specifically skilled industry.
The secret to having a job when there's not any is to be willing to do the hardest, worst stuff you can find. You'll either swallow your pride or lose your stuff and starve. It's pretty simple at the end of the day.
Prior to my current job I was out of work for about a year. Towards the end, things got fairly depressing and bleak. But, I landed on my feet with a solid company and have been there a while. If I were laid off again, I would not take any breaks from when I was let go to when I started looking. The job search starts day one. Also, I would join as many meetup groups as possible. Many jobs are available but are not advertised. Word of mouth can be key. I would also go to the gym 2 to 3x per week to keep up my physical health and provide some routine.
The best thing is to avoid job search. Each year of unemployment throws you back in your life progress in particular when it comes to settling down and building a family. 1.) Never get unemployed. 2.) Find a career that cannot be cut easily. 3.) If you lost your job, take the time and make a plan i.e. 2.) E.g. My wife was a professional executive at a c suite level and she was laid off last year . Now beginning in 2025 she still has not found a new job yet and has applied well over 500 jobs. Only got 2 interviews and both ghosted .
9 nonths for me. I settled for a warehouse distribution center because rent, insurance, car, food bills never stop. Went from working at a large international bank as a network support tech to lifting boxes and moving product. Its a huge humbling experience, esp after 369 applications and resumes total and only 2 interviews.
Wow that is so crazy.. because I literally got laid off from tesla back in June around that same time frame mark in the year.. 😮.. So guys I had no idea the job market is this horrible
They are laying thousands off. Getting a job is going to be a nightmare. The only good thing about being retired is you don't have to look for a job even if you don't have any money.
They sure are making them return to the office. So many people tell me how much more productive they are at home. They say….i save travel time, parking, avoid chatty coworkers. But the thing is…those are all YOU problems. Not your company’s problems. The same people who are so much much more productive at home also tell me they take their dogs to the groomers, attend kids school parties, get their nails done, binge watch Netflix…..so, yeah.
When hungry people get desperate, that's when things get dangerous for everybody. That's "always" my main worry. I urge everyone who is able to donate not just money but "food"
Me and 5 guys’ positions were eliminated aug1st..been on unemployment. Michigan gives you 20 weeks , not even 26 which is exactly 6 months..been sending resumes like crazy few leads here and there , some too far from my home..getting worried,I got 4 weeks unemployment left..
I moved to Kansas after the last financial crisis from Michigan. There aren't a lot layoffs here. My sister just moved in with me (3 months ago) after losing her job in Michigan and got a job at Frito-Lay within a month. Also, under certain conditions, the state will give you up to $15,000 for moving here.
@ that’s cool state of Kansas right? Wonder how the pay is for machinists there? Prolly not as good as mi…with all the car sales way down ,shops are tightening up and or laying off..sucks

The Big Crash of 2025 is upon us. Will make 2008 and 1929 look like a cake walk put together.
Large corporations have all the power now like they did 1870-1933.

Not how I wanted to phrase it but youtube kept censoring my other comment.
Anyway, I'll bring up yet again the solution of a wealth tax on assets worth over $10 million or more.
It's an important solution never discussed for obvious reasons.

The result was a lot of annoyed past bosses and a skeptical HR who hadn’t seen anyone respond so fast to get the corrections sorted out
You can’t career shift to these fields either, even if you go back to school, get new degrees and state recognize certifications and licenses.

It all boils down to greed. It's not about trying to make the world a better place anymore.
I applied and applied and i applied. What I learned - DO NOT APPLY ONLINE. Call the businness or email HR directly like I did. It wasn't even an interview but they already had an offer for me.
Best comment!!
Exactly! But once everyone catches on, then this advice won’t be relevant.
Doesn't work !! If you apply and just walk into an establishment to get the job, they're going to tell you to go home and wait till they make a decision
😂 ... liar
For sure they told you to apply online for a specific position.
HR only assists the departments in finding the right candidate. Eventually the departments choose who to hire. HR then does the onboarding.

It's been like that since 08, and it's had an effect on almost all wages because it has a downstream effect.

I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with Jennafer Beaver Turner for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She's quite known in her field, look-her up.

58 and it’s brutal out here. After 6 months I’m finally up to 2 part time jobs. It’s still not enough to cover my bills. But it slows the bleeding.
You’ll see I’m sitting in the middle lane of the interstate with both feet on the dash watching the movie on their phone and completely ignoring all the traffic around them, that’s the worst part of it
You said it all, they are dangerous as hell, I couldn't stand even seeing them anymore. It's the great replacement of us.
I wonder if those immigrants will get deported or big biz will shore up their h1b1 visas and just give the middle finger to out of work Americans

So, in a way, even though my job, which I've been doing for 11 years now, sucks, it's at least keeping me sustained until I eventually find something better.😅
It should be illegal to post a job just to data mine.
But guess what: Amazon, Microsoft et al. will still make huge profits in this time.

Love your style Michael. Great contemporary shows and topics. Real world.
E.g. Working in a kitchen brings you nowhere when you have a college degree i.e. the salary is low and you won't have time to search for a job that suits you. 🤷🏽
