      It is the dried up sheaths! What new leaves leave behind!

    Hey, I'm curious about misting.. can you tell how that helps with new growth?

      By experimenting! The sections I have misted have grown into leaves!

      @passthatplant wow..that's very interesting! Did you have a similar experience with any other houseplants? My dieffenbachia has a bunch of buds under older leaves that I had to prune off and it would be amazing if I could get them to grow! And thank you so much for responding!
