    OBX LSD works perfectly after the small mods needed to it

    I've had a red one sitting in the garage for a few years with a spun rod bearing. I need to set to work on it!

      Yes you are correct, they were easier when i got it in 2002 but now they are hard to find just in good condition.

    wow, thats a really nice setup. How is the low end power with 18's and the rhodes lifters? also, are you running any fuel management, or do the lifters take care of the poor vacuum with that big of a cam?

  • @inferno2424
    @inferno2424  11 лет назад

    Thanks.. It's not my DD and i don't have a stock one to compare, low end power is alright, a bit bit jerky at low rpm(>1500) when driving in 1st and 2nd, idles the same as when it had crane 16 w/pt lifters (14.5 inchHg), now with the crane 18 w/rhodes lifters vac is 14.25 inchHg. Stock fuel system with mopar pcm. Idles stoich when warn and 11.3-12.0 WOT.

    Thanks for the reply, is it suitable as a DD or do you just choose to not to? Ide love to do this, but if I cant use it everyday ide have to reconsider. Also if you post any driving vids give me a shout out, love to see that bad boy in action ;)

    This just made up my mind and ill be keeping the rhoads lifters in my neon that the original owner put in the motor he blew up. Any engine management or just stock computer?

      this was on mopar performance pcm, I later changed to syked ecu. Idle was better with the syked ecu because the knock sensor is desensatize in the idle range.
      The mopar pcm showed knock (valve train noise due to cams and rhoades lifter) and retarded timming and gave it more lope (this was verified with a DRB3 scan tool).
      I later added a AEM FIC to the syked ecu before going turbo and I trimmed fuel at idle and the idle lope was almost all gone, cold starts and warm up where like there was no cams..

    how has that OBX LSD been holding up for you?

  • @familyfunwhipples

    what kind of head work did you have done,. wanting to run crower stage 4, wonder about shaved head clearance and what's the max?

    • @inferno2424
      @inferno2424  7 лет назад

      Head was port matched, light port job with 3 angle valve job and all radius done. head and block were only deck to a minimum to have a good seal, sorry don't know how much.The motor was all build with low compression piston in mine as turbo was the way i was going.

    hey is the INDY IM worth it on a stock motor? And is it easy to install? Direct bolt on?

    • @inferno2424
      @inferno2424  4 года назад

      The INDY is to big for stock na, I was going turbo anyways so I did not matter. My car was not faster in the quarter mile with the indy Vs Stock manifold when it was NA. I would suggest going different route for stock motor, and port & polish your upper-half stock manifold with this bottom half piece. copy link below: www.modernperformance.com/product/amm-no-90-lower-ported-half-stock-manifold-95-99-neon-20l-dohc/95-99-neon-20l-engine-components-throttle-body-and-intake-manifold
      Both intake will need some modifications to properly fit anyways: The indy I had to cut and adjust the fuel rail to properly fit, chase the bolt threads, plumb a 90 degree brass fitting for the coolant hose off the manifold, and needed some trimming to my radiator top bracket to move the rad closer to the rad support. Indy manifold fits thigh in there, you have to make sure it is not rubbing hoses or components... The AMM no 90 degree bend they sell from from modern is explained fairly well for what is needed to fit.. Good luck with what you choose but I would go with the no 90 bend if it was me again doing it.
