    What are the compatible graphics card, power supply unit and cpu core that i can use to upgrade my hp prodesk 400 G1 MT for gaming?

    I have this unit, but it got a weird problem which is when i restart the windows it won't boot the pc up, cpu fan is spinning, led light is on and screen just stays black. Needed to force power off using power button on the cpu and the pc only can boot normally. I upgraded the original i3 cpu to i7-4790 and this pc just got a huge boost.

      Проверьте батарейку bios CR2032. Если меньше 2,9 V , то замените.

    It's still a perfectly good computer and I use an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 USDT which works fine so far, it's fitted with an i7 and 16 gig., of ram., and a 256 gig msata drive and it's running Linux Mint Mate version, I'm not really a fan of Windows 11, but I do have it installed on an HP Compaq 8300 USDT just in case I need a Windows pc..

    On all these older system upgrades (obviously they are not Windows 11 supported - TPM, secure boot, etc..) have you had any issues with the updates of the windows updates, or drivers? Thanks for all the detailed instructional how to videos.

    • @jensdbe
      @jensdbe  Год назад

      So far no issues at all for myself. I did hear/read that some games are not working on Windows 11 without TPM 2.0 while they work fine on the same hardware on Windows 10. But in terms of productivity/stability, no issues so far at all.

    Сейчас занимаюсь такой машинкой. Уже заменил оригинальный блок питания 300W на Chieftec SPS-500S 500W и поставил видеокарту Asus GTS 450 1Gb с дополнительным питанием 6-pin. Теперь подбираю звуковую карту PCI-E x1 с разъемом для подключения передней панели. Пока все нормально.

      @@DilanDinanti, A lot has changed since my first post:
      1. The power supply was unstable and we replaced it with an HEC-550TE-2WX 80+ Bronze one.
      2. The board had problems with the hub, and given the non-working sound codec and damage to the audio connectors on the back, we decided to simply replace the board. Picked up from Asus micro-ATX.
      3. I resoldered the wires from the front panel to the ATX standard and added a reset button.
      4. We installed a 512 Gb SATA III SSD for the system and games.
      5. We are planning to buy a card of the RX 570/580 or GTX 1060/1660 level.
      6. I am sure that with an i5 4570 processor and 16 GB of memory it will be excellent for both games and work.
      😅p.s. An 80 mm fan was attached to the front. for air supply inside, at the rear there is 90 mm. for disposal and if necessary I can cut a window on the side cover for a 90 mm fan. The processor cooler was replaced with the same server cooler, but with two heat pipes.
      p.p.s. This is no longer a computer, this is already a rocket! :)

    Can you do a video installing windows 11 lite?

  • @laurencejohnson4106
    @laurencejohnson4106 Год назад

    To be able to install Windows 11 on that HP Compaq 8300 USDT., I had to open the bios and disable legacy boot and fast boot and then enable secure boot and save the changes of course. I also have an HP Compaq 8200 USDT., but it does not have the secure boot option, so Windows 11 would not install on it. I prefer to use Linux Mint and Zorin, but it is interesting to try and install Windows 11 on old computers.

      Should be able to run with a PCIe video card. As far as I know there is no need to specifically allow it in the BIOS. If you insert the card you might be able to choose which one is the default.

      As the PC has a DVI port (the larger white one), you can just use a DVI to HDMI cable.

    Please! I do not advise you update this PC to Windows 11 as the CPU is not supported hardware. It may work for now but Microsoft will turn off security updates on unsupported hardware thus rendering this machine vulnerable. Only Intel 8th gen or above or Ryzen 3000 and above CPU's are supported. Just because you can upgrade this machine to Windows 11 doesn't mean you should. Just friendly advice from a Tech.
