We have gone full circle, I just started watching your channel when the overflow disaster happened.
That's exactly when I found Juan Brown. Something about his delivery of what was happening at the time caught my attention. Always good to tune into Blancoliro once in a while.
Meee Tooo
How many years ago? That's exactly when I subscribed to Juan's content.
@@captbad9313 He said 2017 in the video.
@@surters ahh, thank you.
Muni Water Operator here - love this content - I put this content on our “big screen” for the young operators-
Juan, you did such an outstanding job of reporting throughout the Oroville repair work, that this feels like visiting an old friend. Happy to see it’s in such good shape, now.
Thank you!
SO AMAZING we've been watching this with you Juan for these SEVEN years!
Always enjoy a Lake Oroville update as it's what brought me to your channel in the first place. A gentle reminder about you doing a video about the dam removals along the Klamath river. :)
2017 - feels like yesterday. -- The best thing that came out of that accident was the discovery of this channel.
Made a point of flying past Oroville on Saturday, unfortunately I did it at 8500' because I didn't have fuel to spare.
Finally, the official news, from the expert.
Yes! I have lived in Paradise and Oroville for 8 years. I have a particular island that I watch. It is only about 3-5 feet above the water line. The 2 trees at the crest have water lapping at their trunks. I love hearing the spillway at night!
Ah, Paradise. Or as others have called it, _Pleasure..._
It sure does look and sound beautiful there. Be safe. 👍😎
@@subliminalvibeswe are all hoping to be so🙏
I’m proud of you Juan ! Photo missions , two person operation !
One pilot flying and one person
Photographing the subject !
Thank you DWR for some excellent water management at Oroville. Big 👍to Juan for the update and aerial view.
Great to see the water situation is much better this year, pretty much all around Cal.
Always nice to see these aerial shots of Oroville Dam working full steam and in perfect shape.
Get well, Juan!
Regards from Toulouse, France - birthplace to most Airbus jetliners and to… myself !!
Looks like a fine lake where you and Dan can go fishing and share some beers and tacos.
I had the privilege of seeing Sedona Arizona from the front seat of a Waco biplane in the 1990's. One of the best flights I've been on.
I’m an Aussie and have driven to Sedona from LA 3 times, and all the way down to Tombstone, as I love the desert and also the Native American Cliff dwellings and those amazing Cacti, those red rocks are breathtaking, I still remember the first time driving over a rise and suddenly they appeared out of nowhere, it must have been stunning in a biplane, let alone being in a biplane.
o my 2017, when i first happened upon your channel, your brilliant coverage of Oroville, time flys by jaun, thank you so much for your continuing, brilliant, enthusiastic work. kind regards, dave. Uk.
Found your channel back when the spillway failed. Has it really been 7 years? Time flies.
I see that you are one of the sponsors for the Nevada County Fly in. Cool!!!!!!
Thanks Juan for plug for the Oroville fly in.
There's always time for BEAUTIFUL and good news! Many thanks!
I hope for your sake Nevada County gets those repairs done ASAP
Thanks, Brownie. See you at KGOO.
See ya Here!!
Dang! Hard to believe it's been 7 years and all that great reporting.
Oh good, I guess we'll finally get to see a video of Morning Mist out on the water sailing?? 😃
Cool spring! Snow in the mountains outside San Diego a month ago, and temperatures the same in Seattle and the Imperial valley. I couldn’t believe how cold SoCal was!
Looking much healthier these days.
That was a good winter season foe you.😊
God Bless the smart people who had the vision and skills to build these dams for thirsty California… and praise God for keeping them full!
Ahhh seeing this vid sure made my day, Juan! My hubby & I visited Oroville on May 1st… seeing it full is a welcome sight. Just knew you’d be putting out an update soon after. Cheers! Julie & Conrad
Juan, thanks for all the great information you provide, as well as your leadership at GEFA. It helps make us all better flyers.
These shots of Lake Oroville are spectacular!
❤ your hard work Juan! My father grew up in Arroyo Grande CA and he always worries about the water levels in his home State. He loves the water reporting 😊
I watched your report in 2017. Thanks.
And...lots of snow coming to the Rockies. Fingers Crossed.
Wow getting that damn in shape was paramount and to see it doing what it was designed to do after what it went through is a witness to a lot of hard work.
Thank you Juan for being instrumental in reporting the story of ORD.
Nice to see and also to see the Green Spot. :)
It looks like it might be spreading!! ;-)
Wow Oroville really come full circle and then that's when I first found you and started watching you. Appreciate what you do.
Great news Juan 🌞Have a happy and safe spring-summer!
I loved this “Dam” flight!
ty, jb...! can't believe it has been seven years since I've been glued to this channel!
Juan - another great and informative vlog! As California feeds the nation, this water is vitally needed for our nation.
England. I was with you from the start of the Oroville Dam 'leak'. I did have a go at your media and felt sorry for the Sheriff. Poor bu**er couldn't win. Anyway, I still pop in when Oroville is on. There was a young reporter from Fox4 who I felt so sorry for, she spent hours waiting to get a story in the cold. I emailed them saying how dedicated she was. They copied it and pinned it to their notice boards. Just to prove, not all 'Limey's' shoot poor colonists (not this week anyway).
Nice good to hear.👍🏽
I miss seeing that lake and driving on the dam, great feeling and views.
Wish I could attend, it's a long way from Gallatin, TN
To Mother Nature, six years is a millisecond.
@ 03:42...Just wondering if that seepage on the face of the emergency spillway is a item of interest (or concern).
