    Was pulling for you and Karl, but regardless of the outcome, I'm sure it's memories you'll cherish. Looking forward to seeing you in more tournaments.

    I've been playing with the Everest and Sniper for a while now ever since I got back to playing pool after a long lay off. I give the edge to the Sniper tip, but the Onyx has intrigued me. I want to give that one a go along with the Emerald. Either way, I haven't gone wrong with Tiger tips. Thanks for the video. Cheers!

    Great review Darren. This proves the misconception that soft tips deliver more spin - in my opinion it's the other way around. Soft tips just have much more "feel" to them while hard tips give the spin and speed to the cue ball.

    • @iimiboy
      @iimiboy 3 года назад

      That is definitely true, ive tried pretty much all the tips with over 15 cues and soft tips are no good for long distance draw, if the cue ball is in one end of the table and object ball the other end youd struggle to get a full table draw using soft but a good medium hard tip like the everest or emerald its pretty easy if you hit the balls good.
      Some brands tips just transfer spin very well while others just dont

    I got the Emerald tip for the first time ever after playing with the Sniper and Onyx for a year because I was trying to save a few bucks but I have to say that the Emerald is much too firm for my liking and it feels slappy on contact with draws and follow shots, so I’ll be going back to the sniper or onyx because both tips have that Ultimate feel and Feedback response that’s like butter.

    I got a shaft came with a Smiper tip I couldn’t play with it at all, same with the Everest which came on an OB shaft it felt like a break tip to me miscued every other shot. Kamui black medium that’s all I play with they play great and I’m used to them.

    I do tip replacement as a side hustle...don't use Tiger myself, but one teammate won't use anything but a Sniper tip on her cue. Others that have tried other brands like Mako, Kamui and Predator replace the Tigers 1st chance they get! So, it kinda goes both ways. I prefer a Mako Pro (medium) for my 11.8 Revo. I can draw lower than a Kamui soft n they hold their shape really well.

      1) accelerating smoothly THROUGH the cueball with a well timed stroke
      and
      2) havingt nawthern accent👊😎👌
      Not necessarily in that order of precedence though😁😉😉😉

    • @jameskirk3
      @jameskirk3 28 дней назад +1

      😅 go for the carpet friend. You want to draw, get on a real table, with good cloth, and drop the back of your cue as close to level as you can, then put the tip at the cloth and the very bottom of the ball.
      Bar boxes have trash felt on them, and "plywood" (simulated slate) under that, plus a heavy cue ball or a cue ball that's a bit bigger than the others.
      A proper table is slate, with a good cloth, and the cue is exactly the same as the other balls.

  • @DanNutler-db6yq

    The onyx tip becomes very hard just after a month or two of play but it takes about three months for the sniper tip to get hard but you should be changing your tips out once every month or two if you play every day anyway.

    I absolutely love this tip. It needs to break in. Very mushy and way too soft at first. I think after it compresses some it's perfect. Now it's the absolute best tip I've ever used. My cue ball control is getting so much better. Ever since using it my game has improved dramatically. I'm very curious about the Onyx. It's the same material just harder. Are you still using the sniper over the Onyx?

    I found I was missing long cuts,so I tried glasses. Started potting them,then was missing short straight shots into middle bags.