Really enjoy your local information about water levels and events, as much as your information and analysis on aviation incidents.
Good work Juan. Please keep on.
Excellent report, and great bews.
Thankfully they haven't damaged the beloved green spot
Juan,
Thank you for this.
Paul (in MA)
Thanks for keeping us informed of Lake Orville, I live in Vacaville and find your channel my go-to for all of our reservoir water supplys. Please keep up the good work.
The windblown water is lapping at the coping on the top of the pool.
If anyone does a cannonball from a boat, it might overflow.
Also, noticed the damp spots on the emergency spillway.
Good to hear the water situation is looking better after the last few years. Even Lake Mead has recovered nicely. Now if PG&E would get their shit together....
Amazing view of Oroville. Always enjoy watching your flightrs over the reservoir. A lot different from a few years ago.
Dang! That lake is looking pretty good. So good to see it looking healthy again. Has it been 7 years? Eeesh!
Just saw a textbook wheels up landing following landing gear failure in a twin engine, landed successfully and didn’t get the props dirty, a few circles for 4 hours at Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
If PG&E was half as concerned about repairing their neglected Spaulding infrastructure as they are about protecting their corporate profits - they would put Kiewit on it and have it knocked out in a couple weeks.
3:15 It must feel safe around there - Batman is controling the outflow... lol
121 guy here Juan. You've got me interested in something other than GA and airliners with all this water talk. Aonther thing for me to nerd out too
You ought to fly-over the spillway at New Melones.
Gonna have to fill us in on your new Waco!
A really look at the current situation.
Thanks for highlighting the dates on local air show events, I'm always wondering when those are. I'll have to drag my son to Nevada County Airport next week.
Come on Up!
The emergency spillway activates at 901 plus feet, no matter what anyone says. 😂
Glad that my California grown veggies will be well watered this year unfortunately here in B.C. our snowpacks are mostly all below 50%
Beautiful visuals, great for the local economy recovery!
I like all your videos because it helps the RUclips algorithms. I liked this one because you didn't have to report an aviation fatality. It is when an aviation fatality happens that l feel that it is sad if it turns out to be a poor pilot decision. The best part is that you are able to point out what should be done if you find out what could be done if the pilot finds that they are in the same in flight conditions. I wish that there was a way that pilots could say that your words helped them.
Juan can you brief us on how Calfire uses the local precipitation and reservoir data to help manage wildfire season. I know they brief off it. Maybe a behind the scene view. Thx
You were reading my mind Juan.... I was wondering what Shasta and Oroville dam's / lakes looked like now. Poof ! There's Juan with an update! Thanks...
@blancolirio did you see the polaris ghost mid air at the Fort Lauderdale Airshow yesterday. We had just left when it happened. Boys are lucky
Nice flight over Lake Oroville...thx
What’s the snowpack of the Colorado Rockies look like? They feed the CO River which hydrates all of the Southwest.
That's great newa
Great news! TY
Great update
I see the green spot!
Great news to be full ❤
summer intern kellen hype!
Thanks to the Efforts of this Gentleman everyone can see the After Effects from the Disaster that was many years ago & which I read about here in Australia through an Engineers Forum.
Really Well Documented with the Video taken by Same Gentleman.
I hope this will help to Improve a great deal the Communities Concerns.
On the Infrastructure itself it seems a good Deal of Planning went into this Phase & I hope it is One of Sustainability into the Future.
Thanks For This.
Regards.
Thank you for sharing this good news and in such a pleasant way! And now, let's go PG&E with needed repairs!
This makes me feel good, on many levels. Thank you Juan!
Great report Juan hope you enjoy the upcoming festivities, safe flights mate,👋👋🙏🙏👍👍🇦🇺
You should do coverage of the Klamath river
Thank you for the work that you do. On a different topic, I was working on my family history today and found a family of 3rd cousins I never knew. The entire family of four perished in a California crash in 2000. See: Alaska Airlines Flight 261,an Alaska Airlines flight of a McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series aircraft that crashed into the Pacific Ocean on January 31, 2000, roughly 2.7 miles (4.3 km; 2.3 nmi) north of Anacapa Island, California, following a catastrophic loss of pitch control, killing all 88 on board: two pilots, three flight attendants, and 83 passengers. For their efforts to save the plane, both pilots were posthumously awarded the Air Line Pilots Association Gold Medal for Heroism.
I only learned of this accident and its effects on this day. Perhaps you have an opinion on the NTSB conclusions. Very sad tragedy. Again, thank you for the very professional work that you do.
We need more water
Yall be safe flying, get a grea Northernt solar event this weekend. Glad the lake is at cap..
Send some to Lake Mead! It would be nice if you could. 😉
Just dropped by to show my support Juan. You are the GOAT! Fly Safe my friend.
Thanks!
Wonderful to see a good news water story.
Another great report! Thanks Juan.
Thank you Juan, keep working.
Absolutely awesome weather right now! 👍👍
Thank you , Juan.
Keep it up Mr. You’re making a difference.
Awesome video. Thank you!!!
Always good to see the big lakes recovering from those drought years. Do you have any plans of going down to Central California? Curious as to whether Lake Tulare has dried up. I have a friend who lives in Porterville, but he said he cannot access the private land from the ground.
Great update and footage Juan. 👍👍
Thanks for the update.👍🏻
Nice to see it full!
Time to go sailing! ⛵️
What are the PGME and associated repairs, please.
May be another video or same if another channel describes ths.
Thanks for another great video from the UK.
Thanks Juan!
